My partner and I visited this hotel last summer and we were really happy to finally have an all inclusive vacation, considering that we are only 20, and it was at a good price. We were happy that we had all the food and accommodation at one place, and we never ate anywhere else except for the hotel. One night my partner started throwing up uncontrollably every 30 minutes and having diarrhea after dinner (I did not eat dinner that night). I went to the reception the next day to ask if this was normal, and to ask for help because I was sure it was food poisoning. The lady just told me that she has heard this from other guests, and assured me that its probably just a virus going around. The same night, I got an extremely high fever and also started throwing up and having diarrhea. It ruined our vacation, but that is to say the least. We came home, and a couple of days later, I started seeing black dots in my vision, and went to the eye doctor, where they immediately sent me to the hospital, and diagnosed me with chorioretinitis which apparently came from a toxoplasmosis virus. This was all new to me, but the doctor has started asking me questions about if I have eaten any uncooked meat or not welly handled meat, or eaten unwashed fruits, and I was like no, I pay attention to these things, but I think I did have food poisoning a couple a weeks ago, on my vacation at Mitsis. The doctor then took tests, and identified that I had toxoplasmosis right around the time of the vacation, and it infact was not a small food poisoning thing. So overall, I am never going on an all inclusive vacation again after nearly going blind and taking steroids and antibiotics for months, it is not worth it..at least not at hotels that don't have basic hygiene :(
I wanted to first of all thank everyone at the hotel from you guys in the back office, to the reception staff, to the colleagues on both bars, the main restaurant, the satellite cafes and restaurants, the poolside and beach staff and finally, and certainly not least, the wonderful staff who cleaned our rooms, stocked our mini-bars and brought us our blue towels in the evening.
Everyone we came into contact with was magnificent, from minute one of our arrival, right through until our departure on the evening of Friday 19 July.
We were given a lovely welcome by the night receptionists and upon seeing our accommodations, in spite of our weariness, it was a delight. Thanks are due to Lefteris for placing us in such lovely rooms; the amazing views, the light and fresh décor, the comfy beds and pillows, the copious storage space, the fully stocked mini bar and nicely tiled bathroom, we were grateful for all those things. I will keep the eleven sunsets that I witnessed from our balcony in my memories forever!
We enjoyed the main restaurant at breakfast, particularly the egg station, special thanks to the lovely colleague who worked on there every day, always with a smile and a joke, as we took advantage of her great work every day, other than the two occasions we enjoyed your excellent brunches. The À La Carte experiences we had in the Italian and Pan Asian were excellent. The plates served were authentic and imaginative with excellent ingredients and superb presentation.
We enjoyed our days around the pool and we would often end the afternoon as the pool closed with a spell on your beach, where the breeze provided welcome relief from the hot sun and still air around the gardens. The drinks on offer were excellent and it was great to see that the cocktails were all freshly prepared every time. Many international brands in evidence too.
I should add that the bands who played on the terrace bar were great on the nights we were there to see them.
I have to refer to the fact that my partner, and then our daughter and son in quick succession, all suffered from sickness and diarrhoea for a period of three days around the middle of our holiday. I survived to make the visits to and from the chemist. Our daughter was pretty bad but your receptionist called the doctor who was with us within 90 minutes of the call. His advice and prescribed medicine gradually did the trick and we were all ok again by the Saturday afternoon.
I really do have to commend the efforts of all your staff in helping make this difficult few days as bearable as possible. Initially, your cleaners, Andriana and her Ukrainian colleague game in and cleaned our bathroom after my partner had been ill. I had done my best in the night but they came in armed and ready and deep cleaned the bathroom. Then our particular praise and gratitude goes out to Yiannis, one of the senior staff in the restaurants. He ensured that my family were looked after with specifically requested food, as recommended by the doctor, and he ensured it was taken to our rooms while the three family members were having to stay in as they recovered.
So to sum up, we loved Rhodes Town and Lindos, had a great stay at your property and will be excited to return one day to see what has happened with your new project.
Many many thanks once again to the entire team for the excellent time we had.
The Dickinson Family
This was our 12th trip to the hotel and 14th time to the lovely island of Rhobes. We have visited the hotel through various travel agencies but the one constant thing we have found is the excellent staff and facilities. You can walk to the incredible Old Town and the Aquarium is only five minute walk away.
The evening entertainment is excellent and the choice of restaurant is unmatched anywhere.
Please, please, please consider this excellent jewel of a hotel.
Although the hotel will be closing soon for refurbishment it is a hotel to consider for the future.
We have also stayed at other Mitsis hotels and they all have the brilliant staff and facilities.
Once again I have spent two weeks at Mitsis Grand Hotel and as usual I never get disappointed. Very relaxing. Good food everywhere and so on.
After visiting Grand so many years most of the staff are like friends.
My husband and I have visited Grand
since 1999 and later it became Mitsis Grand 2011. The last years I have travelled alone.
I would like to thank mr Niko and mr Lefteris and all the staff for your kindness during many years.
We wish all of you good luck when Grand reopen 2026.
Mr Konstantara
This was my third time staying in Rhodes, and once again, I chose Mitsis Grand Hotel, and it did not disappoint! Having traveled extensively and stayed at numerous all-inclusive hotels across Greece and Cyprus, I can confidently say that this hotel remains one of the best ultra all-inclusive experiences I’ve ever had.
If you're a foodie, this is the place for you! The hotel features four restaurants: Greek, American, the new Kitchen Web, and Creperie. The main restaurant is nearly open around the clock, offering a variety of delicious options.
Kosta serves up amazing pizzas from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM with a range of toppings. He’s not just a pizza maestro; he’s incredibly friendly and always ready to chat, making the pizza experience even more enjoyable. Whether you want a classic margherita or a unique combination of toppings, Kosta is there to whip it up with a smile. His passion for pizza is evident in every slice, and you can even request special toppings to suit your taste. He truly elevates the dining experience!
One of the highlights of my stay was the service at the Kitchen Web restaurant, where Stergios, the waiter, provided exceptional service. He’s truly the best, always attentive and ensuring we had everything we needed while presenting high-quality food.
Then there's Violeta from the Creperie restaurant. No words can do justice to her talent! We’ve seen her every year we’ve visited, and she never fails to impress with her sweet and savory crepes. Violeta is warm-hearted, friendly, and full of great recommendations for things to do in Rhodes; you could easily spend hours chatting with her.
Lefteris Mandanis was an absolute standout during our stay. Not only is he incredibly friendly and welcoming, but he also speaks multiple languages fluently, making communication easy and enjoyable. He greets everyone with a warm smile and genuinely cares about ensuring guests have the best experience possible. Lefteris has a knack for making conversations fun and engaging, effortlessly sharing local tips and stories that added a special touch to our visit. His professionalism and warmth truly made us feel at home.
Dimitra from the front office was another star during our stay. She greeted us warmly every time we left or returned to the hotel. Her professionalism shone through as she resolved any issues in a matter of minutes, all while maintaining a friendly demeanor. We also appreciated that our flight was late at night, and the front office kindly arranged a late checkout for us free of charge. This allowed us to keep our room, making it easy to pack and prepare for our departure in a relaxed manner.
I must also mention George, the bellboy, who was a tremendous help during our stay. He assisted us in moving our things from place to place with ease, always with a friendly smile and a can-do attitude.
The bar scene was fantastic too! There was a bartender with a lip piercing who created some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, even accommodating special requests with ease. His creativity and skill made every drink an experience in itself.
As for the pools, while nothing is perfect, I have to mention that the water can be a bit cold. You might not want to stay in for too long, but it's not a big deal because the sun is hot, allowing you to dry off and get a nice tan quickly. It’s a fun way to grab a pizza from Kosta, pair it with a cocktail, and enjoy some sunbathing by the pool. The pools also have plenty of sunbathing chairs and beds, making it easy to relax and soak up the sun.
The location of the hotel is perfect—just a one-minute walk to the private beach and only 7-10 minutes from the shopping center, and the beautiful Old City.
Considering all the fantastic aspects I’ve highlighted, I wholeheartedly recommend Mitsis Grand Hotel. You will undoubtedly enjoy your stay, and if you encounter any issues, the wonderful staff will go above and beyond to ensure your experience is nothing short of amazing!
And now... you can see the pictures I took from there, and drool!
First time to rhodes and i was very impressed. The hotel is beautiful, clean and modern, tradional style bedroom (i think) but very spacious, very comfortable bed.
Every single staff member was happy, always smiling and very helpful.
All the food was amazing, great decent drinks and a huge choice of cocktails.
I absolutely could not fault one thing.
Great sea view room. Walking distance to new town where theres lots of bars, restaurants and shops. And not really much further to old town. If you don't mind maybe 20 mins walk.
We will definitely be back. Thank you.
Hope all the staff had a great last night closing meal and party, i am sure you have all worked very hard
The hotel is closing until 2026 for a well needed update , however it was still a 5 star experience.
We're seasoned travellers , and were so impressed by the level of service. The food was very good , and the location is near the Old Town .
We were given a room upgrade and the view to sea was beautiful. The rooms are large, very comfy, good air con and lots of storage , the bathrooms are dated .
Like many large hotels the public areas lack any ambiance and are very brightly lit, the ' a la carte' restaurant serve good food , but lack of ambiance , but all that will be fixed with the re- modelling .
I dont generally get to know staff as we are out exploring every day , but Katholica in reception is exceptional in her manner, her friendly welcome and all she did, I actually found myself checking if she was there as i went through the foyer to give her a wave .
Initially upon arriving you’re greeted by the amazing staff at the hotel who throughout our time were amazing.
Frequent mini bar , towel, refreshment checks on the room and turn downs.
All the public areas of the hotel are well presented and the room we were placed it was above acceptable however we’re aware they’re refurbing the hotel so this will only get better.
The food choice from the 3 food courts by the side of the pool is great and everything tastes amazing as well as the Italian which you can prebook.
The buffet food is as expected with inclusive buffet food but never had any complaints and all the drinks at the bar were great.
Would highly recommend this hotel!
We had a wonderful holiday. The hotel is due to close for a much needed refurbishment. The rooms are tired but the staff are wonderful, friendly and accommodating.
Special mention must go to Danai and Anthony in the front bar. In my wife's words,'they made our holiday'. They were friendly, engaging, and professional. Thanks also to Rafail in the buffet restaurant for his attentive and friendly service.
I expect this hotel will be superb when it reopens as long as it keeps hiring staff like those working there at present.
Great stay with Mitsis, Again !
20 + visits to a Mitsis hotel over as many years.
This was our 4th stay at The Grand over the last 5 years.
Knowing that it will be closing for a refurbishment nexyt year I did wonder if the facilities and service would suffer and be below par. No need to have worried, it was as good if not better than other visits. Looking forward to seeing you all again at The Grand in 2026 when the refurbishment has been completed thats for sure.
A first-class team make a hotel not just the brick and mortar.
Big thanks to all the staff making our visit most enjoyable with a special thanks to
Popi Saroukou (Captain) in the main restaurant.
10 out 10 for Cleanliness, Food Quality and Variety, Facilities offered.
Entertainment this year was the best yet especially the guys from South Africa.
Thanks again for a great stay.
NT
The greatest hotel in Rodos town. They love ❤ families , all staff is loveable. Especially all the team in the main restaurant. Ms Popi who is the captain has to deal nearly with everything. Of all the waiters and waitresses are excellent. Thank you very Grand hotel we are having a great experience 8 years now. You are top. Congratulations 🧄🧿🇬🇷🥇
Our stay was amazing! First the food selections is unbelievable, 2 bars, 3 restaurants, buffet and an additional special resturants and branch you can choose from.
The most important is the stuff, super smiling always helping and welcoming even in the odd hours of the night (some restaurant open until 2 or 4 at night).
The only downside if i nitpick is that the hotel is not new and it is shown a little in the room but really the greek decore is timeless and everything is clean and organized.
You can get there by bus from the airport, has lot of shops and restaurant near by.
It is 13 min walking distances from the shopping area and 20 min from the old town of course by car its few minutes drive
from the first day to the last i was poorly due to virus running riot through the hotel. This holiday was saved up for 2 years prior for a family getaway and i spent all week in the hotel room due to the virus.this is absolutely unacceptable.also all other party members were poorly also.utter disgrace.
Great location. Attentive staff.
Friendly welcome on arrival from George who took cases up to the room and explained a few things on the way up. Very swift check in. Room with lovely sea view. Great food options. Late check out available.
The location was wonderful and we had a sea view room right by the beach. The rooms were dated but very clean.
The property is at a perfect location and walkable, the beach is across the street and the staff is outstanding.
It was our 2nd visit to the Grand, and this visit seemed better than the first (last year in May). Food great (even my partner was pleased....must be good😊), staff helpful and attentive from luggage man, reception (thank you), restaurant staff (thank you Marios and team) and cleaners/house keeping...to be honest outstanding service from all! Room great...worth paying a little extra for sea view....get the sea and the sunset! Being upgraded in 2025, so not open 😪....really, does it need it!, lovely old building but not tired....worth waiting for 2026 when we will rebook.....thank you Grand Hotel, very happy.
This hotel is NOT a 5 star. While on paper it might be with the facilities and amenities it has to offer, the standard is not 5*. I'll begin with cons:
1.the sunbeds are so flimsy - they flipped my husband and I off our individual ones so many times - also when we laid back, they just completely snapped back! Unsafe!
2. Pillows were too high and hard to the point I had to sleep without or sleep on a towel!
3. Cleanliness - the hotel room balcony had cockroaches. The rooms were not cleaned - I came back to my room and found my used hot drink mugs just returned to the desk for re-use! There was a previous guests hair left on the hotels toiletries bottle and wasn't cleaned at all for days until I decided to clean. The rooms are outdated and are not soundproof. If you get a room by the main large round pool you won't have quiet-ish time until the entertainment stops around 2300hrs which was hard for us with very young kids.
4. Entertainment was a bit naff- probably more suited to older/more mature guests
Pros
1. Great location - while it doesn't have a private beach, it does have designated sun beds for hotel guests on the beach right in front of it. It's a pebble beach though. Also only a 10 min walk into Rhodes town and has plenty of shops/restaurants around
2. Staff at the hotel were lovely - can't fault them at all especially Irinia
3. Good food/restaurant varieties
4. Kids club was amazing - Irine&Marisia!!
5. Could get a sunbed/pool options & space
The hotel was nice, staff were excellent, the rooms not as I thought will be for the Mitsis chain.
Disappointed, in the room were 🐜 , didn't allow me late check out even though Im a gold member they wanted me to pay them for late check out something that in every hotel I've been I got.
