Enjoyable stay
Pros:

The location was good. Close to Waikiki beach, cafes, ABCs etc

Cons:

Our initial presentation when politely asking if we could check in - it was around 11:00am was to be curtly told it would cost an extra $75.00 to check-in. We had had an early departure from our cruise ship so asked if there was somewhere we might be able to store our suitcases was again to be told curtly that would necessitate us taking the lift downstairs again to find someone who would assist us. We are in our mid 70s and have never experienced such a dismissive “welcome” to a hotel. The receptionist (Tracey) seemed more interested in talking across the reception desks to someone who was obviously a regular customer or friend. Not the welcome we were quite expecting on our first trip to Hawaii and from what we understood to be wonderful Hawaiian hospitality.
Other than our initial experience we were quite happy with our stay.
We booked a day trip and a Cirque de Soleil ticket through the travel desk on the main floor and received exceptional service from the girl on the desk. I think from memory her name was Jules. Maybe Tracey could learn a few things from her on how to treat customers.

Great location
Pros:

Room was comfortable. Conveniently located to shops, target etc and a short walk to the beach.

Cons:

I can’t fault the hotel, though currently there are building works across the road- a little noisy early morning with trucks and workers.

Shandon in the pool area is excellent!
Pros:

While waiting for my check-in, I was lounging by the pool and I got to experience a really great employee! Shandon in pool and fitness was so hospitable and helpful and always had a really great attitude! This is my first time staying at the outrigger and if the rest of the employees are like Shandon, we’re in for a treat! Make sure you stop by the pool and see Shandon when you come if you’d like a great attitude and a really personable experience!

Pool and fitness attendant
Pros:

The pool-fitness attendant Shandan was wonderful everytime my family went to the pool. He made it quick and easy to obtain a cabana and even went the extra mile to add towels to the top of it so that our little had some shade. It’s hard to find people who genuinely care for guests but he made us feel welcomed. Thanks Shandon.

Pros:

Great location and great staff. Great and comfortable rooms, right in the center of Waikiki. And thank you to Denise and Tracy for helping to make our Baby Moon memorable.

Cons:

The only issues I experienced was the WiFi signal was a little weak in our room and the showers take a long time to heat up. But neither of these were any real disturbance on our trip.

Exceeded our expectations
Pros:

Our stay at the Outrigger Paradise exceeded our expectations. The rooms were comfortable very clean and the location was close to everything. Everyone from the staff that checked us in to our cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful. We would like to say a special thank you to Shandon the pool/fitness attendant. He worked tirelessly to keep the pool and fitness area in top shape. He is an exceptional worker and should be commended.

Great aloha
Pros:

This was a great stay with my family. The room was always kept clean by our housekeeper who by the way was the best! Marylene took care of our room with a great smile and wonderful aloha with our Keiki (babies). The pool was amazing and clean. Great value, excellent location just one block off of beach. Will be staying here again soon!

Nice Stay but Needs Additional Upgrades
Pros:

We stayed at the Outrigger Waikīkī Paradise Hotel for a week and it was a good experience. The rooms are nicely updated and its location is convenient to the beach and sites. Our room attendant, Sasha, was great. She kept our room in perfect condition and was responsive to requests.

The downside to the property is the lack of privacy between the rooms and few amenities such as no bar, its own restaurant, etc. We were adjacent to two rooms by doors on both sides, on the penthouse level and you can hear absolutely everything from the other room guests. (Not a good thing!) With the upgrades to the hotel, they fell flat by keeping the old thin doors between the rooms. We probably wouldn’t stay here again because of these things.

LITERAL PARADISE ON EARTH
Pros:

Everything was perfect. Short walk to the Waikiki beach from the hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and professional. They made my 2 weeks here on the Island very comfortable and relaxed. A literal paradise the amenities were very clean and ergonomic. I had the best time ever. I will definitely be returning here in the future when I visit Hawaii again for my 7th holiday. Mahalo again for all your help.
