Not until I prepared my review of this hotel did I learn that amenities far exceeded what I expected. Two tour buses loaded to the gills with a combined approximate 100 guests arrived at the same time. How registration cared for so many, in addition to non-group members, is beyond me. Our group arrived late on the warmest November afternoon in Greece's history for a one-night stay. I arrived in the basic, uninspired tourist room, checked out the small balcony overlooking a parking lot and other balconies in major need of an upgrade, and turned on the a/c system. Warm air came out, so I washed a few garments in the sink and hung them in front of the vent, which billowed heat, although the temp was set at 70ºF and "cool" setting. I went to registration and was told I didn’t know how to adjust the a/c system. Duh! I live in Florida. Operating any a/c system is taught prenatal! A clerk went with me to the room, saw that I had it set on Cool and at 70ºF, but heat still saturated the room. I travel with a battery-operated digital thermometer. The temperature in the room was 82ºF. The clerk said that the guests wanted heat. Not this guest! When scores of complaints to registration AND our tour-guide, the clerk came back and said the system was centrally controlled and that heat had been turned on in the morning and not reset for a/c in the afternoon. Guess his opinion of stupid tourists not knowing about a/c changed. He sent a bucket of ice and two bottles of cold water, which I refused. Adamantly and vocally.
Now, about the surprise amenities. Since the balcony overlooked a parking lot, I thought there were no amenities. Photos of the huge pool astounded me. Had the arrogant clerk informed me about the pool instead of sending ice and cold water, I would have cooled my body and temper by taking a dip before dinner, where I had prepared a surprise for a tour member who was celebrating a birthday.
The poor guest relations and arrogance of registration clerks is the purpose of my low rating. Be advised if you stay here to ask if the ventilation system has been set for heat or a/c. Or just go to the beautiful pool not visible from the tourist-class rooms.
Everything was perfect! The room, the restaurant, the personnel, the facilities, the cleaning… we got also ice cream and two dishes on the house, very kind
It is really a great recommended choice!
We loved this hotel! It is quite beautiful and the hotel restaurant food is so, so, SO good. It is conveniently located, a short drive to the ancient village of Olympia and has a really nice pool. The grounds are beautiful. The staff went out of their way to be extra helpful, useful and kind when we experienced a medical issue while staying there.
Stayed for one night as part of a small group tour of 14 people .
Our room was fine with a walk in shower as requested by our tour company . Beds & pillows were very comfortable, possibly the best ones on our whole tour of staying in 7 different hotels .
Really nice swimming pool with stairs & handrail to enter . Terrace was nice , lots of sunloungers and a bar for drinks .
The highlight of the hotel has to be the restaurant. It’s set in an olive grove . Our table for 2 was set on a lawn right next to an olive tree !!! No mosquito bites or any other insects flying around either .
Dinner was delicious, lovely mezze , nice wine .We were gifted bread , which comes with a can of olive oil . Also a dish of okra , which we usually dislike but this was lovely.
Breakfast was served in a huge dining area . Food selection was fine .
A very pleasant stay after a very hectic day at Olympia .
A very nice hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms with balconies. Ours overlooked the pool. Unusually for Greece there was a kettle and tea/coffee provided. We had a pre-dinner drink at the pool bar but the garden taverna was set aside for a large group of Americans. It looked lovely though. Our smaller tour group had a very good buffet meal in the main restaurant with plenty of choice. The hotel is up a steep hill and too far to walk easily to the town.
Nice new and clean room, good breakfast, friendly staff
Large modern hotel but very attentive customer service. The staff have been very well trained and give a warm welcome at Reception and are very helpful. Excellent quality of room. Good swimming pool. Restaurant with outdoor seating and excellent sunset views, nice food (inc a rabbit casserole with far more flavour than I have had before). Breakfast display copious but with surprisingly little fresh fruit
Definitely a good place to stay to relax after a hot day on the Olympia historic site
Very easy to check in and check out.Beautifully located in the mountain of Olympia .Two story building decorated with wood and marble .Very specious room with bath equipped with olive oil toiletries. Adjacent is outdoor restaurant under the olive trees overlooking the valley. Simply PARADISE!!!!
Recently stayed at the Hotel Europa during our visit to Olympia, Greece. The hotel, restaurant and staff were fantastic. Beautiful setting, delicious food and exceptional customer service......would highly recommend.
Beautiful location
Great hotel, staff and facilities.
We stayed whilst making a visit to ancient Olympia and have no regrets. Everything’s was spotless, well done and quality.
This was a beautiful property and the staff were wonderful.
An incredible stay with a dream-like facility.
Such a lovely hotel with staff who go above and beyond to help and provide an unforgettable experience. The pool is great, the bar food is fab for lunches and the breakfast has a huge variety and choice so everyone has something they enjoy. The cleaning staff are incredible and our room was spotless every day. All the staff are amazing here. Marilena is one of these exceptional and wonderful people. Marilena made our trip, she sorted out car hire for us - a company that collected us to get the car and picked up the car from the hotel to save us a trip. She helped sort out the football and arranged for it to be screened in the second seating area despite it being a subscription channel, and the hotel signed up! It was the first match of the new Premier League season being played and we didn’t want to miss it! Marilena made sure we had all the current information about local businesses and areas we may like to visit plus she got to know us so quickly and became a friend who we could chat to daily! She is a gem here and she made our holiday in something unforgettable and really special. Thank you Marilena!
Lovely hotel and stay. Restaurant served excellent food.
Really enjoyed the time at Hotel Europa Olympia. Very friendly staff, very clean and amazing views. Food at the Taverna was very excellent even for my fussy teenager's.
Pool was very good and the service from the pool bar was first class.
Thank you Hotel Europa Olympia for an enjoyable few days! We will most definitely return again..
Living the dream! Dinners under olive trees with complimentary lighting, delicious cuisine and service excellence. The property is lush with fruit & nut trees, flowers, and herbs which they boast about using the freshest ingredients often from their local farm and onsite. The pool was fabulous and the chairs comfortable. Breakfast was by far the best we’ve encountered and for those that enjoy ac on a blistering hot day in Ancient Olympia, these units kept the room refreshing and cold! Would go back, highly recommend.
We had a great time here. We enjoyed the pool! We had dinner at the restaurant - great food and fabulous view!! We had to check out early and the front desk had a lovely breakfast packed for each of us as we missed the breakfast times.
What a nice place and the restaurant was really nice and affordable.
This is one of the closest hotels to the site of ancient Olympia. Hotel was very nicely situated with great views. After a touring the archeological sites relaxing by the pool was great. The restaurant is excellent - 3 great dinners.
