Hotel was warm throughout in January
Beds were small for two people.
The location and views are spectacular. The hotel has a cozy 1920s feel but with modern comforts. It is a beautiful building. We loved afternoon tea and cookie time!
The hotel needs serious maintenance. Some staff were helpful and courteous—others much less so.
Location
Cottages need better heat
Location is spectacular hotel is beautiful
Staff and service is
Wonderful
Food is terrible, especially in the main dining room.
Worst food we’ve ever experienced
Hotel icônico e imponente no centro do parque
Location was amazing. The historic grandeur of the hotel was breathtaking.
The hotel is outdated and in need of repair and updating. Also the staff was lovely, but the hotel was short staffed. For the price and the hype I expected much much more.
The location and beautiful surroundings. Also that they have retained the original vintage decor as it was first designed. A step back in time of elegance. We had a wonderful dinner in the main Dino g room and thoroughly enjoyed the piano playing - it really completes the experience. We also love, love, love the grand fireplace room.
Only bad experience was in the sweet shop on the morning of Thursday, December 4th. We seriously think the cashier was having a nervous breakdown. She wouldn’t allow us to set our coffee cups down to pay or put the items we wanted to purchase on the counter. My husband said good morning and how are you and she replied please don’t ask me again, I’m having a bad day and this was at 7:00 in the morning. We felt so bad for her but something was seriously wrong. I asked her where to put the products - she told me to hold them in my hands - that’s along with the coffee and trying to pay at the same time!
If you are going to stay in a hotel in Yosemite then this is the best place to stay. But the property has declined a lot in the last few decades - our room was large and clean, but the interior of the building is in bad shape - water stains, worn rugs, chipped paint - and the large spider webs on the outside of the windows are off-putting. With a few exceptions the staff were not friendly or helpful. The food was average, Sysco fare. The dining room offers only steam table food, is poorly lit, but has incredible views. The last day of our stay the elevators were out of service and the staff were slow to respond to requests from guests to get their bags brought down from rooms on the upper floors.
The hotel is in a very good location, and the staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel needs some tender loving care.
The breakfast buffet options need much improvement.
very good location, but terrible service.
The property has good location but expensive. The buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant was not good, the foods were shortages. When we had dinner at 8pm, many foods were gone.
Nice view
The location is amazing! The bar had a nice selection of hot and cold beverages.
The housekeeping was subpar.
Renovations were still underway during our stay but we were still happy with our first time stay and would enjoy returning.
Loved the location and ease of access to the trails. The buffet dinner was excellent and the bar had great food too.
Nothing.
Built in 1927 a classic
Beautiful old hotel. Room large and clean. Perfect location. Some construction work outside.
