I liked everything from the Staff to the room.
The negative things about the location was the smokers, not sure if staff or guests just around the corner from front door and also the homeless begging at the front door.

If you’re looking for a sign to book that getaway, this is it. My partner and I swept away for the Thanksgiving long weekend in Edmonton last October, and the Matrix Hotel didn’t just meet our expectations — it blew them out of the water.
We splurged on one of their suites and honestly? Best decision we’ve ever made. We walked in to find champagne chilling in our room, and right then we knew this weekend was going to be something special. This is the kind of hotel that makes you feel like a celebrity from the moment you arrive.
We’d planned the trip around a couple of concerts in the city, and having the Matrix as our home base made the whole experience absolutely electric. Roll in after an incredible night out, sink into a gorgeous suite, and wake up to a breakfast spread so good it should be illegal. The breakfast vouchers included in our stay meant we started every morning like royalty — think freshly prepared hot dishes, pastries, specialty coffees and more. It set the tone for the whole day, every day.
Parking was never an issue the entire stay, making the coming and going between concerts completely stress-free. But here’s the moment that really sealed the deal for us — my phone charger broke on the first day, and without hesitation the staff let me use theirs for the entire weekend. No fuss, no charge, just genuine hospitality at its finest. It’s a small thing, but it’s exactly that kind of above-and-beyond attitude that separates a good hotel from a truly great one.
The staff were warm, attentive and the kind of caring you just don’t find everywhere — nothing was ever too much trouble. Four nights flew by in the best possible way, and honestly we didn’t want to leave.
Whether you’re escaping as a couple, chasing live music, or just desperately need a weekend where someone else takes care of everything — the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton needs to be on your list.
Book the suite. Order the champagne. You deserve it.
Drinks in the hotel lounge are inexpensive, location is convenient especially if you're taking public transit
Rooms need some maintenance, a piece of the top of the bathroom door fell off randomly the first morning we were there, elevators are slow every time we have stayed there, mattresses in the regular rooms could be replaced as the one I was in had quite the permanent dip in it from where everyone sleeps
