Candlewood Suites Columbus Fort Benning by IHG

The staff were wonderful, especially the manager with white hair. Our room was great with a well stocked kitchen area (stove top, large refrigerator, dishwasher, dishes, cookware, etc). It was very quiet. The mattress felt comfy and new with assorted pillows. The best thing was the amazing shower. The best shower head ever. The soaps were very nice. The room had lots of outlets which were very useful. The price was very reasonable and I felt an exceptional value. Now for the negative. I only have a couple of comments. The grounds looked tired and unappealing. There was a beat-up old junk vehicle parked at the front door which made me wonder. It was there for our entire stay. But when we entered the building it smelled fresh and clean. Things got a lot better. One other thing. I think the housekeeping manager held an employee meeting in the front lobby. Not very professional I felt but the place was very clean. I would definitely recommend this motel.

You advertised a pool and there wasnt a functioning one. You advertised it was extremly clean and it most definitely was not. And it most definitely is in an unsafe area

Staff was very friendly. However bed sheets and towels were stained, even after I asked for replacements. Carpet and kitchen area were also noticeably unclean.

Cleanliness was a big issue. Pool remained closed after noted closure for maintenance.

Our booking was cancelled by the manager while we were heading to the hotel from out of state with two small children. When we booked, it gave us two payment options and we choose "pay at property". According to customer service, since the manager didn't receive the money right away she decided to cancel our booking. They didn't even try to contact us to clarify or anything. As soon as we received the email about cancelation, we did called, three times and nobody replied. I would not book here at all. The hotel is also not in a very good area of town either.

The staff was amazing. They were courteous and helpful. The best thing about the stay was the staff .....FIVE STARS. The location around the property was a little sketchy, but nothing too crazy. The room was and restrooms were the cleanest, but it did the job

We spent one night and we're very happy with the room. It had a full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster and two comfortable beds. The area seemed a bit sketchy, but we were fine.

Everything was nice and clean.

It was clean and convenient to downtown area

The bathroom had small hair all over it. Even after it was cleaned there were still dirty towels behind the door that were left. They did give me extra towels as requested and cleaned the room when asked. They also had convenient laundry service. Wish there would have been dishwasher soap. Some dishes still had spots of food on them before using dishes

The front desk was very nice and helpful.

When I arrived the manager was at check in she called for a front desk agent and walked away upon my arrival the room had ants and the soap in the shower was empty I didn’t find out that there was no soap til I went to shower for work in the morning … all in all this place missed a ton of the small details that make a big difference in experience and presenting value

Full size microwave and refrigerator in room. Also stovetop to prepare quick meals which saved is from eating expensive fast food

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in in my life.

This area was not bad like some people make it out to be. We felt safe the entire time and would stay again. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and quick with anything we requested. They even brought us up a box fan (we’re all hot all the time lol) the ac does have a feature that will cut it off when there is no movement in the room but after speaking with one of the girls she was able to override that for us so we could stay cool and I could never thank her enough.ALL of the staff was nice and helpful but specifically the 2 ladies I talked to, Crystal and Lauren, were so sweet. And another lady I didn’t catch her name. Only complaint is the pool was a little dirty looking with leaves and cloudy but other than that, all was good.

Had a great time during my stay! However, I couldn't help but notice that some areas around the property could use a little TLC, particularly a few abandoned buildings that take away from the overall charm.
