We loved everything about this hotel — the food, the staff, the pools, the beach, the view (sea view room), the sunset and sunrise, the friendly service, and also the location, which is perfect for exploring the southeast of Crete. Our son also liked the playroom, although as parents we see considerable room for improvement here.
I also liked the concept of “adult only” zones to ensure some calm moments in a hotel full of children.

Cons:

For children who went to the playrooms not to join the kids’ program but simply to play, both playrooms felt somewhat neglected. The toys were broken, incomplete, had no batteries or empty ones, or they were dirty, and this level of wear cannot be explained by just one season of use.

A wonderful stay with excellent service, delicious food, and a perfect location.
Pros:

This was our second time at Petra Mare, and once again we had only positive experiences. The hotel has become even better compared to last year — you can clearly see that the team is doing everything they can to provide maximum comfort for the guests.
A huge thank-you to all the staff for their attention, care, and willingness to help at any moment.

A special thank-you to the chefs — the food in the restaurants is truly amazing: always fresh, varied, and delicious.

Entertainment, the beach, the rooms — everything is at a high level. Petra Mare remains a place we definitely want to return to again.

Cons:

Gym required booking which is a hassle and it is both too small and not well equipped or maintained. There is so much free space they can do better

Das Essen und die Lage sind absolut fantastisch. Auch die Poollandschaft ist für kleine Kinder topm

Cons:

Der Strand ist leider ungepflegt. Überall hatte es Zigarettenstummel. Passt nicht zur sonstigen guten Sauberkeit des Hotels.
Der Chef der Wassersportfirma war sehr arrogant und unhöflich. Das Hotel sollte hier Einfluss nehmen, da diese auf dem Hotelgelände arbeiten.

Ideal um vor dem deutschen Herbst nochmal Sonne zu tanken, sowohl Pool als auch das Meer wunderbar zum Baden.
Pros:

Eine sehr schöne Hotelanlage, mit einem außerordentlich abwechslungsreichen All Inclusive Angebot, sehr freundlichen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern - ideal für einen Urlaub mit Kindern

Cons:

Ich war mit einem Teenie unterwegs und da war das Freizeitangebot nicht so ausgeprägt wie für die Kleineren

Essen und Anlage top
Pros:

Aussergewöhnlich gutes Essen, welches in kleinen Portionen frisch zubereitet wird. Die Anlage direkt am Meer mit warmen Salzwasserpool und Restaurant am Strand ist sehr schön. Mitarbeiter sind generell bemüht, Gastfreundschaft scheint aber nicht immer durch.

Cons:

Zimmer war bei Ankunft nicht sauber gereinigt, in den Folgetagen war das Zimmer und die Anlage generell sehr sauber.
Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, in der Nacht war permanent ein sehr störendes Geräusch zu hören das nicht eingeordnet werden konnte (Lift?).
In der Unterkunft sind sehr viele kleine Kinder. Wer Ruhe sucht ist ggf. in einem anderen Hotel besser aufgehoben.
Wartung war mangelhaft, zB kaputte Duscharmaturen, verstopfte Abluftfilter.
In der Nebensaison lohnt sich zu prüfen wo man b ch t. Animation ist zugekauft über Fremdfirma und hat geringes kulturelles Sensitivität gezeigt.
