Property Description

Kastro Hotel was built in 1964. It was completely renovated and decorated in 2016 blending the past with up-to-date luxury for all visitors keen on combining business with pleasure. The three star hotel occupies one of the most convenient locations in the town, across the main shopping district, within a walking distance from the four lions square, right at the center of the town and next to the famous archaeological museum. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi for all guests.

clean, modern, close to Port
Pros:

This property is very convenient. Room very clean. Very modern. Good water pressure. This hotel area is not "pretty" or "charming." However, we felt safe and great restaurants within walking distance and did the job for one night needed before leaving Athens by plane next morning.

Cons:

My room had a sewer smell that was horrible, likely from a non-functioning toilet trap or something. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know about it. We got in late and were leaving early so we put up with it. I most certainly would not have stayed in that room another night. I did not give them a chance to correct the problem by putting us in a different room. I don't know if they knew about this problem in advance and just chose to ignore it. I did point it out them on check out and they said the equivalent of "duly noted."

My friend's room did not have this problem so it is not a "systemic issue."

Perfekte Unterkunft um Heraklion zu erkunden.
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt direkt an einem kleinen Park, durch den man in zwei Minuten im Stadtzentrum ist. Direkt beim Hotel ist ein Parkhaus ( das Auto wird dort durch die Mitarbeiter geparkt) mit dem Voucher vom Hotel, kostet der Tag €15,00.

Reasonable priced hotel in the heart of Heraklion.
Pros:

Great location and good value. Our room had a nice view and a little private sitting area, which was very pleasant. Everything seemed updated and well maintained. Nice staff and good breakfast! And just want to add that Heraklion is a great place to visit and there’s some excellent restaurants in walking distance of the hotel.

Cons:

They didn’t really have much in the way of toiletries. No lotion or conditioner, but since the price was reasonable, wasn’t too concerned.

Le moins longtemps possible dans cet hôtel
Pros:

La gentillesse du personnel, l’emplacement dans le centre à 2 pas des restaurants et zones touristiques

Cons:

La seule ouverture de la chambre donnait sur le roof top de l’hôtel où tous les clients venaient fumer.
Impossible d’aérer la chambre ou de laisser les fenêtres ouvertes.
La climatisation a donc fonctionné en continu ☹️.
Dommage car l’hôtel est super.
J’ai remarqué que les chambres réservées par booking sont les moins sympas de l’établissement…😏
