Abit dirty floors. Noisy heaters. Not a very good BFT. Expensive dinner, not enough food for what you pay! Takes a long time to check in! Reception cant check if you have a booking, so everyone has to wait for the owner, who is NOT on site! You cannot park inside the property! But outside the gates. Strange rules.
The food in the hotel was expensive with no proportions to quality
I don’t think I have much to say about this hotel except to choose another hotel if you are in the neighborhood. The toilet and plumbing has a problem – I’ll leave it with that. The hotel prepared our dinner when we checked-in at 7:30 PM, food were served at 9 PM which we appreciate since there was no-other place to eat nearby and after the 7-hours car trip from Cairo without breaks, we were too tired to find a better place to eat. Please check your bills in details since we were almost charged double in our room but when I showed my booking they honored what was pre-booked price. After eating dinner in this hotel we did not bother to eat breakfast next morning after our climb to Mt. Sinai so I cannot comment on breakfast.
The cabin style rooms would have been a good option than hotel high-rise, the cabins looks good in photos from the outside until you use the bathroom; the plumbing problem makes this hotel NOT acceptable to guests. Will I stay here again? Never!
I arrived mid afternoon to be greeted with invitation for dinner. The cabins are basic but tidy and clean. Returning in the evening after visiting St Katherine's Monestary, I discover that I was the only guest. Dinner was great and more than I expected. Three course dinner.
The next morning breakfast was equally as good. Both Egyptian and Western breakfast, and fresh cooked bread.
If you visit St Katherine's and don't stay at the Monestary, this is the next place you should consider.
Very cold and we could not sleep well at night, despite the heating in the room (which is not adequate for the cold weather). Should avoid this hotel, at least in January.
The shower (hot) water is extremely feeble so we could not wash our hair (the country is dusty) but only had an uncomfortable "shower".
The hotel claims to be 3 stars but even disregard the heating problem, we think it is only worth 2 stars at most. It is also very expensive compared with neighbouring hotels.
