We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Conca D'oro and it far exceeded our expectations.
It's perfectly located just a short walk from the bustling main centre of Positano. This worked well for us as we found it to be quieter and therefore more relaxing.
The steps leading up to the hotel were well worth the extra walk as the views are incredible and when stepping inside the hotel, it felt like a world of calm away from the busy streets below.
Positano does have a lot of steps in general and not ideal for those with mobility problems but for us, having to take a few more steps to get up to the property was not a problem, in fact we were grateful for the extra exercise!
The views from our room and the restaurant were beautiful and the breakfast was also lovely.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, from the bar and restaurant staff to the reception staff. In particular, the two ladies who were working on reception went above and beyond to help us with organising our transfer and excursion.
We were sad to leave but would definitely stay here again if we ever go back.
Beautiful view. Quite a few steps to the beach though.
We had a lovely stay. The hotel is quite high up, so the view is spectacular. The hotel is very nicely decorated and clean. The rooms are small but typical of Positano. We stayed in a room with a balcony and definitely recommend to do so. There are stairs up to the hotel and therefore don’t recommend for those that require assistance. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. Special call out to Antonio, Emmanuel, Toto, Alejandro and Giovanni who always were extremely helpful and lovely to talk to. Thank you for a lovely stay!!
This hotel is absolutely stunning. The furnishings, color palette, and décor create an elevated, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Every space was spotless, and the daily cleaning service was impeccable. The staff set a new bar for hospitality—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. We even hugged them goodbye because they felt like family by the end of our stay.
We visited on a family birthday trip and took advantage of the in-house pastry chef to order a custom cake, which was both beautiful and delicious. Dining at the restaurant was a highlight—yes, a bit of a splurge, but worth every bite. The chef surprised us with thoughtful specialty offerings before and after the meal, which made the experience unforgettable. The drink menu was equally impressive, blending timeless favorites with inventive new cocktails.
Service here is consistently top-notch. The staff and servers go above and beyond in every interaction. Honestly, I’d return for the service alone. You don’t get that kind of service in the U.S. The comfort factor also exceeded expectations—the beds and pillows were incredibly cozy and I slept well every night. We took advantage of their laundry service which was done in a flash for the most reasonable price we encountered on our trip.
One note: the property does have a lot of stairs. Even traveling with a fractured foot in a boot and an older family member, we managed, but it’s worth mentioning.
All in all, this is a place I’ll absolutely return to. Between the gorgeous setting, outstanding food, and exceptional staff, it stands out as one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had in Italy.
Hotel Conca D’oro is one of the oldest and most beautiful establishments in Positano, and it radiates elegance from the moment you arrive. Our room was absolutely classy, with a balcony overlooking stunning views of the coast. While many hotels in Positano may share a similar view, what truly set this hotel apart was the extraordinary level of curated service. For my wife’s birthday, the staff went above and beyond with a once-in-a-lifetime setup — luxurious decorations and thoughtful touches that made the occasion unforgettable. The atmosphere throughout the hotel carried sophistication, warmth, and good vibes, making it a place we would gladly return to. The location is also excellent, right along the Positano road, offering convenience while still feeling private and serene.
What I didn’t like:
Honestly, there wasn’t much to dislike — perhaps just that leaving such a beautiful and welcoming place was the hardest part.
I am so glad I chose this hotel for our 6 day trip to Positano. The location is just perfect, further from the busy streets, meanwhile has the best restaurants and coffee shops within less than 5min walk. It takes abt 20min to get to Marina for the ferry and that’s just fine with us. The views are just incredible from anywhere, our room ( we having standard) from the terrace: roof top where we spend most of our mornings, and the restaurant: just GORGEOUS! Service like front desk and other hotel stuff and restaurant waiters are absolutely great!
Only few things that we missed like: coffee machine in the room and restaurant food was ok, regardless , I would be back to this hotel if I visit Positano again!
Thank you Conca Doro ❤️
This was our first visit to Positano, and we had such an amazing stay at the Hotel Conca D’Oro. Our room had a breathtaking view of the coastline and we loved the colorful tile work . A special shout out to attendants Toto, Giovani, Emanuel, Antonio, and Alejandro. Each were so welcoming and provided outstanding service.
The rooms were very spacious with a great view of both the town and ocean. Staff were cheerful and greeted us every passing. The breakfast (served on the terrace, again with a great view) and room service was excellent. Although located further up the hill away from the square, there’s a nearby shortcut down lots of steps directly to the beach.
The ancient town of Positano is built on a cliffside overlooking the beautiful Amalfi Coast. To experience this idyllic village, you will walk up and down the vertical cobbled streets. Perched towards the top is the Hotel Conca D' Oro. Yes, you will have walked up the narrow streets, and even a few more steps (that are only accessible on foot). However, you will be rewarded with the most spectacular view of Positano. The domed church and buildings, impossibly jutting out towards the sea, will be laid out before you. Is this hotel worth taking a few extra steps for? Absolutely. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the view from the balcony is impressive. Don't miss the opportunity to dine at the hotel restaurant. In our opinion, although not billed as such, it is Michelin-Star quality. And best of all, you can enjoy your meal with the best view in Positano.
Excellent experience! Thank you!
The service is excellent and friendly. It’s a family run affair and very attentive to your needs. The rooms are very clean and well serviced.. the food is good and fresh. A good selection is offered but not to the excessive level of Hilton’s for example. It’s really relaxing being here.
Our bathroom is small but it is an old building and compromises have had to be taken very well indeed. The views are amazing.. the downside is no vehicle access and some very Italian steps. If you phone the hotel on arrival at the bottom of the steps they send a big strong fella down to porter your luggage up the steps. After that it’s plain sailing
Stayed at the hotel with my daughter recently. This is a lovely hotel with amazing views from the room. Great staff too and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. We counted 108 stairs to get to the hotel so it is not good for those less mobile. We were dropped off by our taxi in the early hours of the morning in the dark and unfortunately my daughter had a fall from the stairs. I managed to get a lovely man from the hotel come down and take our luggage up as we would not have been able carry it up the stairs by ourselves. It would be helpful to have a little more lighting on the stairs at night as my daughter had a sprained ankle and bruising after the fall which we now was ligament damage. We did have some ants climbing up the inside of our wall in our room but after informing the receptionist they were very quick in sending someone up to get rid of the them and clean. Our room was very clean every day and had a cute little balcony (which we sat on and watched a wedding at the hotel). Would still recommend despite the steps.
Beautiful hotel with stunning views of Positano. As Positano is quite hilly be prepared to climb some stairs although the view is truly worth it in the end. The breakfast buffet had a great selection on offer and room service was 10/10. Front desk and waiting staff were exceptional, very helpful and attentive to our needs such as the time when we asked for our pasta to be boiled a little softer which they did straight away. Staff such as Salvatore were very helpful when serving us and went the extra mile to give us tips on the best restaurants and bars to visit in the city.
Absolutely stunning!!
Climbing the 100 steps was well worth it, it's an absolute dream!
The views are magnificent and the rooms are just beautiful.
From the moment the 2 strong young men greeted us to carry our luggage up, we knew this place was going to be amazing!
Checkin went smoothly and walking those beautifully tiled hallways had me floating on cloud 9.
Opening our door to our room left us enchanted! That view WOW and the beautiful Italian blue & white tiled bathroom was spectacular, very Grecian! But we were WOW'd by our "French" styled doors leading out onto our balcony that lead onto the huge verandah overlooking the Tyrrenhian Sea, it was breathtaking!!
We only had the pleasure of 2 nights in Positano, but every moment was absolutely superb and exactly what every dream is made of....THANKYOU
Beautiful!
We dropped post cards at the front desk, already stamped, with the promise that they will take care of mailing them. They never did.
Post card stamps in Italy have tracking numbers and we can see that none of them made it to the sorting station at the post office.
It doesn’t matter how good of an hotel you are and how hard your employees try to make people enjoy their stay. If you fail to deliver on the most basic promise, aka “we will mail your post card”, you deserve one star.
Do better.
Had a great stay, would stay again!
Hotel staff was absolutely amazing! Everyone is so friendly!
Great place to stay! Loved the location! Hated the stairs but you on a hillside n❤️
The property is absolutely gorgeous. The staff are amazing! They made our stay just wonderful. My daughter got married in Positano. We didn’t tell the staff, but they figured it out and were so accommodating and helpful to all our needs. So grateful!
