2 night stay at the Matrix. Arrived at 2 am to a Warm reception, clean, quiet & perfect room. Delicious food and ample breakfast, Great price. Made for an ideal base on my short stay in Edmonton.
This is our second stay at the Matrix. This time we did not have a vehicle, the parking area is very restrictive for a large vehicle and there were some issues with transients the first time. This time we took a cab and things were great. The hotel is clean and fresh, might be getting a bit dated in the rooms as ours didn’t have the usual array of USB type ports, still the bed was great and the cleaning staff did a great job. We had breakfast at the buffet for three days, tickets are a bit cheaper if you buy them in advance at the front desk. Food was fresh and a good basic assortment was available, coffee was very good. There is a Starbucks right outside the front door if you are so inclined. It was easy walking distance to our appointment and a few other shops we went to. All staff we met were friendly and extremely helpful. We will stay here again.
The staff were amazing at accommodating our holiday plans. They helped us wring in the holidays in a great way.
Good location
Parking is both terrible and expensive. You need to circle the parking lot for an extremely long time before you find a spot. And you need to pay $30 per day for it.
The place is nice but I wouldn’t call it 4 stars
Always a good place to stay
The lack of chromcasting seems to be very inconsistent and after years of staying there 9 /10 the chromcasting does not work!!!
The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly
Poor lighting
Facilities
Bathroom doors dont have locks
Location
Nice room. Bed was comfortable. Very nice lobby. Nice to have the parking right outside the hotel, especially downtown but the parking lot is small and very hard to maneuver around.
Its expensive for what you are getting.
Easy fast checkin, friendly staff, extra security in elevator
Breakfast buffet expensive and blah, repetitive food each morning
Really great front desk service. I asked for extra towels and instead of being grumpy about it, they gave me several and asked if that was enough (in a non sarcastic way lol). Solid location by the Ice District if in town to catch an Oilers game (and so by other bars/restaurants) but it is quite dead at night. Arrived there by bus, from the airport, so public transit was quite near.
Bathroom was okay, spacious enough. No outside noise. The color scheme of the room was a bit off putting, it felt like I was in a Stephen King adaptation.
The bed was extremely comfortable!! Which is a plus for me.
the room was a fair size.
The towels could be newer.
