Great location as a base for exploring Duro wine valley. Nice views of river. Nearby restaurants. Pool for hot summer days. A little dated but very clean and comfortable and very good value especially for those planning on using it as their base for the area.

A lovely stay in the Douro
Pros:

Although not a recent build, the hotel was spotless, well -maintained, comfortable and offered amazing views of the Douro river. Lots of amenities (wifi, pool, etc). Solid breakfast buffet on the top floor with a view and a huge wrap-around terrace too. Staff were warm and friendly.

Interestingly and conveniently, the hotel is quite close to the train station -- and I honestly say that I never once registered any train noise! The trains aren't that frequent, but they will get you to/from Porto and Pinhão.

Cons:

The beds are very hard and a bit low for people with knee problems.

The hotel itself is on a busy roundabout, do exit with caution.
