Excellent location, near beach & shopping area, 20 mins walk to the lovely Old Town (I was in that area earlier this year) Staff very helpful and friendly. Compact hotel. Good choice of food & facilities..
We were unable to come for personal reasons, and the hotel staff were extremely understanding. They very kindly accepted to proceed with a refund based solely on our explanation, which we truly appreciate.
A big thank you to all the team. We will definitely book again as soon as we are able to plan our weekend as intended.
Thank you once again for your kindness and professionalism.
I have just returned from a week away at this hotel. It has an ideal location, close to beaches and shops, bars etc. The food was tasty and plentiful and the staff were all very attentive. I cannot fault it. Only a twenty minute transfer time from Reus airport.
I have never been to Salou before, it’s got a very lively vibe, but there are some really chilled and friendly places too.
The Hotel Golden Acqua was a delight, the entire staff went the extra mile to give us outstanding service.
We booked bed and breakfast, but after visiting the restaurant for dinner one evening, due to a sudden downpour, we ate in the hotel almost every evening after, when my partner needed medical care, the reception staff gave us sound advice and helped us in every way possible, the bar staff were friendly and helpful, and smiled, even when they were busy.
We were impressed by the housekeeping staff, the lady who looked after us on floor 5 was outstanding, thanks Anna.
Mario in the bar, efficient and very funny.
If you go to Salou, go to the golden acqua.
The staff is phenomenal. The service was not only polite and professional, but also extremely personal. It felt like the hotel was taking care of every detail. [Give a specific example: e.g. the reception helped with the dinner booking/the bartender remembered my name]. It made me feel really welcome
The restaurant staff are extremely friendly and hotel room is adequate, we went half board and there is a good choice of food but it was Luke warm.
We asked for a quite room and ended up fifth floor at the back of the hotel, turns out this is under the staff quarters, had to complain about the noise of them walking about all hours in hard sole shoes!
And no fault of this hotel the one behind has it PA cranked up to max level!
Pool area was nice and quiet but it is October
My wife and I had another excellent holiday in the Golden Acqua Hotel, Salou (from the 13th of September until the 24th of September 2025). On arrival, we were greeted by the splendid receptionists called Monica and Gemma. Thank you both for your kindness during our stay. We would also take this opportunity to thank Gloria, Christine, and all the other reception staff at the Golden Acqua Hotel for their sociability.
We had requested a room near the lifts with a pool view, and this is exactly what we got. Our main chambermaid, named Monica, was wonderful. She cleaned our room and changed all our towels daily, and Monica frequently changed our bedding. We enjoyed our brief conversations with Raul (the maintenance man), our previous chambermaid, Sandra and our enchanting friend Belen (another chambermaid).
Our appreciation for their kindness during our stay goes to Paula (restaurant manager), Lali, Myrana, Abdul, Drago, and to everyone else who works in the restaurant. Our gratitude also extends to Francisco, Bouziane and Hassan (the hospitable Show Cooking Chefs) for the assistance they provided.
Jesus and Gadi, who work in Bar Acqua, are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and everything was done with a smile and in a friendly manner. Kira (guest entertainment) was also very helpful. We know that Mario, the hotel manager, appreciates having such good employees.
Mike & Liz Dear (Aberdeen).
Absolutely loved this hotel, nice food, nice friendly staff (especially Keira) entertainment host. Would definitely recommend if you want a hotel where they make you feel special
Coming into the last few days of yet another wonderful stay at Acqua. My 3rd this year. I honestly wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else.
The staff are now family to me, and everyone I come across could not be kinder.
Again on this trip I have made some wonderful friends from the guests and will keep in touch.
Food is excellent, Paula and her team can’t do enough for you.
Gade and Jesus in the bar are so helpful in everything they do and are kept busy all day long. Just don’t let Jesus sing to you!
Kira on entertainment is an absolute star. She includes absolutely everyone and makes sure she knows everyone’s name. A gem of a girl.
Special mention to the lovely Gloria and the rest of the reception staff. It’s an absolute joy to see them each day.
I’ll be back again next year, and already can’t wait.
Love to all at Golden Acqua.
Just finished another amazing 10 day holiday at this hotel.
The beauty of this place is its relaxed atmosphere friendly staff clean rooms and decent enough food.
Kiera in charge of entertainment was excellent and loved to get all involved with activities and night time shows.
Definitely back next June see you all then.
We stayed at the Acqua in September 2024 and decided to return in September 2025, so really that shows what we think of it. This year was as good as last.
The hotel is relatively small and quiet; ideal for couples, rather than children.
Our room was plenty large enough with comfortable twin beds, pushed together, efficient air conditioning and a decent balcony. There was a kettle and a safe, although the latter is charged for, if required, at check-in. There was a television, but the British channels are limited to BBC1 & 4 and ITV1 & 2.
The bathroom had a large walk-in shower, with complimentary shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer etc. Towels were changed, and the room thoroughly cleaned, every day. The housekeeper on the 4th floor, Sandra, was extremely friendly and very good.
As last year, we stayed on a half board basis.
The restaurant got quite busy at times during breakfast, but the staff are quick to get you seated. The breakfast selection is very good and constantly refreshed - the usual buffet offering of everything you might want, plus a manned griddle for fresh fried eggs, omelettes etc. There’s still only two domestic toasters, though, so there’s sometimes a queue for toast!
Dinner was quieter - a good selection of dishes, which changed each night, with the griddle for steaks, burgers, fish and the like. One minor niggle is that the labelling of the dishes is a bit hit and miss, so you don’t always know what is what.
All the staff in the restaurant and bar are genuinely friendly, with special mention to Mayara, Paula and Jesus, and we felt really welcome.
All areas are kept scrupulously clean, there’s always a maintenance guy on site if you have any problems in the room, and reception is efficient and responsive.
We find it hard to fault the hotel. It’s quiet, comfortable and friendly, fairly close to the beach and main tourist areas, albeit up a bit of a hill, and we look forward to returning for a third time.
This hotel is just a 5 minute walk to shops and beach.Food not bad polite staff room cleaned daily Designed for couples.Could do with removing piano and moving pool table away from doors otherwise everything seemed good.
A great find and great value for money. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was any trouble. Even gave us breakfast on our last morning as we were checking out before the restaurant opened
We came back for the second time as we loved it the first time. Perfect hotel central to everything, smaller hotel than the others in Salou.
Rooms clean and beds are comfortable, cleaners came in everyday, fresh towels & toilet roll.
Breakfast was lovely plenty selection of cooked breakfasts, cereal, fruit, pastries & also had a chef cooking pancakes, omelettes & toasties served from 8.30 til 10.30
Indoor heated pool with a sauna & outdoor pool both great to chill around. hotel has entertainment throughout the day & night with a great atmosphere really good value for money & will definitely be back! Staff and cleaners both lovely no problems or concerns from us.
Food is is cold unless you heat it in the microwave
There in very little storage in the room, very little hanging space no drawers, ok if you’re only there for a couple of nights
Hotel is not on a slight incline it is quite steep if you have walking difficulties, consider this before booking
We stayed in this hotel for a week and we were very happy with everything. Location is good its just up a hill from the main promenade with a beautiful beach and lots of restaurants to choose from. Staff are very good and so helpful. The hotel is very clean and rooms are made up every day with towels changed. There is a lovely bar the Guinness Tavern across the road which serves fabulous food and staff are so friendly. Entertainment at the hotel is very good too I really enjoyed the singer on Tues 16th and the singer on Wed 17th Sept. Quiz on Thurs 18th was enjoyable too.
Location is very central, 3-5 mins down hill to the beach and many amenities.
Hotel is very clean and all staff are very friendly. We had a sea view room and would recommend this as view was great. Food very good and plenty choice. Room cleanliness was great especially when cleaned with Anny. I would say this hotel is best for adults. Overall, excellent experience and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Ok well we had room that looks onto car park very noisy morning and at night from other hotel entertainment plus during the day not good , pool area is very small not suitable for children pictures are very deceiving and have to be up nearly to get a sunbed it's a very quiet area so felt out of place felt everyone watching you . Clean rooms and breakfast very nice ,indoor pool bigger 👌 only a few minutes walk to beach but would rather walk 20 to get a room with a view and no noise .
So pleased I chose this hotel. Couldn't fault it at all. I got a lovely quiet room which I asked for which was spacious. Great shower.
Tea/coffee & kettle was provided along with a fridge and toiletries.
Cleaned every day.
The food was excellent. I was half board and was really pleased.
Water was provided at dinner and the drinks were very reasonable.
I never managed to get a sunbed all the time I was there. This is no fault of the hotel though, it's just selfish people reserving the beds and not using. It is a very small pool area.
I'm not one to be lying about a pool all day but would have been nice to come back after days out and relax by the pool for an hour. There wasn't even any chairs in the shade.
The balcony was nice and secluded but was in full sun all afternoon.
The hotel was so conveniently situated. Only a short walk to shops, restaurants, the beach. There is a small supermarket very nearby. As others have said the hotel is up a hill but it's not too bad. I just took it slowly.
I would definitely come back to this hotel if I was visiting Salou again.
Over all hotel was OK, location was quite noisy as it was very close to other hotels. I would not rate it a 4 star though maybe a 3. Jet 2 pictures were deceiving rooms much small and outside pool area was small. The beds were very hard we were given mattress toppers which help a little but made it hard to get a good night sleep TV was very old in the room and there was slight mould on the ceiling above aircon that didn't work very well. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food wasn't great all was very bland tasting and similar every night. Over all stay was OK but would not return.
