Fantastic experience!
Pros:

Breakfast was majestic! Chef and the army team deserves all the bonuses. Waitresses seemed very polite and mannered .We thought they are students from Film Academy. So perfect accents. The tax driver extraordinary and cheerful. Great stories about the place and the people.

My room overlooked a parking lot and the spa area, so I had to keep all my curtains closed (especially in the bathroom) for any privacy. This was very disappointing as I booked a partial sea view for a reason! If there were more accurate pics online I might have booked another room.

Blissfully relaxing, a hidden gem for sure!
Pros:

This was an insanely beautiful hotel. Insanely gorgeous, almost haunting location near a beautiful cliff walk, several secret beach coves, and of course the surfing action of Fistral Beach. My husband and I were overwhelmed with the serenity of the property -- and yet, was easy walking distance from town and the train. The spa was the crown jewel, so relaxing and easy to access, good in all weather too. The breakfast was extravagant and the best way to start the day by the big windows overlooking the ocean. The lobby and stairs beautiful, the staff warm and friendly -- honestly I couldn't recommend this hotel more!

Cons:

The room we got was extremely small with no view, which unfortunately wasn't specified in our Booking.com reservation ahead of time. It ended up fine, but worth noting!

If you want to book something special here because of the 5-star promise and the high prices (with us 460€/night), you can expect the following:

Cleanliness
The toilets in the room are not cleaned even on a 6-day stay, there is also no toilet brush. Likewise the floors in the room no cleaning despite the beach sand. There is no hand shower in the tub, so no sand can be removed here either. The water pressure would not be enough anyway. The cabinet compartments are dusty. The windows in the ballroom lobby with great views are not cleaned, there are also cobwebs on lamps. The carpets except in the ballroom ten years too old and mouldy.

5-star standard
The entrance of the hotel directly on a public parking lot, where beach guests also park because of the unoccupied parker house. Without driveway or similar. In the dark entrance then no flowers but a strange milk jug, dusty. Also in the rest of the house no flowers but dusty silk flowers, rather scary. Except in the ballroom lobby everything is as dark as possible, everywhere there are dusty furniture or objects, rather storage rooms. Mini reception counter, dark and messy.

Side sea view
Instead of the expected room on the side of the building, you get one at the back of the building, overlooking the huge parking lot. Including the alarm systems that always make noise... The windows can only be opened a crack, heavy mouldy. Despite multiple requests no side room in 6 days.

Beach hotel
Although the Headlands is located directly on the beach, it offers nothing for beach life. No extra towels, no lying facilities on the beach, no opportunity to wash your feet off the sand.

Breakfast
Absolutely average without anything fresh except pre-cut fruit from the bucket. Ordered dishes mostly convenience. Long waiting times, too few capacities.

Pros:

The hotel was amazing the room very nice bed very comfortable as well as the pillows .and the vues were amazing staff very good all in all excellent stay.

Cons:

The room we stayed in was very hot there was a black and decker A/C unit but it did make a noise couldn't leave on all night.It should have had pepper A/C installed in the room didn't have a lot of sleep because of this not good.

Disappointment
Cons:

Disappointing stay – vastly overpriced and terrible attention to detail.
We booked The Headland expecting a luxury experience, but the reality fell incredibly short.
First, the room itself was a massive disappointment. For the price being charged, we were given a tiny room that felt completely dated. The carpets and rugs looked old, and the furniture felt worn out rather than premium. To make matters worse, the cleanliness was not up to scratch, and it’s glaringly obvious that the hotel is currently short-staffed, which impacts the overall service. Breakfast was also far from ideal and did not live up to luxury hotel standards.
The most upsetting part of our stay, however, was the complete lack of care regarding a special occasion. We had submitted a special request well in advance for our daughter’s 2nd anniversary/birthday. The manager explicitly confirmed to us that this would be taken care of, yet absolutely nothing was done. No acknowledgement, no gesture, completely forgotten.
While management did acknowledge the room issue by offering a small gesture a bottle of wine ? after we complained, it doesn't come close to making up for the overall poor quality of the stay and the ruined surprise for our daughter. We expected far better service from a resort of this reputation. Will not be returning

Headlands was ok ! Staff were lovely , some rooms too small but pool was not available to sit anywhere !
Pros:

Fabulous location ! My room was fabulous but my friends was too small stuffy and nowhere to move !

Cons:

No place to sit around the pools, no towels available for the beach, too many rules and limitations , no space at the spa for treatments and in general didn’t really make you feel special but was very pricy for value

Had a lovely stay apart from what I've mentioned
Pros:

Excellent breakfast, beautiful lounge to relax in, beautiful views from the outside terrace.

Cons:

No air conditioning in this extreme heat, there was a small fan but it wasn't sufficient, windows wouldn't open either.
The shower was over the bath but no grab rail to help get in or out of the bath for support or if you slipped in the bath.
