Mixed Experience – Great Location, But Needs Improvement

We stayed at the Ibersol Aquarius Spa in Salou (20-27th June 2025) and found it to be a mix of positives and negatives.

The positives:
The location is excellent — close to everything and ideal for exploring the area - 10 minute walk to beach, PortAventura and Train Station. The apartment was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and we really appreciated having a washing machine. The air conditioning and hot water worked well, and our room had a lovely view of the pool. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The negatives:
Several things let the experience down. The gym and indoor pool were underwhelming, and their opening hours (11am for pool and 2pm for gym) and rules (swim caps in pool, trainers in gym) were a bit restrictive. Check-in time was late (5pm), which was frustrating when we arrived on an early (9am) flight from the UK. There were no oven trays in the kitchen, not enough coat hangers, and no chairs provided around the pool area. The safety deposit box had a charge of 4Eur per day which seemed high.

Cleanliness needs improvement — the blankets were dirty, under the bed hadn’t been cleaned in some time, and all the door frames had water damage, which gave a grubby feeling.

Overall:
This place has potential thanks to its location and room size, but it needs better maintenance, cleaner rooms, and improved facilities to be worth a higher rating.

We stayed in a two bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. It was clean, modern and spacious. Fridge freezer and washing machine. Two huge balcony’s overlooking the pool. Close to strip and shops. Also walking distance to portaventura and train station. Very secure. Keys to get into grounds and main door and another key to get into the actual apartment. Yes there are people who actually stay in the blocks, but you never see it hear them. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here as a group of 5 for four nights. I genuinely could not fault it. The apartment was spotless, room was cleaned twice out of the four days we were there. It’s in a very central location, about a 5 minute walk to the main strip. There was two large balconies. The outdoor pool wasn’t open but that is to be expected as it was April! We paid the deposit in cash and got it back straight away as we were leaving. I genuinely would recommend if you coming on a budget!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment as a family of 5 from the end of December 24 to beginning of January 25. The apartment itself was spacious and tidy if not a bit dated and in need of some repairs, but fit our needs as we were only going to use it as a base for our stay. The heating in the apartment was not the best as some of the vents (including 2 of the bedrooms and 1 of the bathrooms) blew cold air constantly while the vent in the living/dinning room blew warm air and made this room comfortable. It was reasonably clean and tidy but we did find someone else's hair on the floor in one of the bathrooms. The beds did come with bedding and blankets but a quilt/duvet would have made our stay more comfortable especially in the rooms where the vents blew cold air. The kitchen came equipt with most of the appliances you would need, but did not come with a kettle. A plastic spatula would also have been handy as the non-stick pans in the kitchen looked new and we did not want o damage them. It was approx. a 20-30 mins walk from the Port Aventura theme park which was the reason for our visit to Salou. The location of the apartment was very good as there where lots of local supermarkets and shops and the beach was about a 15 min walk. If you are looking for a resort with restaurants, bars etc on site this is not the place for you, if you are looking for a reasonably priced self catering apartment you can't go wrong. The staff where friendly and always said "Hello" when they saw us. The only real complaint I have is that I still have not received my damage deposit back and it has been over a week since I returned home, I have also not been able to get in contact with anyone to find out why and have tried both emailing and ringing.

The apartments offered good value for the price we paid, but there are a few minor details that could use some attention:

- Two of the doors needed adjusting as they kept catching on the floor tiles, requiring considerable effort to open and close.
- The crockery and cutlery provided were quite minimal.
- Some of the skirting boards and architraves were damaged due to moisture ingress, which didn’t look great.

It would have also been nice to have some sun beds around the pool; while I was fine lying on the grass, my wife and teenage children weren’t as happy about it.

That said, our three-bedroom apartment was spacious, with plenty of room for us and four teenagers. It also had two good-sized balconies with a lovely view of the pool.

Très belle hôtel

Just back from a week stay. The apartments were very basic but very clean and comfortable. Air con was great, showers had great pressure and towels were provided! The outdoor pool was amazing, spotless and lovely temperature. The staff were so helpful anytime we needed anything. We would definitely go back. Excellent value for money and so close to the main strip!

Arrived yesterday evening. To find living room table with leg broken and olabmced on top.
Exterior balcony lighting doesn't work at all and one bedroom. Main light nit operating. Dropped a pen which rolled behind the tv unit to discover umpteen fly larvae and thick dust.
Positives. Pool lovely, showers good. Size huge and convenient for both beach and parks.
But worth the money? Hmmmmm.

Vi booket for 14.dager. Leiligheten var veldig slitt. Virket som det hadde vært vannlekkasje i hele leiligheten. Mye råte nede på alle lister.Store leiligheter med god plass, men trenger sårt renovering. Fint uteområde og fin beliggenhet. Det stod redusert renhold, men vet ikke hva som menes med det. Ingen renhold på 14.dager, eller skift av håndkle og sengetøy. Hyggelige resepsjonister.

In the first unit the air conditioning was not working The bottom of the doors and the floor boards were rotten. Stains on the couch. We were given another unit. It was identical except the air condition that did work and there was under garments left under the bed. So very disappointing. I would not recommend this property.

Booked last minute (day before), chosen for the price (very cheap) and the fact it had two bedrooms.
Good facilities at complex, shame outdoor pool wasn’t open, apartment was ground floor and had a huge outdoor space, but unfortunately due to this also ants access to the apartment.
Apartment was clean but decor/facilities very basic, no kettle or toaster & even had to request a shelf for the oven to be able to cook.
No temperature control on the fridge or extraction in bathrooms. Sofa beds (4) in front room indicate its use in the summer as lads pad -which it is perfect for.
Good help from front desk staff, & we were given access to apartment when arrived at 9am (rather than 5pm).
About 12 min walk to both beach & Portaventura.
We would stay again, but probably ask for a different room.

Couchage horrible. Isolation inexistante. Le message est tres approximatif.la piscine et spa intertieur n ouvre que de 16h a 20h .Les receptioniste sont sympa . A 10 min de la plage a pied. Tous peu ce faire a pied .

As a family of 4 we stayed at ibersol apartments salou because it was cheap, open in February and near portaventura parks, u really get what u pay for here so if ur fussy do not book this hotel ,cheap accomadation, very basic, old and run down inside, dont undrstand why guests have to pay a 100 deposit as the rooms are already in a bad state,i have stayed in much better places and never had to give a deposit. I took pictures of repairs needed to show reception staff what the room was like when we entered it ,they too did not understand why guests were asked to pay 100 deposit either as apartments are already in need of such repair,shower door even fell off while using the shower, home over 2 weeks now and have not received our deposit back,i will make an enquiry today, double bed was so hard i cant describe it,my back was in bits. Seems like some of the apartments have full time resisdents,alot of men seem to reside here, coming and going all times of day and night.i would not come back here but i did know what to expext as i had read alot of reviews similar to mine before i booked and as it was so cheap we decided to stay.Despite all this great heating system,apartments were nice n warm which is needed in february. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, they should recieve praise from managment for this.

Apartamento cómodo, silencioso y limpio, en buen estado. Recomendable para ir en familia pq es un piso completamente equipado. Recomendable 100%
