I stayed at Cascade last week and had such a good time! Eleni and family looked after us so well and we had the best time relaxing by the gorgeous pool. It’s in a great location, close to all the fab tavernas and restaurants in the local towns. A perfect part of the authentic Greek island experience
Visited Poros with friends and we had the most wonderful stay at Cascade. This lovely family run hotel has so much charm and the owners really welcomed us and made us feel like family. They know everyone on the island 😂, so whenever we needed help or advice they could always point us in the right direction. The hotel is in walking distance to beaches and restaurants. You can also catch a water taxi nearby to get into Poros Town. We had some lovely meals in Poros town itself and jumped in cabs to come home. The owners helped us hire quad bikes through a place just down the road and we had so much fun exploring the beautiful island. I can’t wait to go back to Poros and the Cascade resort.
My Second Home
Cascade is officially my second home now! I absolutely love the peace and tranquility at this charming family-run property. What makes it truly special is how the whole family is involved in the entire operation, giving it such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I usually stay in a classic room, but this time I tried the deluxe double and absolutely adored the walk-in shower. We were actually the first guests of the season, and it was wonderful to see some beautiful updates: fresh paint everywhere, colorful new flowers, and my personal favorite — the luxury sunbeds with big comfy mattresses. Total game changer! The new umbrellas are fantastic too.
Before arriving, we messaged Eleni and she kindly prepared a delicious traditional meal for us: lemon chicken with potatoes, followed by a traditional walnut cake for dessert. What a thoughtful welcome — thank you so much!
If you’re looking for a peaceful, family-run resort with a personal touch, Cascade Holiday Resort in Askeli Poros should definitely be on your list.
Had a wonderful stay at this resort. The staff were so friendly and hospitable. Eleni was such a lovely host. beautiful accommodation in a stunning location on the beautiful island of Poros. 5 mins walk to selection of shops and restauarants
Having recently returned from 4 nights at this charming little hotel, I felt compelled to write a review.
Now let's start with the fact that this is not 5 star luxury, but you shouldn't expect it to be for the price you are paying! What it is, is a wonderful family run little oasis in the Askeli part of Poros. It is spotlessly clean, has comfortable beds, air conditioning and a warm welcome from Eleni every morning offering a delicious breakfast with lots of "picky bits" including my favourite spanakopita (spinach pie).
We stayed in a classic 2 bedroom room which had a double bed and 2 single beds, a built in wardrobe and a little food prep area with cupboards, a sink and a fridge which was really handy. The bathroom was basic but clean and perfectly useable.
The pool area and gardens are lovely! They had new comfy sunbeds and parasols for the new season which looked fab and the pool was very welcome after a day out exploring.
The location of the hotel is outside of Poros Town itself, close to the beach, watersports and a handful of restaurants. None of the hotels in the main town have pools so that's a major plus. Also, it's only a 45 minute walk, 5 minute taxi or 10 minute quad ride into the beating heart of Poros.
I would say that this hotel would suit anyone (couples or families) who are looking for a peaceful, authentic Greek, family run hotel for a great price.
Having recently been at this perfectly formed little Greek hotel, what is not to love. The owners are bloody brilliant, the location is spot on, the food was amazing - try the Mojito and the Greek Salad ! Albeit small and basic with no frills, the place really is great value for money and so welcoming!
Had a fantastic few days here. About 10 mins stroll from the restaurants and bars. Swimming pool was kept nice and clean and offered sun loungers for chilling out and reading. Breakfast offered hot and cold food, with pastries and bread.
We felt the room was a little dated and would benefit from bedside lamps and perhaps getting the jacuzzi bath repaired as it was a nice touch and it was a shame it was broken. It was also tricky to step in and out of! Other than that, nice friendly owners who made us feel welcome!
Traveled early September with friends. Such a hidden gem. I’m already planning on returning next year.
If you love a warm welcome & like to feel at home this typical Greek hotel is perfect . The family can’t do enough for you. You arrive as strangers and leave as friends. Lovely family run hotel.
I had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel in Greece. The property is impeccably clean and wonderfully quiet, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The pool area is a real highlight – spacious, well-maintained, and ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything was kept to a high standard. If you’re looking for a peaceful, clean, and relaxing hotel, this is definitely the place to stay.
From start to finish, this really did feel like a home from home. The hospitality and kindness shown by the hosts was fantastic. I stayed for 5nights on a working trip. Room was clean and tidy, fresh towels and bedding was maintained throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you, I look forward to returning next year, with my husband, so I can show him the islands.
Lovely family run hotel,Eleni and her family make you feel at home.Food is delicious all freshly cooked.Loved the rooms typically Greek Mama Mia feel.Beautiful pool to relax at.I can't wait to go back and do some more exploring of the Saronic Gulf.
The resort is located in quiet area of Poros but has plenty of bars, restaurants and supermarkets to hand. It’s about 5 mins drive from the port by taxi costing around 5 euros. The staff are very friendly and the check in process is quick and efficient. The rooms are spacious with balcony and a large settee. The doors and windows are double glazed with shutters on every window. Air conditioning is available which is a must in the hot months. Rooms are cleaned every day.
Breakfast is served near the pool and is plentiful with a variety of hot food, cooked meats and pastries. Throughout the day they offer a bar service and snacks. The food is excellent (try the Greek salad). The pool is cleaned every day and a big enough for a good swim. Would definitely go back again.
A Wonderful Greek family Gem - Always a Delight!
I recently stayed here again for a work trip, and as always, it was an absolute pleasure. I stayed in a 2-bed classic room, and everything was as expected and great value. Stathis and Eleni are the most dedicated and outstanding hosts, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
The classic rooms with their white pebble dashed walls, fixed beds, and hand-held showers are typically Greek in style and as charming as ever. It’s a true family-run Greek property, full of character, quirks and warmth. One of the best things? No sunbed wars! It’s such a relief to relax without the usual holiday rush for loungers.
Breakfast is more than adequate, enjoyed in the peaceful shade underneath the olive trees – an ideal start to the day. This trip was even more special as I got to share this hidden gem with my work colleagues, and they were equally impressed.
This place is a real treasure, and I can’t wait to return again!
I went to stay at Cascade with some friends of mine!
We felt like this was our home from home for a week.
Beautiful pool, food was delicious and so generouswith portions, we loved that this was family run also, meaning there was so much flexibility! They have big plans for more renovation and building, we can't wait to come back soon.
Thank you for arranging our trips, transfers, etc for us all too!
What can I say 𝕃𝕆𝕍𝔼 Cascade
Family run
Great customer service
Great swimming pool
Great atmosphere
Great location
Lovely rooms
Comfortable beds
Air conditioning that works
Great breakfast
Great drinks selection
Club sandwich to die for
We have just returned from the most amazing holiday at the Cascade holiday resort. I don’t usually feel compelled to write reviews but I felt
Strongly that this place deserves a
Mention. From the moment we arrived after a long day travelling we were warmly greeted by the charming owner Eleni and showed to our room.
It was a delight to discover spotlessly clean, crisp white linen and super comfy memory foam mattresses along with the relief of super cool aircon.
Breakfast is plentiful & Leisurely served amongst the shady olive trees consisting of cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurt & honey, cold meats and cheese, bacon and omelettes - not forgetting fresh juices and great coffee. They also serve a selection of lunches, drinks and ice creams during the day. The Greek salad is amazing and huge !! The pool is huge and has A shallow pool great for young children to paddle around the edge.
The apartments are just a stroll from Askeli beach which offers a handful of restaurants - we particularly enjoyed Odyssey - the owner were super friendly and home
Made desserts to die for!!
A taxi ride into Poros was about 7 euros. The port comes alive at
Night with huge selection of smart bars, tavernas and restaurants. We
Would recommend the Sail sushi and cocktail bar - the best sushi and wonderful staff.
We hired a Dune buggy for the day and zoomed around to see
More of the island. Spent the day at Russian bay beach hiring a paddle board and snorkelling.
Back to the apartments - there is a well
Stocked supermarket just
Down the road and also large bakery.
Much of the charm of this place is down to the genuine warmth and kindness of the delightful owners Stathis & Eleni. (And their daughters) nothing is too much to make your stay enjoyable. (Easy jet lost our suitcase and Stathis actually went to the airport twice to try and retrieve it)
Poros is a super relaxed and special
Place and we can’t wait to return!!
We have just had a lovely family holiday in Poros and really enjoyed staying at Cascade Holiday Resort. We had 4 deluxe rooms and 2 family rooms for our extended family group and it was perfect. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, the pool was nice and usually very quiet. The hotel is relaxed and welcoming. We really enjoyed breakfast under the olive trees, coffee and ice cream by the pool and drinks before heading out to dinner. Eleni and her team looked after us really well in the hotel, had some great suggestions for our stay in Poros and booked taxis and excursions for us. The hotel is 5 minutes walk away from Askeli beach and cafes and restaurants. There is a nearby shop that rents bicycles, quad bikes and scooters, perfect for getting to the port or around the island. We would recommend early morning swims in the sea followed by coffee at Once Upon a Time before breakfast. Dinner at Odyssey restaurant and Boat Trips by John Nakis for a trip around the island to different swimming spots. Would love to go back!
I stayed at Cascade Holiday Resort with my partner and our 18 month old and we had the most fantastic time there. The owner Elenia was absolutely brilliant at helping us arrange our time there - she called to make our ferry bookings to visit the nearby islands of Hydra and Spetses, and gave us details on where to hire a quad bike among other requests we had.
Our room was recently refurbished and really modern. It had a huge walk-in shower and the comfiest bed. The room was a really good size, with a large sofa and plenty of space inside for my son to run around!
The pool area is genius - there's a good-sized main pool, but surrounding it is a shallow paddling area that is perfect for families with young children or children that aren't yet confident swimmers.
It's located a 5 minute drive outside of the main town in Poros (taxis are only EUR5 and always available), but we walked in and out most days (takes about 30 minutes each way) and felt extremely safe doing so. Cascade is located on a quiet street only a 5 minute walk from Askeli Beach and a couple of local restaurants. There's a well-stocked supermarket and a brilliant bakery within a 7 minute walk of the hotel too.
Thank you so much for looking after us Elenia and Stathis - we've got so many wonderful memories from our week at Cascade.
We had the most lovely holiday at Cascade Resort. This is a small hotel which is a family run business. It’s located on a quiet street surrounded by hills, five minutes walk to the beach.
The staff were so kind and friendly, and the food was delicious. We were very well looked after.
The room was cleaned to a high standard daily, and the staff could not do anymore to be helpful with every bit of our trip.
I will definitely be returning, and i would recommend this hotel to everyone!
Poros is simply beautiful, and a hidden gem.
Stayed at Cascade Holiday Village in a Deluxe Room at the End of August
Travelled as a couple and had the pleasure of staying at Cascade Holiday Village, and I must share my fantastic experience, especially since some older reviews may not capture the positive changes made by the owners and I was a little worried at first.
So glad we stayed here! While there, I learned that the owners had just reclaimed the property after an 8-year lease to someone else. Their enthusiasm for change was very evident and some many lovely improvements already and nothing like the old reviews on here.
The simple yet very ample, home-cooked breakfast underneath the olive trees was a delightful start to our day.
The property exuded a sense of peace and tranquillity, making for a relaxing and refreshing holiday. It's a perfect escape for those seeking serenity and a true taste of Greece.
The Greek BBQ was great fun, we loved the music and dancing. The bar staff were super friendly too - you absolutely have to try Lemonodasos.
My deluxe room was impeccably clean, and mattresses and pillows provided the best night's sleep I've had in a long time. The hydro massage shower was a pleasant surprise.
A short walk down to the waterfront and the beach-lined tavernas made exploring the surroundings convenient and enjoyable – we took a water taxi into Poros – and loved it – beautiful, vibrant waterfront., ohh and soooo many fabulous beaches and hidden restaurants to find!
I wholeheartedly recommend Cascade Holiday Village for a genuinely stunning Greek stay. My experience was truly wonderful. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Can’t recommend Poros and Cascade enough it’s a real little find.
