The Polaris is an older hotel but has everything you need to make your trip to Kimberley enjoyable. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. There is a kitchen as well as laundry in suite. You share a pool area with the Trickle creek lodge but its a very short walk.
The character and quietness, off season
Beautiful setting...Very quiet....Clean...Comfortable couch and bed in the suite we stayed in...Close to Kimberly town...Amenities on site sparse as we were there early May...end of ski season / Beginning golf season in the area..
Great rate for time of year.... Staff when checking in very helpful for newcomers giving suggestions to eatings and restaurants close by...
Like:
- Nice location
Dislike:
- Underground parking card reader very difficult to use, took 3 replacement cards plus maintenance man to get access.
- Condo a bit tired, loose taps in kitchen, shower head flow very poor, wifi very unreliable and down half the time.
Property is run down and “managed” by Trickle Creek Lodge next door. I acknowledge it was off season but the Polaris Lodge was not looked after. Staff next door at Trickle Creek seemed indifferent to looking after Polaris guests. Would NOT recommend.
We had a good stay at Polaris Lodge and had easy access to the ski slopes. Limited for food options on the day we stayed but we made it work. Breakfast was the biggest concern as breakfast options were not available until 8:30 AM.
It was a lovely suite, great surroundings, friendly staff. We didn’t have a car with us so it was a little out of the way. Nice time of year to visit.
This is the second time we’ve stayed at Polaris, and we will have no hesitation booking again! We love staying at the ski hill, especially for events and the rooms are always clean and comfortable! I would give staff and service a five star - but it seems whenever I call (in business hours) I don’t actually get to speak to anyone, but leaving a voice mail they do get back to you!
Bit confusing to access but room was great. No on-site eating or staff but once you figure it out everything was great
Overall pleased with our stay 😊
Checking in was a little confusing - check-in is at a different location than the building where the room is.
Upon arrival they had no record of our reservation. The hotel clerk made us wait while she checked in other clients, even though we were first. Tried to double charge us.
Hotel was difficult to find and check in was in another hotel
The room was great, and the staff member that checked us in and out was very helpful and thorough. The only negative was the elevator being out of order when we arrived, but it was working again by the next morning. It’s a short building anyhow, so an elevator isn’t the end of the world. We’d definitely stay again.
Signage is unclear resulting in confusion during checkin.
stay was great, but pool wasnt available for 3 days, the hot days🌞🌞
The room was good but the area we were in was having some renovations done in the halls. No staff at Polaris and none of the restaurants were open although the email I received from them stated they would be open. I understand they were open but closed when they shut the ski hill down. They need to update their email.
It's on a ski resort.
Nice view from our window. You can see the ski hills.
Great stay
