Good value
Pros:

Big room, very clean, nice view. Friendly staff. Spacious indoor pool area, although the part with jacuzzis wasn't open. Good breakfast and great hotel bar. Free garage parking. Cheaper and, in my opinion, better than most hotels in nearby area. A relaxing 2-night stay.

Romantic stay over autumn holidays
Pros:

It was very pleasant stay at this hotel. Location is perfect on hill over seaside. Nearby garden with trees and seats is pretty. View from balcony to sea and Portorose is so beatiful. Room is clean and big. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free parking in undeground garage. Restaurant serve very tasty food during breakfast and dinner. Everybody can choose from prepared food. Room was silent as whole hotel. Wellnes zone with 25 m with salt sea water is perfect. It is little bit pitty that indoor wirlpools were out of order during our stay. Thanks a lot for beautiful stay.

The staff at the reception lied to us about the room availability.
When we asked for an upgrade, they said everything was fully booked - After consulting with her superior, also she concluded that everything was fully booked…
A minute later, we made a test booking for a better room in the same hotel — and it was available.
Never again!

Poor maintenance and management
Pros:

There is big discrepancy between price and value. This is not a 5* hotel according to international standards. Also 4* guests use same reception and amenities. It seems like a scam. The maintenance is at poor level. The stuff does not replies on emails. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. They deserve maximum 4*

Excellent hotel
Pros:

Excellent location, quiet but only 5-6 min on foot to center. Rooms fully equiped, clean and adequate for a 5 stars hotel. Extra big balcony with sea view (we love it!). Very nice restaurant, quiet atmosphere, excellent food and drinks, high quality ingredients. Big indoor pool, nice outdoor pool, both heated. Parking in the garage. Staff professional but friendly. Big reccomendation. Hope to come again.

Disappointing
Pros:

We stayed at the Casa Rosa annex. The maintenance is really poor in the room, the walls were dirty and scraped, there were spiderwebs. The bathtub with shower really dangerous as it has a 60 cm step to get into it.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, but the services would need more care especially the pools and the outdoor pool on the beach has a 3 star service not 5 as expected, very annoying.
The restaurant offers a lot of food but again it’s not at all a 5 star level. The quality is medium poor. The drinks are all upon payment.
There is no dress code for the restaurant which is very disappointing for a 5 star level. It’s very annoying seeing people wearing shorts and flip flops without the minimum care or decency for a dinner at the hotel.

Wonderful food and views, mixed experience with staff and outdated facilities
Pros:

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Metropol. What we appreciated the most was the gastronomy – the food was delicious, with a wide selection and a strong focus on local cuisine, which we truly enjoyed.

The rooms were beautiful, spacious, clean, and had a large balcony that was perfect for our family. Towels were changed daily, and everything was well maintained. The wellness area and the seawater pools were very nice, and the terrace with its stunning sea view was simply unforgettable. The well-kept garden also added to the relaxing atmosphere. Parking was included in the price, which was another advantage.

On the other hand, the garage, the hotel itself, the pools and parts of the surrounding area are already showing signs of age and would definitely benefit from renovation.

What disappointed us was the service. We often had to wait quite a long time for drinks, and sometimes they never arrived at all. At check-out, our room number was confused and we were initially given the wrong bill. Even though the receptionist later sent me an email with a big “UNPAID BILL” headline, and I actively communicated to clarify the mistake, the hotel never expressed any apology for their error and left my emails unanswered. This left me with rather mixed feelings about an otherwise pleasant stay.

To be fair, some staff members were very nice – especially one lovely young lady who always welcomed us warmly at breakfast and dinner, and the attitude towards our children was very kind as well. However, overall the restaurant service and reception (with a few exceptions) remain a weak point of the hotel.

Overall, we rate our stay positively. We would recommend the hotel, though with a few reservations. Our final rating is 4 out of 5 stars – one star deducted mainly due to the confusing and sometimes unprofessional service, as well as the fact that the hotel, pools, garage, and surrounding areas are clearly in need of renovation.

Pros:

Serious and genuine feedback addressed directly to the Hotel General Director, Robert Stanicic, and Remisens Board Chair, Suncica Sakoman, has been ignored. As such, I am sharing my experience here for the awareness of prospective guests before booking this hotel.

My family booked two rooms at this property, partly because complimentary parking was advertised as an inclusion. Unfortunately, our car was damaged in the car park, and human or dog feces were left next to the vehicle. Due to extremely poor lighting, both myself and my child unknowingly stepped in it. Photographs of the damage, the unhygienic and unsafe conditions were provided to the hotel, yet the only response received was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. The hotel disclaimed any responsibility, citing that the car park is owned and managed by a third party.

Repeated calls to the car park management went unanswered, and daily requests to meet with Mr. Stanicic were denied. With no senior management on site, despite claiming 5 star standard, I was forced to visit another property just to speak with a duty manager, Ms. Tina Jerman, in person. The attitude throughout was very condescending and unhelpful.

While the hotel may argue it does not directly control the parking, this is not disclosed at the time of booking. Guests are led to reasonably expect that the hotel exercises a duty of care regarding safety and security in facilities it advertises as an inclusion. Any reputable operator would have, at minimum, a service agreement with the provider to ensure health, safety, and basic accountability — or at the very least attempt to support their guests.

Regrettably, this was not the case here. The lack of response of Mr. Stanicic and his management team reflects a complete lack of responsibility, professionalism, and guest care.

Notably, based on feedback from other guests, my experience is not unusual.

Amazing!
Pros:

We’ve now stayed at this amazing hotel five times, and every visit has been absolutely flawless. The food is always exceptional – delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The spa and pool offer pure relaxation, and the rooms are spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable.

The beds deserve a special mention – we always sleep like royalty! Most of all, the staff make us feel truly welcome and cared for every time.

Thank you for creating such a special place. We can’t wait to return again!

After booking this hotel I was skeptical because of different kind of reviews but I must say that everything were literally perfect. Room and all hotel were very clean, you can notice smell of cleaning. A/C were not as cold as I personally like it but it was constantly pleasant. I believe it was around 25-26 degrees celsius. Staff is very kind, helpful and good hospitality. breakfast was amazing whatever you want. They were cutting fresh salamis, cheese, fruits, etc… in-front of your eyes. They even care for lactose and gluten freei food for people who have allergies. I highly recommending hotel to everyone from young couples, singles, elderly people and families. I haven’t noticed anything negative. Thank you for giving us amazing experience!

The room was clean, and modern, with a cozy bed and all the necessary amenities. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast – rich, varied, and delicious, offering something for everyone, including local specialties.

The price was very reasonable considering the level of service, making this hotel an excellent value for money. The spa area, although small, was a true gem – featuring three well-maintained saunas (Finnish, steam, and mediterranean) that provided a perfect spot to relax without any crowds.

Pros:

Great experience. We have only compliments for the hotel and the whole staff. From the booking, through the check in and all the services until the check out was practically perfect. The food both for breakfast and dinner was great (both the variety and the preparation). We were planning to go to a different location in September but after the really great time at the Metropol we decided that we will come back there for another couple of days.

"Great stay at Remisense Hotel Metropol."
Pros:

We have stayed at this hotel twice because we were very satisfied here. This time we were here with our friends from August 11, 2024, to August 15, 2024. Upon arrival at the hotel, the very friendly staff gave us two beautiful rooms on the 6th floor, next to each other. The reception staff speaks several languages, so we communicated easily, even as Slovaks. Our rooms had an amazing view of the sea and the entire city of Portorož. The hotel has a great location, even though it is a bit older. The rooms are clean, fragrant, and cleaned daily. The hotel has a wellness center with both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a beach pool. We also had free access to sun umbrellas and loungers. As part of our stay, we had half board. The food was excellent. There were always abundant and tasty breakfasts and dinners. The hotel staff is very friendly and always willing to help. There is nothing to criticize about the hotel or the staff. Overall, we rate our stay very highly and would love to return here again.

Unforgattable stay
Pros:

Right at the door, one of the hotel employee helped us with everything needed to know to and let us not worrying since the day one. The staff were amazing through 10 day stay which gives another highlight of the vacation.
The hotel was clean and the food was really good.

It was a really great stay in this hotel. I have no comments on their service, everything was excellent - the cleanliness of the hotel, the staff, the food, the wellness, we really enjoyed our stay with our dog and would love to come back again. I I appreciate the proximity to the beach for dogs.

A hotel at the seafront in the middle of vibrant Portoroz
Pros:

We spent five wonderful days with 2 kids in Hotel Metropol in a family room with full sea view. The room designs are a bit old-fashioned but the bathrooms are modern.
The hotel has direct access to the (rocky) beach and two own pools right at the seaside. There is also a slightly older indoor pool and jacuzzies and a newly rebuilt wellness floor with 3 different saunas, a jungle pool, and relax rooms. All pools are filled with sea water.
The restaurant has a large terrace with sea view and various performances every evening. The buffet breakfast was absolutely amazing. The buffet dinner was simply good, one can try many different things, including local specialties.
The center of Portoroz is in walking distance. There is a bus stop towards Piran at the end of the street. There is a large playground (Park Sonce) including a bicycle track and a shopping center in Lucija.
The only slightly negative thing is that there are loud discos in the center of Portoroz which might be annoying on the balcony. The staff was very friendly and helped with everything. We can recommend this hotel.
