Grand Millennium Beijing

Stayed for 4 nights in June, hotel was decent, breakfast was good and lots of variety. The only downside was the early closing of bars and restaurants leaving options limited for an evening drink/meal. Lots of options outside the hotel though.

This review is solely based on my staying experience. I am a membe and direct booking guest, booking 3 deluxe room for 6 nights.

I will include some info for muslim traveller at the end of the review

I would like to mention Lulu,Bill Liang and Sun Jin for their fast response in replying to all my mail enquiries.. this is essential as guest will need to make swift decision prior to staying and proceeding with bookings.

Staffs were friendly and helpful though language barrier did causes a confusion with regards to deposit and final payment but they were patience and willing to wait wgile i took time to google translate difficult sentences.. Shoutout to Anna Anastacia for assisting us in english..very helpful lady. Bellman at the lifts are all very polite and never fail to greet you throughout the day..amazing...

The room is big and spacious making you feel cozy and comfortable to move around however i felt my room were not upkeep well and i felt did not do justice for a 5 start property. The blind cover were off its position, the wardrobe door did not manage to close properly and the lights inside remain lit throughout the night. The shower and its liquid ammenities bottle were cover in soap scum. Dust accumulation could also be seen on the side of the headboard.. i think for a 5 star property, rooms could have been inspected first before handed out to guest and such observation could have been avoided. As a direct booking mymillenium member who book 3 rooms for 6 nights, i did have a bit of expectation to details. I hope management do take a look into this issue as the hotel pool is superbly maintained. Would also suggest hotel to have bidet in toilet. This will aid sustainability as bidet help lessen the usage of toilet rolls..

Swimming pool 5/5
The indoor lap pool temperature is controlled hence is suitable for a swim even during winter season. There is also a hot jacuzzi pool which is wonderful to relax in. The swimming pool ammenities like the deck chairs and even the changing room is superbly maintained. Very clean. And you could have your own private changing area which is very nice...

Location 5/5
The hotel is situated in a very good neighbourhood where office building and shopping mall co-exist. The hotel is linked to a fortune mall, which houses starbucks,KKV,supermarket,clarks,burger king and many non-halal cafe and restaurants. Metro station (Jintai Xizhao) is just a few metres from the hotel and will get you everywhere in beijing. 10 minute walk from the hotel will get you to China world Shopping Centre which houses international brand like LV etc...

For muslim traveller :
There is no halal eateries around here BUT there is a nearby Halal noodle eatery about 15 min walk away or you could 5-10 minute didi to Canakkale turkish restaurant nearby. Or take 2 station to Tuanjiehu and go to SOHO building 2 where there are a few halal restaurant like khan baba and another turkish restaurant on the 1st floor.

For grocery run, fortune plaza which is linked to the hotel have some halal item like tuna,cheese,cup noodle and crackers...do lookout for halal sign on item. Or for more extensive item do took a metro to niujie for a more exensive qing zhen supermarket.

Summary 4/5
The employee and location is the reason for the 4/5 as i felt its unfair to be given 3 when their staff were all wonderful. The rooms i got however need to be maintained better for guest to have a more enjoyable stay or perhaps i was a given an old room because i see alot people review their room looking the nice cctv while mine overlook the 7-11 building. Would i recommend others ? Yes and i hope if should i ever return, i would have a more enjoyable stay next time...

I was on a two-week trip to Beijing. Too long for the Kerry or Jen, where I have stayed before. I chose the Grand Millennium based on location and price.
Overall I was very happy. The room was large, perfect for a longer stay. Like all Beijing hotels, it was very warm and dry so needed to use most of the body lotion to stop my skin itching. The breakfast was decent - plenty of choice. The gym was great - most days there were just a handful of guests using it.
The staff were exceptionally friendly. I'd definitely stay there again.

Bill and Alan from the concierge department of Beijing Millennium Hotel provided excellent service. As soon as I entered the hotel lobby, Alan smiled warmly and helped me carry my luggage. Bill helped me book the Beijing roast duck I wanted to eat, and the hotel room was also great

In CBD location. As usual. Millenium chain never disappoint me. Great clean with nice ambience. Clean room and huge bathroom. Separate WC and shower. Downside - no rinser in WC.

Old Four Stars Hotel with higher hotel charge than a local four star hotel. Must provide a tangible value comfort that the hotel guest can feel the difference.

Poorly managed room. Bad check in experience. No greetings upon check in, not even explain of the basic hotel facilities or WiFi connectivity. A fairly poor hotel standards.

I visited Beijing for a 4-day business trip and stayed at the Grand Millennium. The location is very convenient, close to shopping and easy to get around. The hotel room is a bit old, but the bed is comfortable.
I would like to especially mention the room service cleaner, Ms. Jiao Lifen. She was very helpful and friendly, and her thoughtful service made my stay much more pleasant.

Very good experience with Millennium Hotel Beijing. Staff were attentive and proper in helping me. Rooms are not that new but very well maintained and upkept. Definite yes again.

Very nice hotel in a modern part of Beijing. Very well located. Facilities are big and nice. Staff very professional a bit serious (lack of smiles). I definitevely reccomend this hotel.

Good location, easy travel with subway, not far to Beijing Capital Airport. Good restaurants and shopping mall around. Valuable to stay.

The stay experience at Beijing Millennium Hotel was very good, with a wide variety of breakfast options, large room sizes, good location, and convenient transportation. Mr. Liang from the concierge department arranged a private trip for me, and the view of Mutianyu Great Wall was great. It was a great stay

We have to change rooms due to the smoke/mold smell of the assigned room. The second room was slightly better but still smelly and the bathroom sink faucet was loosely dangling around the sink. We did not both changing the room again and who knows what the third room would be like. The breakfasts were good and enjoyed the variety.The location is also good and it’s less than 100 yard from the subway entrance.

A good hotel, the lobby is very luxurious, the rooms are well maintained, the gym and swimming pool are great, the wifi speed is very fast, and the breakfast on the first floor is diverse. Special thanks to the help provided by Bill from the concierge department

Lovely hotel , good staff and great location . Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice and the Chinese restaurant was excellent with David Liu giving us a top class service . Really recommend this hotel .

Staffs are very professional and friendly. Great location close to CBD areas.

It was a confortable and pleasant stay. We really enjoy our time here!
