Great location exceptional staff clean rooms and the breakfast wasn't bad either 😉 👍
Clean, friendly staff, delicious food, great location
Limited parking. Must reserve a spot
Accueil très sympathique et hôtel proche du centre.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We added another family member to the suit and they diligently made the necessary adjustments and happily got us ice and gave advice for the room and tips for shopping and also let us park our car a bit longer the next morning at no extra charge which was very helpful as we had a graduation ceremony to attend and what with photographs afterwards we needed that extra time.

in room laundry
the up keep of the property, but it’s minor issue.
Auckland City Hotel is perfectly located, 5 minute walk from the Sky City Tower and where the Skydrive express bus from the airport drops off. Our room was huge, clean and comfortable. We had breakfast included and it was one of the best breakfast buffets we've had. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. We're on week 2 of our trip and had to do laundry. They had self service laundry on 3 floors. The walk to the waterfront was about 25 minutes so it totally doable. The main spaces in the hotel were really lovely, very quirky and Vie restaurant was wonderful. I highly recommend.
Close to sky tower and bus station
Very clean, with a spacious room. The beds were very comfortable (although the single beds seemed quite narrow) with quality bed linen. There was almost no internal noise but some from the road (my room faced away from the street so front rooms will be considerably noisier). Location is very handy for the airport bus and only a 15-20 min walk to the ferry terminal.
There is a bond charged to your card - something which I loathe but which seems to be becoming more common. I just make sure to take lots of pictures of the room as I leave to prove that I have left it in excllent condition. Some reviewers have commented on the 'dodgy' vibe of the street, but I never felt unsafe. There are many quality hotels in the area, plus theatres etc.

Breakfast was great
It’s was really cold. No extra blanket and the heating was slow.
Location
Very limited carpark.
Walking distance to CBD
There is a clear homelessness problem in the CBD and this is evident from the moment you step outside of the hotel. Walking along Hobson street is not pleasant. The pathways outside of the hotel, leading to the city have not been maintained, and there are homeless people all along the street, in the nearby carpark and in front of the City Mission (across the road) day and night. Very sad to see.
We were awoken each night of our 4 night stay to screaming/yelling and things being broken from the street level.
The hotel room itself was average and provided the basics. The floors could have been cleaner upon arrival. Didn't enjoy waking on the floors barefoot (no slippers provided).
The king bed that we expected were two singles put together with a significant difference in height between the two beds. We brought this up with housekeeping who switched out one of the beds, unfortunately this didn't resolve the problem.
The shower door didn't shut properly and the pipes in the ceiling/walls are very loud.
Overall, the room/bathroom needs updating, general maintenance and a closer eye to detail. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this accommodation and would advise paying a bit more for a hotel in a better location and the comforts you'd expect for a holiday experience.
L’hotel molto carino e accogliente, lo staff gentile
Purtroppo il bagno non era il massimo della comodità, molto freddo.
