Hotel Strass

Perfect location near the beach and such friendly staff! We’re a family of 5 and truly enjoyed the comfortable beds and the delicious breakfast. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Katerini!

The hotel is nice, has it’s own parking and has very large rooms (at least the room I had). Nice view of Mt Olympus on higher floors. Negatives: some stains on the sheets, one sheet was ripped and one air conditioner remote was missing. All in all a very decent hotel that I feel sorry for not rating 5 stars…

Everything fine until the glass door of the shower broke into pieces when my girlfriend wanted to get out of the shower. She got multiple cuts all over her body, got a shard in her back, if it was a good secure glass it would not break like that. From here the nightmare starts, the girl at the reception brought a medical kit, but here injuries were above that, she was the only one who cared. Then we went with the manager to the doctor. The manager clearly knew him and talked to him, the doctor cleared the cuts, took a shard from her back and he lied that she didn't have any, I have photos of him extracting the glass from her back. He mentioned leg injury to cover the hotel's fault, instead of mentioning her cuts. The manager didn't even knew what happened and instantly blamed us for the glass breaking. In the morning they told us that we will talk after breakfast, we ate and came to talk. We wanted to settle the issue and there was no talk, the options they gave us was we either pay the damage or they call the police. The police officers came, started to talk in Greek, so we did not understand anything. I insisted to talk in English so it would be fair for both parties. The police told us we either pay half and half or sue each other and went away. The staff didn't clean the glass, although they told us they will. They did after 12 and a half hours later, only after insisting many times. They did clean the room so we could take a shower and use the toilet. They left the glass for the police to see, the police didn't care to see neither the glass nor the wounds my girlfriend suffered, not to mention the emotional stress we went through. Total lack of empathy. We talked to our country's consul and lawyer and they said it is not our fault and that we should demand damages for what happened to us. The manager said we will talk the next morning when we were supposed to check out and we will sue each other then. After a day of stress and calls, we were called in the morning from the front desk telling us that the manager and owner was waiting downstairs with the lawyer. I saw it as intimidation. I told him we will not pay anything and that he will talk with our consul in Greece. After the talk, the consul said they will receive a call from a lawyer so they can talk from lawyer to lawyer. In the meantime, his wife came, they were four people and we said why are you four and us only two, we said that our two friends should be with us as well. In that moment the owner/manager started yelling at us, saying what will our friend do to us? We tried to explain it would just be fair. He got up and started yelling at us, swearing at us in many ways in Greek. Making ugly remarks about Romanian people, half the hotel were Romanians so he was swearing at the people who put food on his table. He started to be very aggressive, both him and his father, I thought he was going to punch my friend because he was very aggressive but his wife stopped him, his father pulled my pants yelling at me. They yelled at us to get out of the hotel, our luggage were still upstairs, this was before the check-out time and we did not benefit from our payed breakfast. We had to run up the stairs to our room and call the consul and lawyer. We got out as fast as we could. This is not hospitality. We are still a bit shook about what happened.

We were in this hotel for overnight. We liked the location. Very clean and well-furnished hotel with everything you need. The breakfast was good and we were pleased. Very responsive staff. I recommend this hotel.

I choose Paralia Katerini for a transition stop for visiting Skiatos island and Meteora Monasteries. So, my goal was to have an accessible hotel with private parking and decent internet. I received all I was looking for and the stuff was very kind and helpful.

It is close to the city center and to some great places to eat.

Strass Hotel is newly decorated and very welcoming and clean. It is at a location surrounded with many summer hotels situated for the attraction of the beaches nearby.

The atmosphere and the personnel is very comforting.

The staff was very welcoming and they were of service. Everything we asked we got very quickly. The buffet was very good and the neighborhood was vibrant. The private parking was very helpful. However, the beds were not very comfortable and there was no curtains in our room (not helpful if you are looking for extra sleep). Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Meget hjelpsom betjening, god frokost, fleksible vaske personale som også ryddet rom og balkong. Balkong var trang, uten tørke muligheter av tøy.vi Vi betalte 1200 kr. Ekstra i taxi fra flyplass til hotell og tilbake igjen. Kronglete med små barn å velge annen transport. Burde vært opplyst fra expedia....ellers meget fornøyd med sentral beliggenhet, laaang by strand, grumsete vann med endel maneter(ble brent ett par ganger). Fendel mygg på rommet(vi var i første etg). Nyere og bedre rom etter oppussing, i etasjer over..

We stopped for 1 night into this hotel on our way to skiathos and we enjoyed it quite a lot. Nice rooms, with balcony and big enough. Friendly stuff, well located nothing to complain. Yet the breakfast should be better but...is a sea side hotel so....
Parking possible but it was full....so....

Vi var där i 1 vecka och det kunde varit mer varierad mat till frukosten. Blev tråkigt att äta samma varje dag. Annan nackdel var att vi fick vänta 1 h på att få rummet trots att incheckningen var kl 13.00. vi fick rummet strax innan 14.00. Då vi rest en längre bit så var vi trötta och fick vänta i lobbyn. Våra vänner som vi reste med fick rummet direkt. Annars var allt annat bra!

we stayed only one night in our car route to kefalonia. the hotel doesn't have anything special. the front desk woman was very kind. strass provides a nice bedroom, a good wifi and a large balcony. very good orthopaedic mattress. the bathroom was small with a rusty shower (room 204). many mosquitos and a very poor breakfast. good only for transit.

Paralia was a shopping destination as we were traveling by car from Southern Greece back home trough Thessaloniki.
Strass is a fair 3 star hotel with nice staff, willing to help. It is well located - close to the main street and the beach.
Unfortunately there were some drawbacks such as the 5-6 parking places from the street just in front the hotel that were always occupied. Very poor breakfast and only up to 9.30 when they are picking up everything. Mosquitoes comming from outside and also from the bathroom vent. I suggest the management to place some mosquitoes repellent to be available in the room. Bathroom is outdated. Two single beds sticked one to another. Dirty air conditionating unit/filters.
The WiFi internet connection was good enough in the lobby as well as in the first floor rooms.

I was traveling to Southern Peleponese with my by car. Paralia Katerini was a stop on our way to South, we needed good comfortable stay to rest before final part of our 2300 km journey. Strass hotel was perfect for it. We good good accommodation, and it was interesting to walk in nearby main street of Paralia Katerini and watch crowded tourist town. Paralia Katerini is not a place I would choose for longe vacation, but is perfect as entrance to Greece. And for people who like busy tourist places with lot of restaurants, shops and attractions it could be great place to stay. Back to the hotel, room was comfortable, beds too, breakfast above Greek avarege, in fact good one. If I go to South Greece gain by car, I would stay in Strass Hotel.

Modern design, smiling personal, good atmosphere. We had safe in the room, it is very good! But!!! mosquitoes in the rooms, poor breakfast with bad quality meal. Conditions in the rooms are dusty, pillows are uncomfortable, bad quality of wifi internet. Quit good placement of hotel, close to the sea but not in the centre of night life.
