Pros:

My stay at Empress Hotel was a most wonderful experience. Empress is located in a beautiful and safe city, Chiang Mai, and it's close to EVERYTHING. You can walk to many restaurants, and the major markets are all within a walking distance. The people of Chiang Mai are friendly, and the cost of living is low. The staff are so friendly and courteous. My birthday fell during my stay at Empress, and they lavished me with so many gifts! What an experience. I thank the staff for the outstanding hospitality.

Pros:

Large and older hotel with some character. Excellent value for the price. Lobby is very nice looking. Caters mainly to tour groups and not business traveler like me. Easy walking distance from major 5 stars international hotels where conferences are held.

Pros:

Beautiful lobby. Upon checkin they gave us a gift bag full of goodies. Room is good sized, beds are on the soft side. Too bad breakfast is extra. A long walk to old town and markets.

I really enjoyed my stay the staff were excellent. The rooms were nice. The breakfast buffet was really good.
A couple things I didn’t like was you had to pay to use the safe in your room. I also wish they had better dining options. They had a very limited menu in the restaurant. But other than that, my day was very good.

This property has nice pictures but in reality it looks like it hasn’t been updated in many many years. Also tye staff’s English was very limited and they weren’t very helpful.

The check in process was so easy and we get upgrade it and we get two bags of goodies with six Evian bottle of water I was very impressed I will go back definitely.

It's a nice property. Has that regal feel with oriental design elements everywhere. it's a larger hotel vs. a botique hotel so they have many amenities on site, and it's really well staffed. Property is kept up very well. I thought the pool area was a highlight as it has a nice view of the mountains in the background. I really liked their green pool towels. I never see that color anymore.

Happy Stay at the Empress
Pros:

Friendly, respectful, helpful staff. Good location, easy access to church, to transport and food hubs. Close to Night Bazaar. Breakfast is good, lots of fruits, too. Reasonably priced. Happy to stay in this hotel. Will stay again if we're back in ChiangMai.

I was very impressed with this property. Stunning hotel. We were given a big shopping bag of water and snacks upon arrival and had fresh fruit in the room. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Highly receommended.
