Right at the (upper) edge of the Sassi you get the most from the two worlds. Easy and convenient access to all hot spots of Matera bu also to the "new" part of the city.
Not exactly a hotel but a very smart reconversion of historic buildings.
Loved staying in the Cave room! Very unique experience. It’s kind of out of the way and quite a few stairs so just be aware you will need to pick up your suitcases!
I didn’t care for the breakfast tokens. The cafes weren’t that hospitable and the choices were very limited.
Fabulous, modern, actual cave built into the hill side. Very modern. Spacious room located with a number of other "caves" in central Matera. A wonderful experience. Good breakfast.
We were warned before arrival that the room is in an annexe which was down about 100 stone steps away from the reception and therefore any luggage should be light and preferably with wheels. Lack of hot water for shower in the morning, we overheard a few other residents complaining of the same thing so beware. You can't get your car to the hotel, there is a car park about 5-7 mins walk away which costs €10/day.

The location was fantastic. Right on the edge of the Sassi old town and within easy walking distance of car parks that are not in the LTF.
The breakfast was great. The rooms were large
Our friends room was a bit noisy in the morning due to the cafes under their window and their bathroom was an unusual layout and the shower flooded into the rest of the bathroom.

We were expecting a cave room but maybe that was on me for not specifying. And when we booked it was “breakfast included” but a month before they changed their policy and breakfast was $10/person. Seems like they should honor as I booked.

Right in old town very central and close to parking area very nice suite
Video that shows how to get to rooms should indicate to use elevator because we had to carry luggage up stairs when there was an elevator available . Also from parking lot should indicate shortest and easiest way to get to hotel without stairs because there is a way and we were guided by a longer walk and stairs carrying luggage up and down 😒
