The hotel is located midway between the train station and the main square, and the rear of the hotel faces the cathedral square; it’s two blocks from most trams, and a manageable 1.1 km walk to the main train station.
The ultra-modern room design is the opposite of Bauhaus: here form fights, not follows function, and amenities are few: no coffee machine or tea kettle, no shower cap or hand lotion. The bathroom design could hardly be worse if the architect had aimed for failure: it has two glass walls, so you can watch tv while you brush your teeth or shower, but they necessitate putting the toilet behind a heavy door that makes entering and exiting that cubicle very tight, even for a small person like me. The door to the bathroom opens outward, instead of inward (because otherwise it would interfere with with shower or sink), but then the door prevents access to the closet and drawers. And if you want to leave the bathroom door open and toilet light on for use in the middle of the night, well, that’s a problem: the door will block the exit (a problem in case of fire), and there’s no way to leave the toilet light on without also having the shower light on—and with glass walls, that means that the whole sleeping area is also lit, at least dimly, so I hope that you have an eye-shade in your luggage. The night stands are so tiny that they barely hold a tablet and phone, but don’t try to charge them on the desk, because there’s no outlet there. Even the artwork on the wall is something of a joke: it’s a braille message in glass—an ironic comment on seeing but not much to look at. Oh—and the spa (sauna and steam room) that we hoped to use was closed for remodeling, there’s no on-site staff between 10 pm and 6:30 am (so they warn you that you will be quite out of luck if you forget your key when you go out to dinner), the mattress is a sweat-inducing type of foam rubber, and the restaurant is closed for dinner on weekends. Hardly what you expect of a 4-star hotel.

Also 200 Euro pro Tag (Spa wegen Umbau geschlossen).
