Ubicación, limpieza y personal
We decided to give a Trump property a chance for this trip, and we did enjoy our overall stay at the Trump Chicago. We found the property to be well-appointed and well maintained. We had no issues with our room and found it to be clean, comfortable and luxurious in the corporate luxury sense. The roof top bar/restaurant was also very nice, and we found the service up there to be exceptional. There were a few misses though that will likely keep us from returning to a Trump property in the future, because candidly these types of things just do not happen at the St. Regis, Ritz, Four Seasons or Kempinski properties that we favor. Upon arrival around 6pm, we were checked in with no issue and headed up to our room. Heading out to dinner a couple hours later, we noticed guests in the lobby that were checking in being offered complimentary champagne. This was a theme we witnessed for the entirety of our trip. Not sure why we did not merit the same treatment we saw offered to every other guest that checked in, but apparently, we did not. When housekeeping knocked the next morning, I apologized for not tuning on the do not disturb sign and explained that we would need approximately 2 hours before we would be heading out because we were celebrating a birthday. About 15 minutes later, we got a call from housekeeping demanding to know when we would be exiting the room.
Housekeeping stayed front and center in our stay, because the next day we returned to our room a little before 3pm for a quick break. Our room had not been serviced, and as soon as we sat down, housekeeping knocked. Actively having to manage housekeeping is ridiculous and nothing close to 5-star service. Upon checkout we checked our luggage with the concierge. When we returned to the hotel later, we still had some time to kill so we headed up to the roof bar. When we came down for our car service, the concierge took our claim ticket back to the porter and advised our bags would be right out From that point we waited, but our bags never came. After a few other guests arrived and presented their claim tickets and promptly received their bags, I asked a porter what the issue was. It seemed the issue was that none of the porters on duty had our ticket. k. When I mentioned that we had a car waiting and a flight to catch, rather than assist me directly, the porter left to try and find the concierge who was no longer available. Luckily as I was speaking with the porter, we moved to an area where there was a view into the baggage area, and I was able to spot our bags. Once the porter abandoned me to go look for the concierge, I had to take it upon myself to grab our bags and head to our car. Checking in on a Thursday at 6pm and checking out on Sunday at 11am while spending almost $4,000 in a hotel should get you the warm check in process provided every other guest. It should also get you housekeeping service that is unobtrusive and doesn’t need to be managed. And finally, when it is time to leave, your bags should be brought around in a timely fashion. Trump Chicago misses on basic things that 3 & 4 star hotels provide seamlessly, which means that this does not come close to being a 5 star property. Based on this, It is doubtful that we’d give a Trump property another chance because it kind of makes no sense.
Absolutely gorgeous property and the most perfect location in Chicago
Alejandro was on point. What a great place to celebrate 64 laps around the sun. Food was as perfect as was my beautiful wife.
Thanks DJT for a great view and a great restaurant.
Probably the greatest massages we have ever had. My hubby and I both were blown away by the skill and the care of everyone at the spa. Must go!!! We are so thankful. ❤️ The Browns
Alexandro was great! Super attentive, very helpful recommendations within the menu, and provided an overall amazing experience! 10/10 would recommend.
Service was A+++. Best hotel stay we’ve ever had!
Penthouse was pricey but you get what you pay for. Beautiful with exceptional service!!!
I made an account just to leave a review because in no universe is this hotel worth $1,000+ a night. The curtains were decrepit and ragged, and clearly have not been replaced in over ten years. Light switches are instead buttons that need to be pressed one or two times (depending on the switch) to toggle. Since there was only one bed in the room and three people, I slept on the couch bed, which didn't come out all the way and forced me to sleep on essentially a "V" shaped bed, hurting my back immensely (and I'm a young guy!). To top it all off, when I was using the "business center," which is two monitors and a printer, a pair of massive security guards came in and told me I had to immediately leave the hotel, and only relented when I showed them my keycard (which I luckily had, else who knows where I would have slept that night while wasting $1,000) and verified the name of my room. When I asked why they came, it was apparently because while I was talking on the phone and walking around that floor, which was composed entirely of empty conference rooms, I looked like a "suspicious" person even though I'm a 19 year old, pale Asian college student. I would rather sleep on the streets than ever come back here again.
Very nice hotel, nice location and a 5 star hotel
Things did not work in our room, lights/TV and Microwave
Really good service and food was amazing. Our waiter, Alejandro , was super nice and helpful.
Location, Staff, Atmosphere and services.
No issue with property at all.. the only thing that I didn’t like was noise from outside which is normal in busy city.
Alesamdro was the best! Great service.
