Everything was fresh and clean nicely decorated .that it’s pet friendly. My only bad report is that the couches are very uncomfortable .
It was clean and quiet.
We had a room that was supposed to sleep 6 but the couch did not pull out. We let our youngest sleep on it solo. If we truly needed the 6th sleeping space, we would have been in a bind.
Our experience was absolutely unacceptable. After traveling across the country, we arrived at 9:00 p.m. expecting to check into our confirmed reservation, only to be told that the hotel had canceled it because they had oversold the property.
The staff offered no meaningful assistance or alternative accommodations. Even worse, the front desk employee was actually laughing while telling us this and casually mentioned that there were four other families still waiting to be informed that their reservations had also been canceled.
Instead of getting settled after a long day of travel, we spent the next hour scrambling to find another hotel late at night. Because of the last-minute situation, we had no choice but to pay nearly double what our original reservation would have cost.
To add insult to injury, the hotel had already placed a hold on our credit card, tying up those funds while we were trying to secure another place to stay.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. A confirmed reservation should actually mean something. We will never stay at this hotel again, and after the way this situation—and the lack of concern shown by the staff—was handled, we will be reconsidering Marriott for future travel as well.
We recently stayed in a two-bedroom suite at Residence Inn that was listed as accommodating six guests. Our group consisted of three adults and three children, so we reasonably expected the room to have a pull-out sofa, as every other two-bedroom Residence Inn we’ve stayed in has included one.
When we arrived, we discovered the suite only had two king beds. When we contacted the front desk, we were told that the six-person occupancy assumes four adults and two babies. Unfortunately, when we asked for a crib for one of the children, none were available. We then asked about a cot or rollaway bed, but those were not available either.
To be fair, when we reviewed the Marriott room description afterward, it did state that the room contained two king beds. However, other booking sites described the room as having a pull-out sofa, which added to the confusion. More importantly, it’s difficult to understand how a room advertised for six occupants can comfortably accommodate six people when there are only two beds and no alternative sleeping options available.
The hotel itself was fine, but the sleeping arrangements created unnecessary stress for our family. I would strongly encourage the property and Marriott to clarify the room descriptions across all booking platforms and ensure that rooms advertised for six guests have adequate sleeping accommodations for six people.
