Fun location, great staff, highly recommend!
Pros:

Cool property with a fun energy. Nice breakfast and greatly appreciated the welcome drink after a long bike ride. It was a great way to end our week traveling in the Netherlands!

Cons:

Nothing. We were fine with lots of stairs (it’s the norm here), but be aware.

Our stay at this hotel was one of the highlights of our time in Amsterdam. Traveling with a group of eight, we reserved two rooms, and Room 401 was truly exceptional. It felt like the best room in the hotel, complete with steps just outside where we could sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful canal views.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. After an overnight flight from the United States, we arrived well before check-in and greatly appreciated being able to store our luggage while we explored the city. Rasmus, Ebony, and Larissa were especially outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable.

The location could not have been better. Situated on a picturesque canal near the Anne Frank House, the hotel is within walking distance of many of Amsterdam’s most popular attractions. We were even able to take a direct train from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal Station and comfortably walk to the hotel.

As a historic property, the hotel has plenty of character, including some steep staircases in the main building. However, the staff happily assisted with luggage, making it a non-issue for our group.

A thoughtful touch was the complimentary beverage offered upon arrival. The hot chocolate quickly became a favorite and was the perfect welcome after our journey.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Between the outstanding hospitality, charming atmosphere, and unbeatable location, it exceeded our expectations in every way.

Cons:

Honestly, very little. The only thing to note is that the historic building has steep stairs, which could be difficult for some guests. The staff was happy to help with luggage, so it wasn’t an issue for us.

Das Personal ist super freundlich. Nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und okay. Unübertrefflich ist tatsächlich die Lage, wenn man das bunte Treiben um sich haben möchte und kurze Wege zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Der Hauptbahnhof ist nur gute 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt.

Cons:

Das Zimmer. Wenn ich als Backpacker alleine unterwegs bin, mag es gehen. Aber zu zweit mit normalem Gepäck (ein großer Koffer) ist es schon etwas katastrophal. Wenn man vom Bett aufsteht, kann man sich im Prinzip direkt aufs Klo setzen. Zwei Mini-Fenster zum Hinterhof der so eng ist ist das man nicht mal sehen kann, wie das Wetter ist. Nur hell oder dunkel. Die Ausstattung ist dennoch okay, bitte nicht falsch verstehen, aber wenn man drei Tage in der Stadt den ganzen Tag unterwegs ist, braucht man schon eine vernünftige Basis. Wir haben uns nach einer Nacht dafür entschieden, ein anderes Hotel für die anderen zwei Nächte zu buchen. ... Was ich tatsächlich richtig heftig fand, ist das Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis. Das Geld für dieses Zimmer ist einfach der Wahnsinn.

Room description did not disclose toilet was located outside of the room.
Room was booked 6 months in advance and €585 for a room 8 metres squared and without a toilet for 3 nights is highway robbery.
Booking.com customer service were useless in resolving the issue.

Charming, quaint hotel in the heart of the city.
Pros:

This charming hotel is in an excellent location to many attractions and the train station. The staff was helpful and courteous. It was a nice choice for our one night stay.
