Great hotel for the family. Great location with pool. Family room with King size bed and 3 singles was perfect for our family of 5, couldn't recommend highly enough.
So welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to give my 8 year old a friendly stay
Nothing
Rooms in serious need of renovation, very dated. Swimming pool tiles dirty and changing rooms not maintained, showers etc visibly dirty. Stayed in many 4 star hotels and this does not live up to the same standards. Dinner was lovely in Charlie's bistro, breakfast was average.
Reception and restaurant evening staff were lovely and the evening meal was very nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was good. We didn't use the spa, but the pool was fun for the kids (though be aware that it was very busy).
Breakfast was atrocious. Staff looked very fed up and were slow to seat us, there was only one working coffee machine that you had to queue for for at least 15 minutes, the hot buffet was lukewarm at best, and the selection for the continental breakfast was very poor with stale pastries and soggy fruit. Don't waste your money, go elsewhere for breakfast! It was such a sharp contrast to the quality of the evening meal and how nice the staff were everywhere else. And the wifi is absolutely terrible, or at least it was in our room.
Stayed Saturday 28th march with friend. We booked a night with evening dinner and breakfast. The staff were so lovely from start to finish, they couldn't do enough. I mentioned our room felt cold and Tony and Ellie arrived with an extra electric heater and two housecoats. We were so impressed with service, everything actually so much so that we are going to book a night once a month for a good catchup as friends. Loved every minute, can't wait to go back.
Staff were super friendly. Rooms were clean and super comfy. Food was lovely and staff really went out of their way to help. Leisure facilities were also great.
Spotless room
No expereised staff in fact very staff at all
La Mon is a gem in the heart of the countryside with excellent service all around and delicious food. The country club is a great facility. I will say to make sure you bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as there can be a fair bit of noise from other rooms/people in the corridor. Nevertheless I recommend La Mon for a wee getaway.
La Mon House was great for a short break. Upgraded room was spacious and the bed very comfy. Leisure pool and fitness suite, the main attraction for us, was pleasant and open from 7am to 9pm. Charlie's grill served a tasty evening meal and The Mill Restaurant a good irish breakfast. Altogether an enjoyable break and very good value booking online.
Very friendly staff
Breakfast was lovely
Swimming pool could have been cleaner
Robes should be provided for spa facilities
Room was quite cold
Fridge should be provided
We absolutely loved our room which was spacious and clean. It had lovely views and beautiful views. Service was second to none. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night! We will definitely return to explore the Spa and Gym which we had no time to visit. Their customer service is next to none! Really impressed.
Warm, welcoming, clean and friendly hotel, with a spacious, comfortable room, a really good dinner, thoroughly enjoyable show (Ratpack Revisited), and an excellent breakfast. Plan to come back in the Autumn, and would very much recommend.
Fantastic day at wedding. Venue and facilities were really good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t gave asked for anything more .
Secured a couples deal for B& and evening meal. Hotel was easy to find, more than ample parking and the service was excellent without interfering with the nice, relaxed atmosphere. Food was terrific. Definitely on our list of places to stay if we’re over in the area again.
I really enjoyed my stay here, it was a prize we had won and i was really impressed with the staff. Everyone was just so friendly and helpful, especially given that i was feeling poorly they really accommodated my requests and even provided toast in the bar. I could not recommend them enough. Decor is a bit dated and I would reckon if this was updated it would really lift the hotel. We stayed in a hugh room it was great overall
I will start with the good. This was mine and my daughters 3rd stay (we stayed twice in 2024) we stayed last Sunday and had room 6. The roll was as expected, no complaints with it. I did push the single bed a few inches to be closer to wall to stop my daughter rolling off and there was an old used plaster and lots of dirt. So the beds clearly aren't budged at all.
We had a lovely afternoon at the pool (steps especially those near jacuzzi need a good deep clean) however the pool is great size and nice temp and that's really why we go. We had a meal in Charlie's that evening and the staff and food were all fab. Prob the best meal we have had there. Good hot, great portion and tasty.
Then back to the room. We went to bed about 11pm and where woken at 12.50am from other guests shouting and carrying on. This went on for a considerable amount of time. I heard another guest after 1.30 ask them to be quiet. The noise continued for at least two hrs wakening my daughter at 2.30am. The noise from room above was also wild. I went to reception at breakfast time and they gave us an extra hr to check out. I wasn't satisfied by this and complained again at check out. Like a review below I was asked did i call night porter. No I didn't. I had a 8yr old sleeping child for the first part. Would they suggest I upset and move her in the middle of the night. She then woke from the noise upset. Again was busy settling her back to sleep at that hour. More needs to be done to ensure guests have a better stay. We had such a lovely evening ruined by such a disruptive night. My daughter loves la mon so we probably will return sometime however will be in no rush and would want a guarantee of a quiet room.
Friendly staff and enjoyable stay will definitely be back
Food great in Charlie’s bistro and fabulous service
