Great location the resort is not bad, but could be improved. The three waters and the Amara Cay better for sure.
Pros:

The property is cute and has great potential and needs a little TLC. Customer Service, excellent friendly staff the sister resorts are excellent.

Cons:

There’s trash out all over where they need to clean up just you can’t swim. It’s not a beach to swim at, but there’s a lot to do other than that.

Great place for kayaking
Pros:

I stayed at two resorts in the keys and I really enjoyed this resort. My favorite part of the resort was that they offer kayaks, paddle boards, bicycles at no charge for their guests to use throughout the day. I went out on the kayak every day I was there and saw a baby turtle, stingrays, a nurse shark and a lot of fish around the docks. Great area to fish off the docks and they have fishing rods and bait available for purchase. There is also a great pool area with a bar and snacks. There is a very small beach however if you’re looking to swim or have kids wanting to swim in the water there isn’t really a good beach area. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach at least the time of the year I went in April. So if you’re looking for swimming on the beach, probably not the best resort for you, but there is an amazing pool and once you get past the beach area, the water is beautiful and clear and shallow for a very long ways out. The property is also walking distance to quite a few restaurants. The rooms are a bit older and in need a little bit of TLC however, they were very clean and spacious. I actually preferred this resort over the more expensive resort I stayed at in the keys. I just liked the charm, lots of different building styles. The property grounds were also very nice. Lots of areas to lounge play games. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting the keys.

Islamorada beauty...
Pros:

Enjoyed our stay immensely. The grounds are lush and the rooms are large. The staff was friendly and helpful. Some beautiful views of sunrise. The only negative was the pool bar only served beer, wine and seltzer (no hard liquor). That made us go somewhere else whenever we wanted a drink.

Great family resort and fun
Pros:

Perfect resort for a large family. Plenty of room to stretch out in and out of the room. Laid back atmosphere with access to 2 other resorts. Perfect combination of properties for everyone to enjoy! We’ve stayed here twice and hope to many more times.

Poor service. Great marketing pictures
Pros:

I’m not sure I would ever stay at La siesta again. It has potential to be a good resort but the lack of process, management, communication and hospitality makes me think that it won’t ever be (unless a new management company takes over). This will also make me steer clear of their sister resorts, Amara Cay and Three waters.

Room issues aren’t taken care of (like broken floor boards, broken shower valves, broken fridges, missing curtains) - resort issues aren’t taken care of (broken pool drains around the entire pool, very dirty pool, unkept beach area) and lack of service and direction for guests (no direction on pool towels, not refilling pool towels when you finally find them, no clarity on where to put used pool towels which leads to piles of used towels everywhere, trash being left around the pool).

You, the paying customer, are ignored! This is by far by biggest complaint. When trying to check in our room wasn’t ready, that’s fine - front desk said they would call when it was ready. Did they call? Nope. I had to go back in to the office and the same front desk person said my room was ready after I gave my name. Next my husband went to the office to get room maintenance to come to our room (missing curtains in bedroom and non-functioning fridge). The same front desk person said maintenance would be to our room in a few minutes. TWO hours later no one! My husband had to return to the front desk to urge them to send a maintenance person. The maintenance person finally arrived 20 minutes later. Due to the lack of back up supplies we were unable to get a curtain and instead, a blanket was zip tied to our curtain rod. There were no backup fridges.

When we left the resort my husband asked to speak to the manager, of course the manager wasn’t in yet. The front desk person collects their fees (of course customer keeps paying and the resort gets away with cruddy service) along with our phone number. We were told the manager would call us in an hour. It’s been over 36 hours and not a phone call. He even called their HR line and nothing. Complete and utter disgrace of management, customer service here.

We came very close to leaving this resort. Heck, a motel in Key West was cleaner and offered much better customer service and direct communication.

Being Easter week, there were limited to no options for us to transfer. So- we stuck it out and tried to get away from the resort as much as we could. We stayed out of the pool (it was so dirty) which was sad because the pictures and marketing portray this place to be immaculate- what a lie!

Great place for family stay in Islamorada
Pros:

Wasn’t sure exactly what to expect due to some mixed reviews, but we were very happy with our stay at La Siesta. We booked a two level garden view room for family of 6. We were on the 3rd/4th floors that provided beautiful views! We had two huge, private balconies and a ton of space in the rooms. Rooms are basic, but clean. Pool was never crowded and the perfect spot for afternoon hang outs with our family. Lots of space on the waterfront including a small beach area with ocean swimming access. There’s a small pool bar (beer, wine, shelters but no liquor) and food available. The ability to visit the sister resorts is cool, but we liked La Siesta the best! The other two are bigger and have a more typical, busy resort feel. Shuttle was easy to book and relatively quick. Water taxi wasn’t running and kayaks/SUPs couldn’t be used due to high winds during our stay. That was disappointing as those amenities would’ve really added to our stay, but not fault of the resort. Islamorada location was great with several restaurants nearby. We enjoyed Papa Joe’s for a nice dinner, Lazy Days for great happy hour with a view. Would stay here again and recommend to others if you’re looking for a relaxed, quiet, family focused stay in the Keys!

Beautiful, natural relaxation with a welcoming feel
Pros:

The hotel was beautiful and everything is right there! Ocean, pool, tiki bar (note it’s not a fully licensed bar.)

The room was beautifully kept and had a separate room area that fit our family of 4 perfectly.

People at the pool were friendly and loving the chill vibe. You can also utilize their sister resort “three waters”. This is where the Starbucks and actual restaurants are.

Cons:

The week was windy so we weren’t able to use the water taxi or beach sports at all. That was a big part of the hotel appeal.

I understand it was weather but could have been communicated better.

Wonderful time at LaSesta.
Pros:

I like that. The 2 rooms for 2 couples was very private being on separate floors.
Love the Rum-Runner for taking a ride to the other resorts.
Also, really appreciate the taxi service to local store

Cons:

Did not like the music selections at the pool.
We did enjoy the music selections. At the 3 waters.pool.
The televisions were a little bit difficult and did not all have the same channels.
