The hotel is not a fancy or luxurious hotel.
It is more down to earth and has everything you need for a visit to Iceland.
They have a hot tub with outside area.
The staff is friendly and very helpful with information about the country and possible trips you can do.
This was our second time staying here and we were met with familiar faces and the same friendliness. Location is ideal for exploring Iceland
The location near the airport was great. It is also near a public pool that was amazing.
The property says that they have a hot tub in their amenities but you have to pay 50eu to us it! We also had to pay 60eu for a late check out which seems really steep. I would say overall it was very disappointing.
hotel at good location easy access to local supermarket next to KFC, On the way road to Golden Circle around 1 hour drive to Thingvellir National Park. We travel as 5 have 2 apartments and token extra breakfast at hotel where was very good for money .Hotel clean and staff very friendly and helpful
Petit déjeuner copieux et bon, deco sympa et typique, places pour se garer, accueil sympathique et enjoué, chambre sympa et bien équipée et confortable
My family and I stayed here for a celebration for my dad’s 60th. We had an incredible time in Iceland and a lovely stay at this hotel! We even saw the northern lights! Only thing was we had a booking for the hot tub but we weren’t able to go in as there was a frozen pipe however this did not spoil our stay! I would highly recommend this hotel to stay!
Very profressional staff, excellent position, clean and cozy rooms. Recommended
A warm base camp to return to after our days exploring Iceland. It was so warm and cosy and heaven to return to after being out in the cold all day or after an evening chasing the lights
We choose here because we wanted somewhere out of the city, where we could park and a room that had a door to outside so we could smoke and so that we could come and go at any hour without disturbing anyone.
The room was large and clean with everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and bins emptied and essentials (toilet roll and tea) topped up daily. Our only request would be a toaster to go with the microwave in the self catering room.
Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you, response via email was very speedy too. Lots of shops and food outlets nearby too and the traditional soup served in the evening was delicious.
The best part was how visible the northern lights were from the hotel, at the first hint of them there we knew to go out searching and we would find them. Then when we returned to the room we could see them in full glory just outside our window- stunning - photos were all taken outside the hotel, some were visible only though the camera and some were visible as seen in the photos to the naked eye
As some have said, on first impression when you pull up it feels a little dodgy - but looks are deceiving . We felt safe and looked after here and there was a nice community feel amongst the other guests staying too.
Thank you !
when we arrived early staff tried their best to let us check in early.. They really went above and beyond. My travel agency didn’t mention the rooms, so assumed they were all the same, but they’re not.. staff offered to upgrade our room even though it wasn’t their fault we didn’t have much of a view (room 1).
The room was clean and tidy and we were the closest to the hot tub.
Staff helped with bus routines and local taxi’s.. they told us where we can go locally to a supermarket, bakery and where to go for food.
The only reason I took off a point, is because we weren’t told anywhere about room tax, we paid to stay beforehand but upon arrival we were charge £5 per a night room tax, although that maybe in some small print I missed somewhere. We also had to sign and give our card details incase our room smelt of smoke, to ensure we didn’t smoke in the room, which is fine as we don’t smoke, outside our room the house keepers were smoking and honestly it stank, they smoked on the bench outside our room, with a basket full of bedding. Which confused me as I just signed and gave my bank details to promise our room wouldn’t smell of smoke, but workers were smoking a meter about from our room. that is why I took away a point/star. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, bar staff were always welcoming and friendly.. we will be returning :)
Thank you.
We stayed at Hotel Laxnes last week for 5 nights, everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Its our 3rd stay at the hotel and the staff have always been fantastic. The hotel is just a 15 minute bus ride from Reykjavik with a bus stop right outside and tours will pick you up from Laxnes too. There are some lovely walks and you can see seals in the sea on a good day. I always felt we had more chance of seeing the Northern Lights, staying out in the country rather than in Reykjavik. We were so lucky with this. Not only did we have an amazing Northern Lights tour but we had the Lights dancing for us all other nights right outside the hotel. You wouldn't get that in town. Proof we were definitely in the right place !
Stærð á herbergi og framúrskarandi þjónusta. Hægt að fara í pílu og pool.
