Location worked well, ok, not great
Pros:

The pool although the jacuzzi was out of order.

Cons:

The noise - over 30s event, very noisy into the early hours followed by fire alarm going off twice in the middle of the night - happens every time we stay here.

Cons:

We had Room 11, which was a Suite, but it was absolutely freezing when we arrived. Attempts by the duty Manager to get the room warmer failed. My son elected to spend the night in that room but my wife and I were allocated Room 2, which was a lot warmer.

Good hotel for the price although for a Holiday Inn the bedrooms need a lick of paint
Pros:

The free parking. The facilities.

Cons:

I thought the standard bedroom was very tired looking with dirty finger prints on the paint work and chipped paint on the door frames and skirting boards. The bathroom was modern with a lovely shower but the bedroom was very dated and needing freshening up.

Good and Bad experiences at Holiday inn ME5 9SF
Pros:

I visited Holiday Inn at ME5 9SF on February 2026 and I had a very bad experience from Manager by the name Sophie. She forced me to pay service charge despite other customers intervention at the counter. She declared that she has been informed by the higher management that everyone must pay service charge. I paid service charge and forwarded complaint to the hotel and no response from the hotel.
The following month, March 2026 I booked the same hotel and I met other staff, who were very good serving people with a lot of respect. They did also gave a choice to pay service charge or not as it is not mandatory, they did also apologise for what I experiences from the previous visit in presence of other customers.
A lady by the name AZAR was so apologetic and she serves customers at very high standard.

Comfortable clean Hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel, great facilities, comfortable, clean, spacious. Good selection for breakfast, evening meal options also good & varied.

Cons:

Slight confusion over adding breakfast to your room & how they charge for it nightly but all got sorted in the end.

Was offered a free stay. Would not go bad unless investststuon sorted out which would take stripping the the whole place
Pros:

Restaurant and food what fantastic

Cons:

The room where invested with carpet moths and holes in the carpets they where flying around all over the room. Looked at another room it was the same. Moved to another room that did not look as bad. It was and we ended up checking out and going to another hotel.
