Excellent hotel but not quite what we expected, and a bit pricey.
Pros:

We had a larger room, and the location in Amsterdam was excellent. We could easily walk to everything we were interested in. The room was extremely quiet. All of the amenities in the room were top notch, but I'm not convinced they were worth the price.

Cons:

We had a large room and it was actually located a few doors down the street from the hotel itself (where the lobby, restaurant, all other rooms were located). The entrance was private, but was below street level with windows looking out on the sidewalk. If I had known this ahead of time, I would have requested a room in the main hotel on a higher floor. All of the amenities in the room were top notch, but I'm not convinced they were worth the price. We were contacted about extra taxes after we booked (in addition to the taxes we were expecting) and this contributed to the disappointment in the price.

Pros:

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic and spacious room with all the amenities. We stayed for three nights in a canal view room - watching the canal boats go by from the comfort of our sitting area became our evening routine. Enjoyed morning breakfast to start the day and the Library bar for evening refreshments. Easy street car ride to hotel from Centraal Station. Once at the hotel we mostly walked everywhere but street cars are close by if so desire. Highly recommend this hotel.
