Slightly underwhelmed.
Pros:

Good breakfast. Eccentric tea/tasting spoons option in late afternoon. Good bar food.

Cons:

Hot water took a long time to run to the bathroom. The phone in the room didn’t have any instructions about how to reach reception. Wasn’t sure the vertiginous expense was worth it.

Fantastic hotel in quiet but very central area for city centre.
Pros:

Superb hotel, excellent facilities, room really well equipped and lovely bathroom. Breakfast absolutely superb and staff really friendly and attentive.

Relaxing and quiet, lovely hotel unfortunately falling short of 5 stars.
Pros:

Staff were very efficient and friendly. The location, hot tub, balcony, breakfast and hotel public areas were great.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our ‘extra decadent’ room did not live up to our expectations. We have stayed in a few 5 star hotels, but this fell short. Behind bed was very dusty and had red splatters up the wall (hotel told us after they were waiting for a decorator). The hot tub was lovely as was the area outside, but again above the outside door was pretty filthy (forgot to take photos) & needed a good power wash.

Winter Short Break
Pros:

A lovely surprise on arrival to be upgraded to a room with terrace and hot tub. Hotel beautifully decorated and staff very attentive.
Afternoon tea was a delight and additional touches in the room were really appreciated.
Located within walking distance of the the town, it is difficult to fault this hotel in its price bracket, unless you want gardens/grounds to spend time in.

A very relaxing and comfortable stay.
Pros:

The breakfast was perfect. Delicious and cooked to a t! We had an evening meal and it was exactly the same - perfect.

Pros:

Spacious attractive room with excellent bathroom. Complimentary snacks. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff.

Cons:

Only heavyweight duvets available. We had to ditch the duvet and sleep under the cover.

Pros:

Breakfasts were excellent with great choices. All staff were first class.

Cons:

Because our home is rural, we're not used to traffic noise. If we'd had a room at the other side of the hotel then there would have been no noise.
