Not for couples
Pros:

A lovely location. Not really for couples.
The first room we were given was absolutely disgraceful. It shouldn't be let out until it is upgraded.
The second room was only just acceptable.
The food was mostly good.
The staff were all really friendly and professional.

Great stay buy the lake
Pros:

Location on our way back to East Coast- get the breakfast if your can

Cons:

Street light outside the room lot up the room all night, tried to adjust the curtains but didn't work

Pros:

Bossy staff gives a very unfriendly experience. If you're in a large group their rigid seating policies in the bar and at breakfast make it very difficult to mingle. The bar food is mediocre. Really annoying is not being able to run a tab. Not having a euro debit card means you're getting extra fees on every drink and food transaction. Also our room was very noisy with ventilation fans all night. The Nespresso machine was too complicated to figure out. At least there was a kettle so we bought a jar of instant!

Relaxing getaway
Pros:

Rooms are so nice, lovely view of the lake, staff are so friendly, food was gorgeous. Spa is absolutely amazing, lovely relaxed few days. Will definitely return in the future.

I requested a room with a bath a month before my stay but didn’t get one and there was a leak with a bucket underneath outside the breakfast room

Pros:

Breakfast was amazing, so much food, lovely scenery.
Very spacious room, great views.

The Outside surrounding was beautiful.

Relaxing ,enjoyable and excellent food
Pros:

I went to Hodson Bay Hotel as I was attending a wedding in the area.I felt well looked after ,staff were excellent and breakfast s were a plus.The room was quiet and lovely view of lake also very comfortable.The stay was relaxing and enjoyable.Definitely would stay again if ever in the area.Thanks a mil to all invoved.

Brilliant
Pros:

It was a lovely relaxing trip, the bedrooms are spacious and the staff were nice. The area is nice and quiet a perfect place to unwind.

Wonderful.
Pros:

Last minute booking following a family affair in Athlone. Was allocated a De Luxe room which was spacious, spotless with the most amazing bathroom. We ate in the Bar where food and service were excellent. I cannot stress how good the staff were from reception, to the Bar, breakfast room and every interaction. Staff were a credit to their Management and training. It was Irish hospitality at its best, warm, charming and natural. A lovely hotel projecting the best hospitality !

Its like a little piece of heaven to stay here!
Pros:

This hotel, Hodson Bay, is one of the best hotels ever to spend a few nights and days in. The lovely warm greetings as soon as you step inside, the helpful and cheery staff from cleaners right up to managers and the beautiful food and choice available make it so very special. We will be back!

Family visit
Pros:

Recent visit to Hodson Bay last weekend for family event, as im originally from athlone I always stay at the Hodson bay great staff, quality rooms excellent food. I would like to thank the hotel for the upgrade, if there is availability the hotel will try to oblige, I think this is a nice gesture for guests and well done tonthe hotel for this service.
