Beautiful and relaxing! Definitely a highlight of our tour through Italy. Highly recommend Hotel! We would certainly return in the future.
It pains me to write this review as the hotel itself and the staff were absolutely amazing and nothing short of accommodating, as well as the other restaurants on the grounds and sister hotel La Fontanelle. The grounds and amenities are truly amazing. However, it took a serious left turn when we visited their “Michelin” starred resultant Il Visibio on the last night of our stay. We’ve been fortunate enough to eat at many Michelin starred restaurants around the globe and I can honestly say this was the worst meal I’ve had in my entire life. The food was mostly unappetizing and while I can appreciate the story of each dish, they completely missed the mark on having an appetizing experience. Aside from the disappointing food we received, I got food poisoning and spent the night expelling the €600 we spent. This was likely because the food was that of road kill they found on the local streets: raw pigeon, raw shrimp, raw sheep, rotten fish, etc. I don’t mind paying for a Michelin dinner whether I agree with the flavors or not, but when checking out, we expressed what had happened in regards to the food borne illness and we were told “the food isn’t for everyone”… a disappointing response from staff given the otherwise incredible service we had experienced. Our tour of Italy turned into a true local experience as we had a visit to the Emergency Room to recover from this “one of a kind” dinner. And don’t even think about expressing disappointment or they will treat you like an uncultured annoyance who has no business critiquing their meal. Again, truly pains me to write this as the service from staff was phenomenal and detailed during the meal, although the meal perhaps wasn’t our taste and we respect that completely and remained respectful and open during the entirety of the experience. The true disappointment was in the aftermath of the disaster and the response to it.
My partner and I will remember our experience at Hotel Le Fontanelle for the rest of our lives. It was a truly blissful and awe inspiring experience that words just don't seem to bring enough justice to. The location was gorgeous- unlike anything we had ever seen or could've imagined ever seeing. The property itself was straight out of a fairytale with it's vine-covered stone walls and rustic energy, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and discreet. I could not recommend this experience more, and I truly hope to visit again some time in the future. Thank you, Hotel Le Fontanelle!
Auto kostenlos in gedeckter Garage untergebracht
We stayed at Hotel Le Fontanelle during a Duvine bike trip. This boutique hotel is stunning from the location, hotel property and grounds, and the room. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
We stayed at Hotel Fontanelle during a Backroads bike trip to Tuscany. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are large. View from the outdoor restaurant was beautiful. We enjoyed the pool. Service overall was excellent. We also appreciated the complementary bottle of wine from their sister winery which was excellent.
What a magnificent place, everything was perfect. We had no doubt the Tuscan setting would be stunning but the facilities and wonderful staff made the experience eccezionale. Don't miss a visit to Vallepicciola Winery just nearby. It too was a delight
All excellent thank you
We had a perfect stay at this hotel! 100% recommend.
The staff was incredibly attentive and genuinely caring—we never felt like anything was missing during our stay. A special shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Carlo, who went above and beyond to take care of us. We booked a private dinner at their villa, and it turned out to be one of the best nights we’ve ever had. Carlo anticipated every need and made sure the evening was seamless. When my girlfriend realized she had forgotten her cardigan in the room, he immediately brought her a scarf so she could stay warm and comfortable. This level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail truly reflects the outstanding quality of service here. We are deeply grateful—thank you for making our experience unforgettable!
Everything about this stay was amazing! The staff were so welcoming, facilities were great and food was delicious.
Nothing
Beautiful, charming boutique hotel with its own vineyards. We stayed four nights (family of 5) in two rooms and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which we enjoyed eating outside on the terrasse each morning.
We had an opportunity to use both the indoor and outdoor pools. the views from the outdoor pool are spectacular. The outdoor pool is quite shallow but the water was nicely refreshing. The indoor pool is much deeper and good for exercising in.
The Hotel is small and quiet although children were always made to feel very welcome as the sister site at The Clubhouse is an adults only hotel (though we had no issues dining there in the evening with kids). The benefit of a small hotel is you get to know the staff and our experience with the entire team was very positive. While many of the staff are serving at dinner and again at breakfast, they were always very friendly and responsive despite the long hours many of them work.
Our rooms were on the top floor in the main building and are in a traditional style. The four poster bed had a comfortable matress. We like a very dark room at night and this was easy to achieve given the wooden style shutters. The wall mounted A/C did struggle a little in the high heat but it was never too hot in the evenings even if we didn't quite get to the ideal sleeping temperature. The bathrooms are very clean but probably the most disappointing aspect of what is otherwise a 5 star experience. They are a little dated and the shower head does not produce a wide rainshower which is becoming the standard. The free toiletries were ok, nothing special.
The location is very much in the coutryside but Siena is only about 25 minutes away by car. If you are staying 3-5 nights then the 3 restaurants on site will be more than enough to satisfy you so you don't really need to be concerned about any other dining options close by.
We also signed up for a wine tasting and tour at the Vallepicciola Winery which is under the same ownership as the hotel. It was a very pleasant 3 hours away from the kids.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Le Fontanelle, it has all the hallmarks of a well run hotel with positive and energetic staff and great service. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Cadre incroyable
Amazing property! Everything was wonderful. Room was large and beautifully decorated. The restaurant is very romantic setting with beautiful views. Breakfast and dinners were wonderful! Loved the wine tour and tasting!
