State of renovation so great for what we expected.

The room carpet needs replacement. Room had spiders. Very old, tidy and musty smelling. Not worth the spend.

The staff were fantastic- rooms could soo with maintenance and decorating but beds are really comfortable

The price of the room is cheap, so i cant expect too much, but the picture and the reality kinda diff, in the picture it was clean but in reality it was not properly clean. Some part of the wall is ripped, and the bathroom was not properly clean. I said this as i was working in housekeeping so I know how the standard of the cleanliness. The good things about this accommodation is the walkable area and cheap.

Nice to stay however the walls were dirty and leaky and mold throughout the bathroom. Bed was comfy and provided towels and soap

This was one of the worst hostels I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in quite a few across Australia and NZ. The reality of what this hostel is actually like is nothing like the photos posted online, so don’t be fooled like we were. The hostel is dirty, run down and is directly above a nightclub which blasts music until 4am Fri/Sat. The toilets on two floors were out of order which was extremely inconvenient and there was a single chair on the roof terrace with no tables/benches like the photos. The fact there is a hot tub advertised in one of the photos is laughable! The kitchen was dirty and there was bird poo on the surfaces from the door being constantly left open. We had a private double room which smelt like mould which explains why the windows were wide open when we arrived to mask it and our bedding had multiple dubious stains on it. The only positive to this place was the location, it is right next to Queen Street and easy to get to the train/shops/supermarket etc and you need a key card to get in so it feels relatively safe. Pay a little bit extra and avoid this place.

Good news its in the middle of renovation. The bad? Currently there is only the use of one bathroom on one floor and it was DISGUSTING. bedding was also stained even if clean. Rooms arent sound proof so no sleep is available.

Very convenient location and easy access. The room needs a repaint and new curtains and bathroom makeover.

My recommendation is do not book this place!

No mention of the renovations on each floor
No mention of bathroom facilities not being accessible on the floor I was staying.
Wanted a $50 bond for room key.
Empty beer cans in room.
Linen provided not what was promised.
The only bathroom facilities available were disgusting and decided not to use them.

We booked four nights in this hotel and experienced terrible service. I got sick from mound in rooms with terrible headaches! The first room has nothing but two filthy beds! With two agents of Expedia’s help, we were moved to the second room with shower and toilet, but the shower is dirty with mold! No way you can take a shower! Two thin mattress on the floor with springs poking! We could not sleep but wandered outside late. The third day we moved out to another hotel! Of course we did not get any refunds or even an apology from the hotel! We cannot believe that such horrible hotel has business! The building should be demolished! It is wrong to treat tourists in such dirty and filthy hotel! We felt regret for visiting this country!

This place is appalling and you should not book there. They have refused a refund after having to move out because of black mould and filthy conditions. Expedia who I booked through have also refused to refund even though I was their customer. Steer clear of both.

Loud music and noise on Friday and Saturday nights from the bar next to the hostel.

the place is so terrible you wouldnt be able to go to the toilet since it stinks, room had terrible smell floors are terribly covered, however the staff there were so friendly.

Description says (shared toilets) I was unaware until arrival that the toilets are UNISEX and shared to ALL i personally did not feel safe going toilet. Half the stools had no toilet paper and the other half had puke all over them. Not sure when the blankets had been washed last they smelt like curry so if your planning on staying here bring your own blankets. Other then a cheap place to stay there is nothing positive to say 1/5★

Despite being rundown and dirty, the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds and linen were nice but the blankets not so much. If all you need is a place to sleep, then you cant beat the price. Seems like the place is in the midst of renovation. I hope they can turn things around!

Not very nice at all disgusting .

The room was very different to the photo we booked online. It was extremely dirty and in all honestly a risk to public health and had to leave and book another hotel 2 hours after arriving. Not okay

Very basic room - no tv.
Communal kitchen.
Noisy Saturday night outside.
