I checked in late but the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I got the room that I booked with the amazing unobstructed view of the river. I had some laundry and it was done at a very cheap price. The room was neat and clean, the terrace is large and private, bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is large and newly renovated. The staff is really caring, attentive and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable.
Lovely place and very helpful staff. Everything worked perfectly. Nice and calm area and a great restaurant near the lobby.
Stayed here at the start of an Intrepid tour. It's clean, the bed comfortable and the staff extremely helpful. Breakfast was perfectly decent, with omelettes made to order. It is scruffy in places, but good value. Location is very handy - there are Nile-side restaurants five minutes' walk away. It is noisy - even with windows shut they sound open. We had a balcony with a view of the Nile.
This was my final night in Egypt, I was travelling with an organised Intrepid tour to Cairo, Aswan and Luxor and was finishing my stay here and leaving for the airport during the early hours of the 31st December. The staff were super helpful when I asked them anything. It was also nice to get a welcome orange juice, water, Pepsi and orange.
staff were very helpful and friendly,i stayed here before and after a trip ,they were very accommodating.allowed me to check in early after a long trip.
a good mart is 5 minutes away for snacks.
the river is close.
room was always made up ,never had to ask.
food is very nice on the ground floor restaurant and the breakfast restaurant has a great view.
i asked for a room with a view and they delivered.
good hot shower.
handy to a atm
Room and Amenities
The room was moderately comfortable, but the air conditioning was problematic. Despite the cold weather in Cairo in December, the AC only provided cold air, and the filter was clogged with dust, indicating a lack of maintenance.
Reception Service
The reception staff were a mixed experience. While one staff member was diplomatic and courteous, another displayed poor customer service. When I requested a converter for a three-pin plug to fit the two-pin sockets used in Egypt and the hotel, I was told, "We are a three-star hotel, so we don't provide it. You can purchase one outside." This attitude highlights the need for better training in customer service.
Housekeeping
The housekeeping staff were excellent—professional, efficient, and attentive to details.
Dining Experience
The breakfast buffet on the 10th floor was a highlight of the stay. The food was of high quality, and the waitstaff were polite, professional, and exceptionally helpful.
Overall, while the hotel has strengths in housekeeping and dining, improvements in maintenance and customer service at reception are necessary to enhance the guest experience.
Staff is excellent.
I came here as part of an Intrepid tour. The hotel is clean, functioning lifts and airconditioned rooms. The staff are very polite, I felt safe as a solo female traveller and my room view was great! Clean towels, clean bathroom and clean bedding. A fridge and safe in the room. The only con for me was that the bed wasn't that comfortable - it was very firm but otherwise was fine.
The service is amazing. One of the best places i stayed while in egypt.
The "average" rating above would be average for Egyptian standards and not for the West. During the three days we stayed there we had to have the hotel maintenance people in to fix a blocked drain, a toilet that didn't flush, a tap that was defective and an air conditioner issue.
Stayed here as part of a tour group. Would not have been a choice is travelling independently. The foyer was dowdy and the lifts were very slow. The foyer was always full of tour groups coming and going. The room had a balcony which was great to provide fresh air. The bed was OK - sheets were clean. Bathroom has a leaky shower and the toilet paper did not last long. Breakfast on the top floor was basic - omelettes, bread, juice and cheeses and coffee. Had only small towel in bathroom and did not realise that they were not bath towels but hand towels. There were many small stores in the street from the hotel which sold water, snacks, fruit, baked goods and even offered haircuts. It was within walking distance of the metro. The restaurant onsite provided a selection of food to cater for most people at an acceptable price. They also took credit cards.
Nice view of the Nile. Convenient location. Good breakfast. Shower pressure was unreliable.
Budget hotel is an understatement. The shower drains in numerous rooms wouldn’t drain and had little water pressure. The rooms are dated with stained mattresses, pillows, and sheets.
The place of lication is good and the sraff was very nice, friendly and helpful. But hotel really needs renovation. The hot water didn't work at tge beginning, the floor was very dirty, the most uncompfortable beds.
Absolutely disgusting, avoid!!! Hair in food, hair in bed sheets, stains on sheets and towels, air conditioner didn’t work, internet didn’t work, rooms smelt, rooms were mouldy, no hot water, people smoking everywhere throughout hotel, just YUK!!! Do not stay here! Yes it is cheap but it is not worth it at all, cheaper places else where that are nicer
Excellent stay, especially considering the price.
Pros: 24 hour front desk, 24 hour restaurant, very friendly/helpful staff, clean, A/C worked well.
Cons: beds and pillow were very hard and uncomfortable, lots of noise from the hallway.
I rate this hotel a 3. Staff are ok and the location is fine. The whole place looked extremely tired with things either broken or not working such as lifts and wifi in rooms. The shower water was also lukewarm throughout our stay. Breakfast was acceptable.
We stayed here as part of a tour we did. I found the hotel to be in disrepair. Only 1 of the 2 elevators was working and the one that was working felt very unsafe. The inside door didn't close so the building wall was exposed as it traversed the floors. If you were too close you could be injured. The sliding glass doors from the balcony didn't lock in either of our two rooms. Our toliet kept clogging. When we called for maintenance, he used a mop to push fecal matter down and then proceeded to rinse it in our shower! We were appalled. The next day the maid was using the same mop on the floors. The maintenance man should be fired as that is absolutely unsanitary.
Nice view of Nile river. Friendly staff,
I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the start of my G Adventures tour at the end of October 2022. I arrived very late in the evening (after midnight) and I was checked in professionally and quickly, and helped to my room.
I found the hotel to be clean and basic, with friendly staff.
The included breakfast was a nice touch, and eating with a view of the Nile in the mornings was very nice.
My room was basic and a little outdated. The towels are small, the shower had warm water but not great water pressure. I had a very small window and no balcony, and my room was close to the cleaning staff closet so there was lots of chatter which I could easily hear from inside.
The restaurant charged quite a lot for bottled water compared to the grocery stores, but was one of the few places you could get a glass of wine.
If I were to return to Cairo I may not choose this hotel again. Of the hotels that we stayed at on our tour, this was the most basic.
