Insgesamt schön, mit einigen Einschränkungen
Pros:

Das historische Ambiente des Hotels und die gute Lage. Das Hotel verströmt Geschichte in jedem Winkel und hat eine beeindruckende Atmosphäre. Vorallem der Eingangsberereich und der Frühstücksraum sind wunderschön und atemberaubend.

Cons:

Das Hotel ist schon an vielen Stellen renovierungsbedürftig. Die Deluxe Suite ist optisch auf den ersten Blick zwar sehr stilvoll, im Detail müsste aber einiges erneuert werden. Badezimmer: das Waschbecken war verstopft und unten am Boden trat etwas Wasser aus- es konnte kaum benutzt werden, der Handtuchhalter fiel permanent runter, ansonsten tolle Aussicht aus dem Badfenster und schöne Dusche. Die sogenannte Küchenzeile ist ein Küchenschrank und nur sehr dürftig eingerichtet- nichts da um Espresso oder Kaffee zu kochen, keine Basic Utensilien wie Geschirrhandtücher oder Spülmittel, die Armaturen sind voller Grünspan und marode und total verkalkt. Wirklich kochen kann man nicht.
Die Couch ist komplett durchgesessen und die Fenster klemmen teilweise.
Personal: die Rezeption ist freundlich, reagiert aber nicht auf die Hinweise zum kaputten Bad. Die Dame im Frühstücksraum wirkt sehr distanziert und etwas muffelig bzw. lustlos. Das Frühstück selbst war gut.
Insgesamt eine historisch beeindruckende Location, es fehlt aber der passende Service und das Gefühl willkommen zu sein.

Beautiful!
Pros:

Beautiful guest house in old building in Central part of Syracuse! The staff were really kind and caring and they have a great breakfast! There is a lovely spot to swim within one or two minutes walk. I also loved the courtyard area!

Cons:

La limpieza de la habitación dejaba mucho que desear. Sábanas sucias, fundas de almohada con manchas sin quitar, toallas con maquillaje, un plato de ducha roto, viejo y que debería ser cambiado, mampara de ducha llena de cal y óxido, falta de atención por el detalle de una estancia que podría ser maravillosa.

Cons:

Chambre sale à notre arrivée, et aucune excuse de la part de la réceptionniste qui nous a péniblement attribué une nouvelle chambre. Douche cassée qui ne se fermait pas.

Pros:

La struttura è particolare e la camera era spaziosa. L'arredamento e' essenziale e si apprezza lo sforzo di dare un senso estetico alla camera. Consigliato per chi apprezza soggiornare in ambienti rustici.

Cons:

Si sentiva abbastanza forte l'odore degli scarichi nel bagno. Gli asciugamani al primo contatto con la pelle, sembravano umidi. La doccia era veramente sacrificata.
Gli spazi della camera vincono sull'arredamento minimale e non tutto è coordinato, funzionale e omogeneo. Per esempio, non ho trovato dove appendere un giubbotto. La sensazione è quella di stare in una caverna confortevole piuttosto che in una calorosa dimora.
