Pros:

This was our first time staying here and we had such a nice time. From checking in and interacting with Fred at the front desk, we found the staff to be friendly and efficient. The star was the proximity to the beach and how easy it was to walk into town. We hardly needed our car while we were there. Great weather made Sept a great time to visit beautiful Carlsbad. We'll be back!

Stayed for our anniversary again. We had a fantastic ocean view patio! We walked everywhere! The views, beach access & local village are great! We’ll be back next year!

Hotel is in a great spot…across the street from the beach! Perfect to see sunsets!! Parking is easy under the building, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Pool area is nice, outside of property is nice. A/C worked fine, beds ok, not great, rooms need updating. Bathrooms need work, our room had an odd smell not sure if it was coming from the A/C but it was an issue for me. Staff was friendly.

Very nice hotel!
Pros:

Clean room with a walk-in closet. Very large and roomy, but very dark inside. Only the first floor of 23 rooms are hotel rooms. Second and third floor are one and two bedroom timeshare suites and condominiums on the third floor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast could have been a little bit better with at least scrambled eggs on the menu, but they did have fresh waffles, fruit, yogurt, breads, very thin sliced bacon and sausage. Beach access was just across the street and very nice. Pool was clean but pretty cold, the two spas were nice but overly chlorinated. Nice rec room with ping pong table and two pool tables. They also have a very nice overview balcony that you can eat at and view the sunset and Beach from.

Not a great stay .
Pros:

The hotel had a funny smell. We were given a disabled room, which was so dark. Breakfast was awful. Paper plates and forks, really low quality food. Great location but that’s about all. I went on the reviews on here but it doesn’t reflect it at all.

Amazing location but the rooms are very dated.
Pros:

While the resort has an amazing location and the rooms are huge, it is old & dated. The rooms need to be repainted, the furniture replaced, and please get new pillows! The WiFi did not work while we stayed at this hotel. I did appreciate the nice pool and bbq area.
