We booked the room with the private pool. The room is spacious and bright. The pool is kept at a great temperature and is surrounded by gorgeous greenery. The hotel offers transport to local attractions and they were always very eager to help.
Truly a special place in the mountains
We stayed at Proud Phu Fah in Mae Rim and honestly didn’t want to leave. The whole place is surrounded by forest and mountains, and the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. It felt like we were in our own little world, far from the city noise.
Our room was in one of the taller buildings and was way nicer than we expected. Super spacious and spotless, and we had a private jacuzzi right on the balcony. Sitting in warm water with a mountain view was pretty unforgettable.
The resort is split into two areas. Some rooms are in villas, others in apartment-style buildings. Each one has its own layout and style. We noticed that some faced the river, while ours looked out toward the hills. It all felt very cozy and thoughtfully designed.
The pool deserves a special mention. It’s right in the middle of the resort and has this natural, peaceful feel to it. We ended up spending more time there than we planned. And the restaurant was great. Everything we tried was full of flavor, and we found out they actually grow some of the ingredients on-site, which was a nice touch.
One thing we really appreciated was how the place is run. It’s clear they care about the environment. There are little animals like rabbits and ducks wandering around, and the gardens are well looked after. It gave the whole resort this relaxed and caring vibe.
They even have a meeting room that can fit a small group, which could be useful for retreats or work trips. We were just there to unwind.
What made the biggest impression, though, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, kind, and genuinely helpful. That kind of welcome makes a big difference.
We absolutely loved our stay and are already talking about coming back the next time we’re in Thailand.

Exceptional staff
During my month-long stay in Chiang Mai, I grew weary of the city's hustle and bustle and decided to seek healing in nature. Based on my previous satisfying experience at 'Proud Phu Fah Muang Chiang Mai', I chose its sister hotel, 'Proud Phu Fah Mae Rim' without hesitation. Mae Rim was highly recommended for its nature-friendly experience, so my expectations were high. I was even more pleased because the hotel provided a luxurious taxi service, allowing me to travel comfortably and visit Mae Rim Waterfall along the way.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the hotel's natural atmosphere and the warm welcome from the staff. I checked in with a welcome drink and cookies and spent time browsing the handicrafts and eco-friendly products sold at the front desk. The cute decorations throughout the hotel made me feel like I had stepped into a fairy tale, and every photo I took turned out to be an amazing shot.
My room, a Jacuzzi Terrace Room on the third floor, was incredibly spacious and comfortable at approximately 30 pyeong. It had a king-size bed and a TV showing Thai futsal games. The elephant-shaped towels were so adorable that I wanted to take them home. The wooden desk, unique lighting, and heaters and radiators were all thoughtful touches.
The highlight of the room was definitely the large terrace and marble jacuzzi. I could enjoy the beautiful natural scenery through the glass windows even from the bed, and the jacuzzi was large enough for three people, feeling like a hot spring bath in the mountains. Relaxing on the marble platform next to the jacuzzi and gazing at the scenery was truly healing. The clean jacuzzi and bathroom were equipped with gowns and various amenities, and I particularly liked the sunflower showerhead.
After soaking in the warm jacuzzi, I took a leisurely stroll around the hotel grounds. The hotel was like a national park with various plants and trees. I saw two ducks and rabbits, and there were movie and music video screenings in the garden. The garden's atmosphere, reminiscent of Luna Lovegood's house from Harry Potter, made me feel like I was the protagonist of a fairy tale. There was a large swimming pool, but I was too tired to go in.
The hotel breakfast offered a variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients, and the homemade yogurt was especially delicious. The cute decorations and the swallow's nest-shaped lights were even more beautiful at night, and the lights along the walking paths created a romantic atmosphere.
'Proud Phu Fah Mae Rim' was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It was a place where I could enjoy perfect relaxation in nature and create unforgettable memories.

What a refreshing change from typical hotel stays! Our family found this mountain retreat to be the perfect blend of luxury and natural beauty. The spacious room was a real treat, especially the private terrace with its jacuzzi - perfect for relaxing while taking in the breathtaking valley views. Waking up to watch the sunrise from our terrace was absolutely worth getting up early for.
The kids were absolutely thrilled with the rabbit enclosure where they could feed these adorable creatures. The abundance of greenery surrounding the property created such a peaceful atmosphere, making it feel like we were in our own private paradise. The cooler mountain climate in December was such a welcome relief, making outdoor activities so much more enjoyable.
One of our favorite features was the cleverly designed interior that managed to be both stylish and comfortable.
We just returned from a delightful two-day stay at Proud Phu Fah, and I can't stop raving about it to my friends! The hotel's location in the mountains is absolutely perfect, especially in December when the cooler temperatures made our outdoor activities so enjoyable. The sprawling grounds are a paradise of greenery, giving you that true escape-into-nature feeling.
What really made our stay special was the thoughtful entertainment for kids. The playground area with its slide, swing set, and mini excavators was an instant hit! But the real highlight was the evening bonfire where we roasted marshmallows under the stars while an outdoor movie played on the big screen. It was magical watching the kids' faces light up during these activities.
Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a generous terrace that offered stunning valley views. I particularly appreciated the modern amenities while still maintaining that connection with nature. If you're looking for a family-friendly retreat that combines comfort with outdoor adventure, this place delivers on all fronts.
My gosh, the other reviews on here are absurd. Guests blaming the resort for being too far from Chiang mai, blaming them for snakes, when it's literally in a jungle, blaming them for it being too cold, when it's in the mountains. How ridiculous. The location is absolutely stunning, with a creek running through the whole place and gorgeous jungle and mountains on all sides. The rooms are super cute and manage to be well designed, but also hidden so it doesn't feel crowded. The food was mostly delicious. The staff were sweet and lovely. The beds could be a little bit more comfy, but otherwise would recommend in a heartbeat.
After a long flight this was a wonderful hotel to spend our first night. It is a beautiful setting. We slept with the sound of running water. The pool was great and the food was fresh and delicious. It is a quirky place, full of charm and character.

Proud Phu Fah was neat to stay at, but difficult for exploring Chiang Mai. We enjoyed feeling like we were staying in the jungle, and the room was clean and well-kept. There were three breakfast options, including one American breakfast, and the staff at the restaurant were especially pleasant. We were glad to have access to a pool, although it was a little chilly, even with pretty warm weather.
In hindsight, we should have stayed closer to the city since we wanted to spend most of our time exploring Chiang Mai. There was a hotel driver available for an extra cost (1000 baht for a 1-way trip) who was very kind and flexible with our desires to go to the city. Once in the city, we had an easy time finding a Grab (like Uber) driver back to the hotel for a smaller cost. However, being about an hour away from the Old Town part of the city made for longer days.
Overall, Proud Phu Fah would be a great place to stay if you are looking to hang out at the hotel most of the time! If you are wanting to explore Chiang Mai and go on excursions to an elephant sanctuary, the sticky waterfall, or Doi Inthanon, you're probably better off staying in the city instead!

Good to stay in the green location beside with small stream / good service from the staff and good food. Suggest visiting to leave your busy day from town and work. / Winter is a good time to visit with fresh air and cold weather

Love the natural green environment around the resort. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the water heater did not work properly for the first night but the hotel gave us two complimentary nights for the next visit. Good location around Mae Rim.

Nice and cozy place, not too expensive clean and tidy room we got. We have breakfast since early morning before leave the resort was very nice. Reception was very kind to our kids and she escort us to room too
My favorite place that I’ve been there more than 4 times. All private villa face the jungle and stream. This place is very peaceful. There are 3 choices of breakfast including boiled rice and Western.
