This hotel feels like a property that was probably outstanding 10–15 years ago, but today it is clearly showing its age. Visible wear and tear in the rooms, outdated technology, a small and dated spa area, and a service level below what is common in comparable luxury hotels all contribute to a feeling that the property has not kept pace with modern standards.

One particular disappointment was that, while the hotel is part of a large country club development, hotel guests have limited access to several areas. As a result, opportunities to walk around and enjoy the wider grounds are more restricted than one might expect from a resort of this scale.

The property seems to rely heavily on the reputation it built years ago. With a significant renovation and renewed focus on service, it could once again be an excellent luxury resort.
