Parrotel Aquapark Resort

Please do not stay here!! I do not believe how some people have reviewed this positively!

I saw some bad reviews before coming but I've travelled around the world in hostels and have stayed in great places with some bad reviews so I thought how bad can it be?! My son and I arent fussy eaters so figured we'd be ok on that front too... But no!

Food --- if you/your kids are used to chips, burgers, nuggets, pizza, plain pasta, sweet cakes and bread you'll be fine! We have home cooked food, veg and fruit a "normal healthy diet".
The fresh cooked pasta is pretty plain with some watered down tomato sauce, all the pasta dishes (moussaka, macaroni, lasagne) that they cook which normally we'd happily eat are overcooked and cooked with unpleasant cheese and very little meat/veg.
There is often chicken on the bone and red meat although often rather fatty, fresh fish which is whole fish with all the bones so takes a while to try to de-bone for kids but provides some protein.
There's lots of salad bits although often mixed with sauces which are not to everyone's liking.
Theres lots of bread but you have to ask a waiter if you want butter.
Normally hotels I've stayed in for lunch it's fairly easy to make a basic sandwich with different hams/cheese if nothing else but here there was 1 cardboard cheese and 1 ultra processed ham that's it.
Breakfast... Can't go too wrong can it?!! The croissants were very dry, lots of them filled with very sweet condensed custard type stuff. There was jam and honey to dip but again no butter!
The cereal was fine, the yoghurt... I have no idea what that was but was horrendous!!
Fruit at all mealtimes is large cut bits of orange and 1 or 2 other local fruits again largely cut and no one seemed to eat! Nothing small to be able to give young children (nothing with segments, no apples, pineapple, mango, berries etc). We did see watermelon once or twice!
At dinner they sometimes had strawberries if you got there before everyone took their full plates and withstand all the pushing.
You have to queue in the bar queue to get a glass to get a drink of water/fruit juice which you then help yourself too... Not sure why they don't just leave a stack by the machine??! Must be awful in the summer or when the hotel is full.

Cleanliness--- The cleanliness everywhere is bad... I've stayed in cleaner hostels in Vietnam!!
Toilets around the hotel... Poo stained toilets (there for our 7 day stay so must be a permanent feature!), often no loo roll so take some from your room! Often no soap in the dispensers either. The only nice one is at reception! Electrics hanging out of the dryers/hanging off the wall.

The kids playpark is unsafe, most swings are broken so not useable, wood and paint is chipped so please be careful with little hands!

The pool and aquapark looked great which is why we chose the hotel... the reality is it's all old and in a poor state, they don't all run in the day, some are open morning, some afternoon and some not at all! Most of the pools were very cold so I suggest short wet suits for little ones. The older kids who can run around the slides and swim themselves even stuck to mainly the heated pools.

We could eat once at the Italian restaurant and that food wasn't much better!

Weekend nights the disco music started at 11pm and was stupidly loud so anyone trying to sleep at this time good luck! I see no need for it to be that loud all around the hotel... It's not like the people on the dance floor wouldn't be able to hear it!

Positives---

The beach is great for paddling and seeing fish, calm and safe for kids, lots of rocks so you need swim shoes ideally but great fun seeing all the fish in the clear water. Unfortunately despite being able to walk out prob 50m in knee deep water, the lifeguard blows his whistle perfusly if you go more that 10 meters out! Be prepared to sit on the sand as no where near enough beds.

Medial on site is incredible. My son was ill day 1 and the Dr and his assistant were amazing!!! Couldn't fault them in any way.

The staff are all lovely and friendly and engaging with children.

From travelling to Egypt, middle east, Africa etc before I know 5* is never 5*, but normally id like to say it would get a 3... I wouldn't even give this hotel a 2*!
Yes it was cheaper than others, but there were lots of a similar price which I'm sure would be nicer... Not sure they could be worse!

We are currently here enjoying 10 days in the sun. I am here with my two children aged 9 and 16. The entertainment team are amazing at keeping the children and adults engaged. Lots of fun by the pool and plenty of laughter all around. I would recommend this hotel for family gatherings

We’ve had vacation at Parrotel Aqua Resort Beach from March 28th till April 8th. The food is very delicious, but Panorama Restaurant is very, very crowded & it always took time to get table cleaned, served with food, knives, spoons & so on. But thanks to Ahmed we were calm & confident that everything will be fine with him! ☺️
His English is perfect, he’s so attentive to every guest at the restaurant! 👍🏻 Everyone likes Ahmed & only due to him our vacation was great! 🙌🏻

Where to start... I could write a book on how sub-standard this place is. It is not a 4 star hotel! The food buffet is horrible. Food looks appealing as they dress with random colourful sauces but in fact it does not taste good. Meat quality is very low, overcooked then soaked in oil. Rice/pasta is stodgy/overcooked. Bread is stale. Deserts all taste the same and soaked in syrup. My room was falling apart. It seems that this hotel has had no serious investment since the day it was built. Stains on mattress and pillows. Rust around bathroom. Dust and dirt all over. Furniture falling apart. I was offered another room after speaking with management which was bigger, yes, but because of that there were even more issues. I was asked to sign a room satisfaction form after spending 5 mins looking around, which I regrettably signed under pressure and just to get rid of staff hovering over me. This room had chewing gum stuck in the jacuzzi bath which was broken and not draining properly. Mirror hanging off the wall and again.. dirt and dust everywhere. Drinks from the pool bar are given in tiny 1 mouthful plastic cups. Music on a night is like Russian techno psychological torture! I gave up complaining after a few days and just tried to enjoy my holiday away from the hotel but honestly... I would not stay here again if you paid me! This experience along with the nightmare airport in Sharm has put me off ever returning to Egypt!

The resort was in desperate need of refurbishment. The reception staff were very poor and in desperate need of customer services training. The resort is overrun by Russian tourists, so restaurant times are a challenge unless you enjoy a high level of rudeness. On a positive note Mohamed in the restaurant is fantastic and Jimi Jimi who works by the pool area is also amazing. The housekeeping of the room is of a very low standard, that's when they turn up. The food is ok and I would keep away from the local spirits. This resort is ok for a short break but if this is your main holiday I would choose somewhere better.

You get what you pay for I suppose, extremely neglected hotel in all areas, which is such a shame as this hotel has so much potential but its closer to derelict than a nice hotel as of march 2026, needs lots of work to bring it up to a nice standard. Everything is old or broken, half the slides dont work, theres light fittings hanging out of the sides of the pool floating around, damage absolutly everywhere you look. The place needs a serious amount of work before it should be advertised as a hotel. The food is the worst we have ever had in Egypt in over 15 visits. The hotel has possibly been enough to put us off ever returning to Egypt now, or at least for a while. Not a good hotel. Most British guests (although we were a rare breed in this hotel there were still a couple) we spoke to either said they would never return to the hotel, or they would never return to Egypt due to the poor experience at this hotel.
The bar staff, restaurant staff and housekeeping staff were great but unfortunatly they are fighting a loosing battle here.
Also, the lifeguards are more interested in talking to very young underage girls than the safety of the guests, disgusting!

They had BBQ's quite a few nights which was a nice change

Called ''family resort''
Every evening music was absolutely not family friendly. Techno/trap club music. Bashing every evening. Only totally waisted people can dance on it.
Even before kids disco. Very disappointed. Far away from kids friendly place.
Even in the room couldn't hide from that music.

Lovely hotel, currently staying here and the hotel has a lovely feel. Comfy, fun and friendly place. Good location for airport and Nabq bay and friendly staff, highly recommend the hotel.

We've just finished our holiday at Parrotel Aquapark. I was nervous before we came due to some poor reviews but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I hope this review will help people in choosing their accommodation.
The hotel is definitely looking a bit tired in places. Eg the rooms we had (1 x double, 1 x twin/triple) had baths which could do with replacing, and curtains were a bit shabby. But the rooms were large, clean and comfortable, fresh linen and water daily, and we were more than happy to overlook the negatives for such a great priced hotel.
The food was plentiful and varied. A few people we spoke to didn't enjoy it, i think maybe they prefer familiar western type food. But we were happy to eat the Egyptian style food and there was always pasta & sauce, pizza being cooked fresh, fried chicken & rice. The egg chef at breakfast does omelette or fried eggs to order and with 9 pans on the go at once, the queues soon go down. So really i am sure there's something for everyone. The staff can't do enough for you & if you really don't like what's on offer, if you speak to one of the head waiters or restaurant manager they will cook you something different.
The pools and aquapark are great. Alcohol is local spirits which are generally awful so if you don't drink lager (I hear the local saquara beer is great) then you definitely need a mixer with your spirits. The beach is good and jetty to the reef for wonderful snorkeling.
All 8n all, a great hotel, I would be happy to return. Yes you can have higher quality/luxury, but personally I'd prefer to save the £1k+ difference and us that for trips/spends when I'm over here.

* the drinks are good, although the wine could be better.
* our room was in the perfect location.
we were there in February 2026 and we have already booked another vacation for February 2027 we hope to get the same rooms 🥰😍

It is a fantastic hotel full of energy and joy and the staff it’s very funny and welcoming All the structures are fun and beautiful

Just returned from holiday at Parrotel Aqua Park, we stayed 7 days. The hotel grounds were really nice, the atmosphere was very good with the pools, the trees, wooden huts to sit, its all been kept very nice.

Our room was nice and clean. We initially was given a ground floor room as we had two toddlers and a pram. We weren't getting much sun light (which was the purpose of the holiday), we were promptly moved when we requested to a very nice sunny room on the second floor. The only issue was there is no lift so we had to carry our pram up 21 steps each time but the room view and the sunshine made it our worth while.

My twins loved the kids pool, it was heated so my children didn't get too cold playing in the water.

The beach was not in the hotel it was on the sister hotel Parrotel Beach resort, it is 10 minute walk which isn't too bad, they had transport available if we needed to use it. Our kids loved the beach.

There is a children's play ground, my kids loved this too. This helped us entertain them in the evening.
The resort also had evening entertainments like disco's, quizzes. It was not as good as other places I have stayed but my children did enjoy the singing and dancing.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Overall i would recommend this hotel.
Below are some minor issues I had:
1. Communication is not great, alot of the staff speak Russian, I found it hard to communicate with staff. We were not told there was another restaurant on site that provided chips and burgers, I realised on day 4!. This was a life saver, as my kids would play in the pool and get very hungry and then would have meltdowns as they didn't like the food in the main restaurant. Once we realised we could get chips from the other cafes on grounds, my kids would eat immediately after a session in the water park preventing meltdowns. I wish we had known this a little earlier.

2. The food, they had variety lots of meat and veg dishes, fruit, desserts etc. The food hall was clean and I was always impressed with how much food was on offer and the service. However, not sure if its because I am Asian, I found the food very bland and not very appetising. We did eat out a few times just to get some flavour. My kids didn't like the food either, so they eat lots of fruit.

Overall we had a great week, the sun was shining and we went off peak so the waterparks and beaches were not busy at all.
My children are both 2.5 years old for context of this review.
