About a month ago, I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during my first visit to Chattanooga.

Upon arrival, I encountered an unexpected issue — I was unable to register my parking information through the mobile app due to a network problem. Fortunately, Alaysia at the front desk graciously stepped in and resolved the matter on her computer with patience and genuine kindness. Her calm professionalism and warm assistance immediately made me feel welcome in a city I was visiting for the very first time. I sincerely appreciate her help.

The room itself was bright, spotless, and wonderfully comfortable. The hotel’s location was ideal; the next morning, I enjoyed a pleasant walk to downtown in just fifteen minutes. Later, I visited the historic train station, and while standing beside the legendary old locomotive, I listened to the classic song “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” which added a distinctive historical charm to my journey.

Chattanooga struck me as a city with both history and quiet beauty. This stay left a warm and lasting impression on me, and I hope to return one day when the mountains are alive with blossoms.

Breakfast was great & the guy cleaning/serving guy met all needs.

Although not in the heart of downtown, the location was just minutes away from getting there. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly and quick to assist when asked for things. It was what we expected and we enjoyed our stay.

The Hotel and room was very clean and well maintained. The staff was professional and respectful.

We have been staying at Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga Downtown once a year in the Fall for 5 years. Parking has always been free. However, this time parking is a whopping $14 per day. We were unaware of the new parking fee. We felt a bit deceived by this hidden fee.

The room needs to be updated . The shades on the windows are dirty and worn. The windows themselves are very dirty and in dire need of cleaning. The desk in the room was missing the desk lamp. We notified the front desk clerk that we would like a desk lamp but the clerk was unable to provide one The clerk told us that a request has been sent maintenance and we would have a desk lamp sent to us tomorrow morning. We are still staying in the room as I write this review and so far, no desk lamp has been brought to us.

The hotel overall looks like it has had some improvements since our stay last year. The elevators have been cleaned up with the wall panels replaced and both elevators are working. The ice machine on our floor during our rent stay is not working. I did notice that there is a nsign that states that the ice machines on only two floors are working. We are on the 5th floor and have to go down to the 4th to get ice. They have two new coffe machines in the breakfast dining area that grind beans and brew coffee. So, fresh coffee is available 24 x 7 now. They have a very good breakfast with hot breakfast consisting of eggs, omelettes, turkey sausage, pork sausage and sausage gravy. They also have hot iced cinnamon rolls. They also have this very cool pancake machine that allows you to press a button and it automatically makes two pancakes. They have all the other usual breakfast items like cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt , bread, bagels. The breakfast is one of the best ones offered by hotels.

I am uncertain if we will book our room at Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga Downtown next year. The additional cost of the parking fee might make us look for an alternate hotel.
