Great service and staff,would recommend
Brilliant staff
Always welcomed
Food ordered from bar to our room was great
Quiet
It would be good if tv had netflix there is limited channels
We got a very good one night spa deal. Pool area was ok it needed cleaning around and a member of staff came to do it for about 1 minute which was not enough. The locker rooms were awful and the toilets were disgusting especially the ladies toilet closest to the pool which was out of use but not signs etc. lots of noisy kids splashing etc so not very relaxing. Our massage was lovely and again the relaxation room needed a bit of TLC and tidying up. Our room was lovely and spacious but not many plug points for chargers etc. just needed freshening up around the hotel as a little tired. One thing I would say. Don’t buy any drinks unless you have a loan. Two single gin and tonics were £21.70. And the staff don’t tell anyone the price as we watched them they just present the card machine no cash allowed. Food menu is restricted no chicken offered just beef and fish options and all expensive. Battered fish was greasy and chips were hard. Breakfast was help yourself and a good offer of hot and cold foods but tea in an urn which was stewed and bitter coffee. I think a few tweaks as mentioned above and my sister and I would certainly go again for a spa break.
Fantastic treatments and experience, Teya was fantastic and excellent skin analysis and recommendations
My friend and I attended on a Groupon offer. With previous groupon offers at spas, I’ve al and received the bare minimum so my expectations weren’t high.
We were greeted at the spa reception by a lovely lady who gave us all the details we needed and provided us with robes, towels and slippers. We were clear on when our treatments were scheduled, as well as our afternoon tea.
The Elemis facial I had was so good that I almost fell asleep. Heated bed and relaxing environment. The room was clean and the therapist was lovely.
Pool side was lovely with great facilities (lockers all intact and in working order) and quiet, although we visited on a Thursday so car comment on this on a weekend.
Afternoon tea was delicious. The sausage rolls and scones were still warm, which was a really nice touch.
Very relaxing day for excellent value.
I’d definitely come again. 10/10!
Quite, clean, friendly staff
No coffee maker in room
Great location quiet & chilled out.
The Massage was fabulous off Taya little star.
All staff friendly I think it was Joe on reception he was really helpful.
Rooms really big. need a little update though.
Spa needs a freshen up. Shame there was no jacuzzi or outside space.
lovely stay.
Thank you
Had three nights b&b at this hotel with my wife. The staff were very friendly and efficient where nothing was too much trouble. We had a deluxe room on the third floor which was spacious, clean and comfortable with a very good bathroom. The hotel is set in the middle of a golf course so it’s very peaceful.
I would highly recommend this hotel not only for the quality of the hotel but the grounds are great for a walk.
I was lucky enough to be given a voucher for a spa day with afternoon tea for two as a gift and we went there yesterday.
Absolutely everything was perfect. We began by receiving lovely good quality robes, towel, slippers and locker key card (which worked!) from reception. We were guided to the changing room and then went for a swim. There was a water aerobics class about to begin and after asking the instructor if there was space for us to join we thoroughly enjoyed the next half hour of exercise class in the water. We sampled all the different saunas and chatted to some of the members who were all very welcoming.
There was sufficient time left for us to dry off before going to the relaxation room with cups of tea. Gabby then came in and took me to the treatment room while my friend enjoyed a further half hour relaxing on the lounger.
After going through my medical information and confirming the strength of my back massage I thoroughly enjoyed my treatment It was blissful. Thank you so much Gabby.
My friend and I then changed places and I drifted off to sleep in the warm darkened room.
After changing we headed to the dining area and were treated to a gorgeous gluten-free afternoon tea with sandwiches and warm scones with Jam and cream. The final cake was a slice of chocolate fondant cake. I’m not at all a chocolate fan and cakes are often far too sweet but this was a delicious end to our experience. Afternoon teas are usually over-facing but this was perfect and beautifully presented with a lovely choice of teas.
A
The room next to us had a group of ladies in that were noisy.
Had a spa day. Treatments by jodie were great...... definitely didn't want it to stop.
Facilities are OK but looking a bit tired and in need of updating, however enjoyed chilling out.
A fabulous experience. The service was second to none, the room was enormous, very clean and the bathroom had both a walk in shower and a bath. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was warm but not overly hot.
The restaurant was a little pricey but the food worth it. We used the pool and the sauna and steam room and, again, it was a great experience.
The grounds are wonderful and the golf course looked good but I don't play!!
The weekend was very busy and the staff were run off their feet. Despite this, they never stopped smiling and they all bent over backwards to make our stay as pleasant as possible - which it was.
Stayed overnight on our way further north. We payed a similar price to a travel lodge and yet had an enormous, clean, quiet room. The staff were all polite and friendly. Would definitely stay again. Very dog friendly.
Everything was great
Went away for a golf weekend, with a group of friends, was very happy with the hotel and golf facilities. Course was a bit wet but still dry enough to play off the ground rather than mats with pick and place in play.
Big thankyou to Chloe, Annie and Jake for looking after us on the bar all night, would definitely go back
A great spa day with afternoon tea. The back massage provided by Teya was something else. Never have i ever felt so relaxed. What an asset Teya is to Portal
The staff were great, the 2 golf courses were fine.
Our 2nd day we thought our booking included the evening meal and the breakfast today.
But not the way we planed after the 1st day
As above.
Great experience!
Good course looked after by Annie and Chloe!
