It was clean, beds were comfortable. Price was good.
Roads were noisy nearby.
It was easy to find.
It needs lots of updates. Our shower had stained walls the sink in the bathroom area had cracks though it the walls were so thin that every-time someone flushed their toilet in any other hotel room you couldn’t hear your TV because it was so loud if someone in other hotel rooms turned on their shower your couldn’t hear the TV because it was so loud coming through the walls
The view from my room oversaw the Columbia River and the Astoria-Megler Bridge. The Astoria Riverwalk and Maritime Memorial along the river were nice. Once settling down at night, I could hear the ambient noise from the river and bridge.
Although there is a homeless shelter next door, I wouldn't have known. The entire area was a pleasant scene.
I chose to stay in the smoking room since it was for one night. I had dogs so the pet fee was waived because of the smoke odor. I dont smoke and my nose gets stuffy from some fragrances and odors. My allergies didn't flare up and the slight residual smell didn't bother me. Plus, the view from my room overlooked the Columbia River.
The bathroom sink was hard to access since the door hinges shared the same side. The door had to be closed to use the sink.
I didn't watch television because the remote looked dirty. Luckily, i have Prime on my phone.
Wet wipes would have been useful at the time.
Upon arrival check in was smooth and quick. My room was spacious and clean. My room was located on the ground floor in the back which gave me a great view of the bridge. If you are looking for fancy, this is not it. This motel is affordable though.
Location
The Tv was going out. It had big pink line half way through the tv
One of the cheapest stays in Astoria, which is really the only thing going for it.
Ice machines broken on a scorching weekend, the only real amenity is coffee in the lobby, walls and ceilings stop zero noise, bugs in the bathroom, fitted bedding barely fit mattress and kept popping off, pillows were ridiculous dilapidated and ineffective.
I had been camping for the last eight days, but when I saw that camping at Ft. Stevens was going to cost me over $80 (out of state resident cost), I figured I might as well pay $20 more for a motel room.
Honestly the bed wasn’t as comfortable as my camping cot, but at least it was clean.
The grass space in the back for our dogs.
Walking path so close to our back door.
Great view of the Megler bridge.
Not enough towels. Especially for dog friendly rooms.
Pillows were thin and terrible to sleep on. The bed was really hard and the sheets were slippery and thin.
Super loud in the mornings when people showered, you can hear the water in the pipes squealing. When we asked staff if we could have new bedding they gave us a really hard time and still didn’t bring us more than a fitted and top sheet. Their hotel keys disconnect way to easy so I had to go get a new key once. The remote didn’t work for the TV in our room either.
guy at reception was great. the location right on the wonderful walking trail along the river was great. bed was terribly uncomfortable.
