Professional property host/manager
The hotel itself is clean tidy and staff are helpful however, you CANNOT stay here without a car the position is if it in conjunction to any facilities is useless. There are NO local bars, cafes, restaurants etc in realistic walking distance. Whilst the bar facilities are acceptable the restaurant had the same menu every night!! This is something I have NEVER heard of in all my travels around the world, and NO vegetarian options at all. I do not usually write reviews but be warned this hotel is not for a holiday just an over night salesman.
Checked in was smooth but I had to ask some of the questions about the facilities.
Went to the indoor pool and saw some people without swim cap has they required.
My daughter cut her foot on a broken tile, took the tile to reception and the receptionist didn’t ask if needed a plaster or first aid treatment.
Mentioned the people not wearing swimming cap and someone went over and took action.
They have CCTV cameras but they don’t have the time to check it…
At night I had to open the door and tell off people who were talking loudly in front of reception, it was 23.20 and the reception staff didn’t take any action till I called them…what is the reception staff doing?? It’s two meters from reception!!
In the morning went to reception and asked for the duty manager and they gave me the reservations manager.
Exposed what I have been experiencing plus the fact that the shower gel and shampoo dispenser wasn’t working and the first thing that she asked was if I was a guest at the hotel.
Then she compared the events that I had to a cliche…. Not good enough.
She said that she had no time to see anything from the previous shifts and she had not checked her emails..
She said that she would come back to me…never did…
Following day we checked out and the only thing that I was asked was if I had anything from the mini bar…not even a question about my stay at the hotel…
Very poor customer service…
Lovely place.very helpful staff
Highly Recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this location and the property was great. It was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable.
The location was perfect— peaceful and quiet with a free shuttle to town. Great views of town, the ocean and spectacular sunsets.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend it to friends and family. If you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it!
Thank you,for a trouble free experience!
Second time at this hotel and they have remodeled nicely. Good service and breakfast. No problem with the parking.
Will stay here next time in Nazare.
Staff was super friendly but several negative points stand out. Buffet at supper was overpriced and everything was cold, even the soup (fyi we arrived at opening time). No towels left after cleaning only to be dropped off later in the afternoon but small hand towels not shower towels. Finally the mattress was very hard, uncomfortable for my liking.
We only stayed one night. Breakfast was great and we had some snacks in the bar near the restaurant which were also good, large servings. Easy parking and check in/out. Not much in the area for other food options.
Directions to hotel were difficult, parking was limited, room had no available outlet for coffee/hot water carafe or desk lamp and bar menu/food was terrible. Otherwise, hotel was attractive with beautiful views and friendly staff.
Their morning receptionist not nicenl, their wine cooler not working, we had to park on the side. Very inconvenience
1. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere!
2. You have no means of getting to town as the hotel shuttle only has 8 seats and goes 4 times a day.
3. You have to walk 45 minutes for the nearest shops, restaurants, beach.
4. The food at the hotel is dismal.
5. The rooms are small and dark.
6. The walls are paper thin, you can hear EVERYTHING!!! from the next room, including snoring that will keep you up all night.
7. Screaming children running everywhere.
8. Beds are extremly hard, you will get a back ache and of very poor quality--you can feel every spring.
9. Pillows are of very poor quality, thin, lumpy and and smell bad.
10. They do not use proper bedlinen for the duvets--there is only 1 sheet under the duvet so you will end up touching the dirty and unhygenic duvet that others have touched before. My suggestion-sleep fully clothed not to touch it.
11. My balcony door was broken and did not close properly. On the groubd floor!
Disappointing Experience with Limited Amenities
My stay at this hotel was, unfortunately, a significant letdown due to limited entertainment options, overpriced dining, inconsistent service hours, and uncomfortable facilities.
**Entertainment**: In 2025, it’s surprising that a hotel lacks engaging activities for both adults and children. Live music was available only during dinner service from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, which felt restrictive. The bar lacked ambiance, with just background music and no lively atmosphere. The pool table was unmonitored, leading to unpredictable wait times of 30 minutes to 2 hours. For families, there were no kids’ clubs or activities beyond a mini-golf course, which was unenjoyable in the scorching sun. A “DJ” played by the pool for the first two days but was absent thereafter, leaving the hotel feeling devoid of energy. Even for a “relaxed” vibe, some form of guest entertainment is essential.
**Dining**: The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a variety of fresh breads, pastries, and options, though the menu was repetitive for longer stays. However, the absence of lunch service at the restaurant was inconvenient, forcing guests to rely on the bar, which operates on a limited schedule (1:00 PM to just before dinner). The dinner service was exorbitantly priced at €31 per adult and €14 per child, and the quality did not justify the cost, making it a poor value.
**Pools**: The indoor pool was preferable to the outdoor one but felt like a sauna, with oppressive heat that made it difficult to breathe or stay for long. The outdoor pool was decent but heavily impacted by Nazare’s unpredictable weather, shifting from hot to windy and cloudy, which limited its usability.
**Rooms**: The rooms were adequately sized, but the children’s bed was broken in the middle, which was unacceptable. The balcony would have benefited from a small table for relaxation or snacks.
**Location**: While the hotel isn’t responsible for the surrounding area, the nearby vicinity felt quiet and lacked attractions. A car is essential to reach the city center, as there’s little to do otherwise.
**Staff**: The staff was a bright spot—friendly, helpful, and consistently positive, which was much appreciated.
**Overall**: This hotel fell short of expectations with a lackluster experience that didn’t justify the cost. I’d rate it 1.5 out of 5 and won’t be returning.

Très bien
We stopped here on the way from Porto to Lisbon for two nights.
The good things:
- fantastic view including sunset
- kind and helpful staff
- free parking
- good value for money with dinner buffet. It was quite tasty and with many options
- swimming pool was nice
Could be better:
- road to the hotel is narrow and with holes. Could be tricky for unexperienced drivers
- breakfast was poor with poor choice. 8 types of bread, 7 cakes, but not a single fresh vegetable. Hot options were also limited
- the additional bed we got for our son was not comfortable and when you sat in he middle it was collapsing
- sleeping with open window meant you got a lot of bugs in the room that bite
- you could hear you neighbours escpecially if they were chatting on the balcony
- number od things in the hotel / rooms / bathrooms were in need of repair / replacement. Looks like hotel was not renovated since opening in 2009
- hotel is far away from the center and you need to walk 40 mins or drive if you want to go out or visit the beach
We also got voucher form thalasso circuit but did not realised it is in completely different place (near the beach). After reading opinions about the thallaso place we decided to skip it.
Overall hotel is fine place to stay for 1-2 nights especially if you like great views but would like to stay there any longer.
We were in Portugal for 12 days and stayed in eight hotels and had wonderful experience everywhere, except here. This is only negative experience we had.
First are ok things: Room was good size and was clean. Breakfast was good.
Now not so good things:
1. Hotel location is very remote. You definitely need a car if you want to go to town or have a dinner, since hotel restaurant food was hardly eatable.
2. Front desk. I asked to make a reservation in the town restaurant but was told that they not allowed to do so.
3. Management.
This hotel has gated parking, and we parked our car there. On the second night somebody broke car window, but nothing was stolen (nothing was left in the car while we went to our room). Our car was fully insured, so we did not have much concern about money loss, but we still needed to keep moving.
Real frustration started when I reported this incident to the front desk, and they called assistant manager. Her first words were: It is not our responsibility. No sorry, or do you need any help?.
When I asked front desk gentlemen to call my rental company, he suggested I use my own phone. I explained him that my phone was from US, and it would be international call for me. Eventually I was able to use their phone, but I think it should be handled differently.
Next step was them saying that they need check the camera, but by law only police can have access to it. Half our later manager arrived. She basically ignored us but talked to police and told us again that only police have access to the camera. After I asked, they did help cleaning the car and patch the broken window.
Later on, manager called police and told them (despite what she told us before) that she did access the camera, and window was broken before we arrived at the hotel.
That is very hard to believe because while we were in town I had my backpack on the back sit right where window was broken. I am not sure why you would anybody brake car window and leave stuff inside? Also, I would definitely see broken window while removing my backpack to take it to my room.
In conclusion, I would not recommend this hotel.
All good should offer a shuttle or path to access the town if you don’t have a car you are totally isolated
The hotel had a beautiful view of Nazare from the hillside. We were given an upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious with a nice deck. We enjoyed the breakfast.
Beautiful view, poorly maintained.
Wonderful place
