Pros:

The room was large and clean . The location was good and the staff were lovely

Cons:

The rooms /bathroom were a little dated (but clean) . The breakfast was ok , but nothing special

Not a 4 star!
Pros:

I was upgraded to a partial sea view room which was great. Its a beautifully well decorated hotel.

Cons:

Listing says heated pool but the hotel said they only heat the pool in summer which didn't make sense at all since a heated pool is needed in winter. They also did not provide shower caps, apparently that was only available to the penthouse. I would have expected better of a hotel rated 4 star.

It was a delightful experience
Pros:

They catered for our breakfast beds. The staff were excellent polite and friendly. The rooms were neat and clean

Pros:

1) the young lady at the reception desk when I checked in. She was friendly and offered to help me to carry my luggage upstairs to my room
2) location is good, across the street to the ocean, but far, by walk, to the town center where all the restaurants are

Cons:

1) the young man that saw me pulling my luggage from the gate to the reception desk but did not offer to help me out. He just ignored me, went indoor and waited for me to come inside
2) a second young man, who was instructed by the young lady at the reception desk to carry my luggage, did not look very happy or friendly after helping me with my luggage to my room
3) in general the personel, chefs and waiters, at the restaurant, for breakfast and dinner, was not warm and welcoming
4) I find it unpleasant to be presented a bill, after breakfast in order to force me to tip whereas the breakfast has been paid for already. Would it be more adequate for the hotel to better pay its personnel to avoid this practice that is unseen at any other hotels
5) I paid for a luxury room and got a very dated and poorly decorated room with mismatched furniture and a very old bathroom, in the old section of the building. I was expecting a more modern and tastefully decorated room in the new building section
6) In summary, the product and service are not worth the price I paid for, and there is an air of pretentiousness that is completely displaced especially for a hospitality business

Best stay in Hermanus
Pros:

Our experience at Misty Waves is awesome as always because of Lee-Ann. She is the most efficient and dedicated person that always makes us feel welcome. The room she reserves is always with an awesome view and we always feel at home. She is a very good asset to have at Misty Waves, if it was not for her we would have not returned to the Hotel. The breakfast is always excellent in the morning.

The hotel is magnificent, the rooms are superbly equipped – it really was the highlight of our entire stay in South Africa.
