Hotel do Templo & SPA

I was absolutely blown away by this hotel! I booked on Expedia and messaged the hotel directly, they were very responsive. I got an amazing, spacious room with great views of Bom Jesus de Monte. The rooms are spotless and the bedding is very comfortable.

Breakfast was included, but it was extremely limited, so I stopped using it after day two. There’s no room service, but the restaurant attached to the hotel is lovely, with stunning views over Braga.

The staff are very accommodating, and the spa area is clean and also offers beautiful views. All of this for quite an amazing price. I had very little expectation going in, but I was truly impressed!

The only major downside was the air conditioning, despite setting it lower and lower (from 21°C down to 11°C), the room temperature stubbornly stayed at 25°C, which made it difficult to sleep.

O hotel é incrível, com uma vista lindíssima, muito bem decorado e muito confortável. As piscinas interior e exterior são óptimas, e permitem relaxar. O staff é extremamente simpático e atencioso.

A nossa estadia em casal correu muito bem no geral. As instalações são modernas e muito confortáveis, a recente piscina exterior tem uma vista fenomenal.
Como pontos de melhoria, apontamos apenas a presença de uma única pessoa no serviço de pequeno almoço a fazer reposição, limpeza e preparação das mesas, pelo que sendo a sala mais pequena e acolhedora pode acabar por demorar a ter lugar disponível. Infelizmente, também encontrámos alguns dos serviços do Spa em manutenção pelo que não pudemos usufruir deles.

Very nice

The place is fabulous with lots to see and gardens to explore. The restaurant views a lovely especially at sunset! And the Spa and treatments are wonderful! I strongly recommend the massages!

This hotel was a real disappointment. It is in a stunning location, and behind the old exterior, it is very modern inside. However, the service is appalling. The hotel advertises a bar which was not open and a member of our party wanted to use the spa one day to be told it is closed. Breakfast is also very average, being the same each day and with no toaster. In no way is this 4*. The rooms are well appointed but with poor storage and an open plan bathroom, which lacks privacy. I am told the service issues are due to a lack of staff, which is an issue in Portugal.

Front desk not there (often) and not really nice. I have been waiting 15 min for the check in because no one was there. The card was not correct so I get back and still not there

Lovely hotel, newly renovated. The rooms are now very relaxing and very well designed. The bed was very comfortable and bed linen was high quality. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Public spaces were very appealing and the bar was great. No restaurant but breakfast is served and is of good quality. Free parking right outside the door. The spa also has been renovated and is beautiful.

It almost goes without saying that Hotel Do Templo couldn't have a more impressive location - fabulous views and an amazing historic environment of architecture and religious artifacts. The beautiful facade of the Hotel doesn't give a hint of how contemporary its interior design is - impressive in its own terms. It's contemporary and very comfortable. The other noteworthy aspect of the hotel is the staff who are friendly and professional. The only thing missing is a restaurant; there are others nearby but the hotel is so nice, it seems a shame to leave it

We loved! Stayed for one night, one of most amazing view we had in our trip. Although the place is in need of a renovation, to have staff like Isabel and Leandro smiling at you has no price! Very good breakfast too, with fruits, bread, eggs etc. We will be back. In other words, we had the best view of the hill and payed not much compared with the other 3 hotels. It is at the top of the Bom Jesus, I do recommend having your dinner before going there so you can relax, not having to be concerned of driving hill down.

Room a little dated but excellent for tourism

I ended up staying in this hotel once again because things went badly wrong in Hotel do Elevador. This hotel is going to be refurbished soon and badly needs it. Beautiful views, beautiful building housing a forgettable hotel. We had so many problems with the room....... after two rooms full of problems in Hotel do Elevador. The management didn't bother in the least and carrying the heavy bags we had with us around, at our age, was awful! Instead of a lovely stay in Braga visiting family and friends, we landed in a nightmare! Parking is a huge problem too. Next time in Braga we will surely go for another option and there are many!

The view from the hotel is stunning , the surrounding area beautiful, couple of ice cream stalls , a fine dining restaurant with panoramic view . Difficult to find somewhere round and about for lunch so needed to head into Braga.
Uber into Braga only around ten minutes .
Hotel - rooms are a little dated but cleaned every day . No Fridge or mini bar in our room which was on our booking confirmation. Once I complained a fridge appeared ( didn’t work) fruit and wine was left for us from the manager . Breakfast , not great as there seems to be ants each morning crawling over the bread and pastries .
Our main gripe was the pool and spa is closed for maintenance, we chose this hotel specifically as it had these facilities. We were not made aware before our stay that the pool and spa would be closed . The hotel also advertised it has a bar but no , you have to ask the guys at reception for water or coffee — no alcohol ! There is a lounge area but we never used it as the bar was non existent.
I have complained to our booking agent and the hotel has refused any compensation .

Very impressive location! On the top of the Bom Jesus, on top of the world! The restaurant was fabulous and the staff very friendly. I would definately stay here again.

Great views. The location alone makes it 4 or 5 stars. Right next to Bom Jesus, lots of walking trails, garden, children's park , outdoor exercise equipment, very small but cute and romantic lake with boat rentals in walking vicinity.
Note, you have to go thru security gate to access parking area of all 3 or 4 hotels in same area.
The hotel is a refurbished older boutique style hotel, which we loved. Clean, comfortable, quiet and room darkening shutters.

Outstanding views of Bom Jesus and the city of Braga. Dining options are limited. Hotel rooms have no coffee maker and the bedding needs to be renewed.
