Staff was OK, but one giant issue: the hot water is basically non-existent above the first floor. The water pressure is so bad, that twice the water turned off completely while I was in the shower. And about the water - the hot water was non existent as well, being only perhaps 1 or 2 degrees above the temperature of the cold water.
When I first reported this, they told me some nonsense such as "oh, most people like cool showers when they come in and it's been hot all day". Guess what - I rather choose for myself if I have to or want to take a cold shower or not.
Then about the lack of water and it turning off, they told me it's kind of "normal" around the area. In fact the day before I saw people in a restaurant taking water in buckets up the stairs to work in the kitchen. Now I get why they were doing that.
Eventually the got the water a little hotter - apparently turning up the furnace temperature. Are you really that cheap that you turn it nearly off? And why hasn't anyone else complained?
The included breakfast is OK, but nothing that you would write home about. The area is OK and easy access to food, shopping, and the beach. Oh, about the beach - google it - the beaches in this area are lets say..... pretty sad. Most will tell you to not bother, and go to a private beach club, preferably on one of the islands.
A couple of the staff where friendly. But keep in mind the issue about the hot water and the water pressure. Book at your own risk.
Great location but the hotel was dirty. We walk into our room and the door could not close properly. The bathroom had hair in the shower and sink. The room was dirty and had a smell. The staffs were nice and friendly.
1st we have to keep in mind that the place is near the coast, its located in a very convenient spot, you can walk around and have a lot of options to dine in. The staff is friendly, they will help you and accommodate your needs , its not like a city hotel, so don’t expect that experience. The rooms decent sized, the bathrooms were a bit small. I kept hitting my elbows with the shower doors. One time we were out and when we came back there was a leak in plumbing in the bathroom, the offer us to move us to another room, we stayed in the same room and they did the best to fix it, it was Sunday and they moved us to a bigger room like a day before and we decided to stay, it was not a big deal. In the first floor they have a restaurant with a very good menu. The only thing we had a bit issue was with the cleaning, we requested to get the room cleaned because of a bit of sand on the bed and when we came to sleep we still had sand on our linen of the bed so that was the only issue. But over all was not a bad experience.
Very good, in a very good and very safe location, the breakfast was super delicious
Beautiful establishment
Internet speed was not very fast for my needs
Good stay
I liked the staff! I liked that it was near the beach, shopping and restaurants. I also like that it's only a 10 minute drive from the city center/historic town. I did not like vendors coming up to me while eating my breakfast in the outdoor seating area. I did not like that property has alot of cracks and holes.
Very accommodating and friendly especially in the restaurant connected to it. Big room and great price.
It was horrible no elevator the ac wasnt working no towels in the room i booked a room that fits 4 adults they charged me and was not supposed to.. place and stafd is trash very phony and will Rob your cash and money
This hotel is very cozy and well located closed to everything. The hotel is antique so the rooms tend to have a strong “old” smell. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fresh made and delicious.
I enjoyed the location of this hotel which is located on a street near good Itallian restaurants and a Peruvian restaurant. The breakfast was also good and made omelettes upon request!
It was good
It was overall a really nice visit and great for the price . Breakfast was ok but they where willing to cook fresh items . The room I ordered was unavailable but the hotel did everything they could to accommodate me . Overall really good for the price . I would return
Staff was helpful--and they needed to be as there were some problems with the first room. Hotel is average, but there was obvious work going on to improve things. Staff was great.
Quartos simples, porém bem conservados. Wifi funciona bem dentro dos quartos. Café da manhã poderia ser melhor.
The room that was assigned to us was very old and smell bad. We had to talk with the manager asking for another room. It was not fair to have paid a high price for a horrible room just for one night.
Great staff, super friendly. Very helpful and the room and facilities are clean and well kept. Only thing I would say needs improvement is the shower, water isn’t hot and the kept getting clogged. Breakfast was also great.
Was my first trip to Cartagena and Colomia. I booked this hotel online. In all my travel, it is confirmed that you get what you pay for (or don’t pay for).
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. The team goes above and beyond to help the customer. Also has a great breakfast spread. ideal location to Walled City and easy to get to the ariport.
Cons: Hotel is very average. It requires a lot of maintenance. The rooms felt straight out another era, but not in a good way. The lighting was dim, there was a strange odor permeating through the corridor and the room. The furnitures and fixtures did’t feel like it had been cleaned in ages. I think they just need to be replaced. For me the challenge compounded when the AC in my room started making some real loud noise. The hotel staff were helpful in getting me to a different room so I could get some sleep. But it was very painful to go through that in the middle of the night. Finally, the hot water was practically non-existant. I ended up taking a shower in near cold water. Also the WiFi was very weak. The signal was better if I was in a certain part of the hotel or the room. Otherwise, even a simple access to Google.com would take minutes to load, or crash.
