DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Midway Airport

When I pulled into my parking spot, there was broken glass all over the ground right next to my car. Not exactly a great first impression or a reassuring environment.

The walls were paper-thin — we could hear everything from every direction: left, right, above, and below. At one point it sounded like someone was bouncing a ball nonstop. I called the front desk, and while they said they’d take care of it, nothing changed. The noise went on all night, and none of us got any sleep.

Housekeeping was also lacking. When our room was cleaned, they didn’t restock towels or coffee supplies, so we had to go to the front desk ourselves just to get basic items.

The breakfast experience made things even worse. They were charging $20 per person for food that was cold and completely tasteless. On top of that, I asked a simple question due to a dairy allergy — whether there was milk in the eggs — and the waitress repeatedly responded, “the eggs are real,” instead of answering the question. It was dismissive and unhelpful.

After two nights of getting virtually no sleep, we ended up checking out early and booking a different hotel just to be able to rest — essentially eating the cost of the remaining night.

Between the noise, lack of follow-through from staff, poor housekeeping, dismissive service, and overpriced bad food, I would not stay here again.

Have been here several times on business, would definitely recommend this place. Located in a hotel plaza with a bunch of attractions nearby. Only problem is the Chicago traffic takes so long to get anywhere downtown.

We used this for a quick stay over Thanksgiving utilizing the Park and Fly rate. We were impressed with our stay when leaving for the airport Wednesday morning. The room was clean and quiet. The staff were welcoming. The shuttle bus service was efficient. There were walkable restaurants including a Starbucks at the Marriott across the parking lot. Unfortunately, my stay ended on a very negative note when my car was stolen at around 4:30 AM on Friday. I received a notice that my car alarm had been activated. When we arrived back to the hotel that afternoon, all that was left in my parking spot was shattered glass. I’ve noticed in other review responses that the hotel mentions informing the security team so they can “improve,” but based on my experience, a strong security presence clearly isn’t in place. My car was parked next to the actual building. Clearly no one checked on anything when the alarm was going off. The staff I spoke with afterward seemed indifferent to the situation, offering little reassurance or support. I would never utilize any of these hotels in this complex that don't provide a secure exit/entrance.

What a wonderful friendly experience at this hotel. Was greeted with a smile and a warm fresh cookie which is always a treat. The hotel has ample parking and is located with many other hotels with a Starbucks and Dunkin in walking distance. The hotel itself has a sports bar and restaurant which has lots of tv and even takes to play checkers. The hotel store has drinks, foods, snacks and anything you may need including phone chargers. The bar and restaurant was great with. 6 large TVs to watch the game. The food looked delicious. The rooms were clean and had everything you need. Coffee maker microwave and refrigerator. A good size desk to work and comfortable beds. Extremely close to the airport. Quiet and a great experience. Thank you !!

Other then loud nosies and banging it was good stay.

Convenient stay. Free parking. Huge lot with plenty of restaurants and stores surrounding. Understaffed so there will be a wait sometimes. The room was not in the best condition. Rust and possible mold in the bathroom. Had a stain on the sheet but got changed. Comfortable beds/pillows. Didn’t hear other rooms. Driving in and out is easy. Just beware traffic will occur at any time of the day. Not super walkable due to the busy roads/traffic. If you are on a budget, it will be sufficient, but if you are looking for a nice place on a budget, choose a hyatt instead

Coming towards the end of my different night, different city road trip, I enjoyed my stay at Double Tree Hilton in Chicago. The staff was very helpful & friendly during my stay. Check-in was simple & Marlene was exceptional during my check-out the next morning after sleeping past my alarm & needing a bit more time to check-out.
