Gorgeous castle turned into luxury hotel.
Great location, both at a macro level (inside the Cagnes Villle Haute, beautiful medieval town) and local level (spread around several older structures but very cleverly integrated.) Extremely clean and tidy. The room met expectations and was comfortable. The staff was very kind and they all spoke English... but some did not speak French very well! Warning to any French speaker I guess.
First, I thought the staff, while kind, was generally unhelpful. They felt young and fresh (we came in June) and they needed to go find answers somewhere else for 70% of my questions. Some were minor (e.g. how to operate the pool controls) but some were a big deal (e.g. specific room charges at checkout.) Overall the staff training did not meet my expectation at that price point.
Which brings me to the price. I don't think the value is there. It is a very charming hotel in a beautiful location, but the experience did not command what we paid.
Beautiful village. So peaceful to come back to after long days exploring the coast. Top notch service!
This is a unique property, not accessible by car, but we managed to park near the Castle at the top of the hill and the walk was short and fun to get back to the car. On arrival, however, Gregory picked us up at our parking space, drove us through impossibly narrow streets, all the while downplaying the difficulty, then checked us in, acting as concierge, bellhop, and finally maître D at the dining room which has a balcony with an absolutely killer view of the Mediterranean.
Great stuff very helpful. The rooms are spacious and private set in historic area. Breakfast was good.
Location is far away from the main attractions, location of the parking lot is far from the hotel and requires pick up from staff, most importantly the rooms were very humid and even though the air condition was running, it didn’t reduce it. Private terraces required better cleaning and maintenance. Lots of bugs in the garden.

Wonderful historic hill top hotel with views to the sea
Dinner on the terrace was very very good
Complements to the chef ,
and the staff were lovely friendly and relaxed
Getting to the hotel was tricky Had to be met by the staff to transport luggage up the narrow cobbled st Got a bit lost finding the suggested car park but it was certainly worth it
ロケーションが最高で、かわいいホテル
2日滞在でしたが、タオル、バスローブを交換してくれなかった。
交換するかどうかも聞かれなかったと思う。
Great location. Awesome views. elegant interiors. historic place.
Everything about the hotel (the ambiance, room, staff) was absolutely brilliant but we had a very uncomfortable situation with one of the staff members in their restaurant that did ruin our stay. But the hotel amd restaurant are separate, so don't want this to put bad light on the hotel stay itself.
The encounter in the restaurant with a very rude Swedish waitress
We loved our room — it was comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast on the terrace was a delightful way to start each day. And the village oh Haut de Cagnes is a truly lovely place. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but it does not feel touristy in the least.
We would have very much appreciated a list of minibar items **with prices.**
Nice Hotel
Kind staff
Coffee was served 3x cold
The restaurant
It is very uncomfortably located, on a steep hill and you have to park at the bottom and climb. This is not mentioned anywhere in the description of the hotel. There is a left at the hotel which stinks from the sewerage. You have to reach your room from the outside of the hotel. No pressure of water in the shower.
Das burgähnliche Haus in dem mittelalterlichen Ort, der mit Feingefühl und Kreativität renoviert wurde.
Perfect atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
